Priestess hopped out of the cart. The enchanted trees truly were a sight to behold. She could sense the aura coming off them through a variety of senses.

But now wasn't' the time to get enamored. An arcane arachnid was in this vicinity, and she needed to be ready for it.

"If that thing can take down and bleed dry a cragadile, than these folk are gonna be in for the fight of their lives. Let's see if I can arrange for it to end before it starts. Victory is decided by those who control the battlefield."

Priestess wondered over to the cragadile corpse, scrutinizing the mummified remains for something specific. "Come on, it's a cragadile. You had to have left something behi- Ah! There you are."

Using her mouth, Priestess took a pair of tweezers and a small plastic bag out of her tail, and with her mouth, operated the tweezers to take out a follicle of coarse hair from the surface of the cocoon, and placed the hair in her bag. "That's step one. Time to set up step two."

Priestess sprinted past the group down the path ahead, everypony unaware of the diviner's actions. 25 feet ahead of where the wagon was, she activated a third gift of hers: a traveling talisman, storing an item in a thin strip of paper. Thankfully it was a quick use of magic, rather than a prolonged one like her two other gifts currently in use. Out of the strip came a big, brown lump of fabric and string. "With how dark it is right now, they most likely won't see it."   She got to work on the set up.

"As long as that cart stays around, this will work. All I have to do is work quickly, and be patient."

Cresent felt that odd blood beat rush past him again, "ok that's no chance" he drew the blade on the gauntlet, he could hear it further ahead, he was about to takkel the source when he herd an echoing screech. Cresent turn towards the party

"ITS HEAR GET READY!"  as soon as he turned back forward a white ball of silk was hurtiling towards the batpony who just barley doged it hitting the cart behind him. He saw the beast in one f the trees beginning to desend rapidly on them fangs bared and shot another silk ball from its mouth this time cresent was able to cut thru the projectile with his blade. the spider was now eye or in this case eyes leve with the batpony.

"We're here,"

As they approached the forest, Syo felt a huge headache and was left clutching her head while on Seamore's back. Her staff's orb was shining brightly due to the magical power of the trees.

Wow, this is some powerful magic... If only I could use it...

"Now, the Diamond Spider could arrive any moment, so I'll get to work on selecting the trees."

Syo held onto Seamore's back as he disconnected from the cart and he went around the trees. Syo held up her staff as Seamore inspected each tree and the magical aura she was sensing varied from tree to tree but her senses were somewhat scrambled due to the amount of trees there are.

"ITS HEAR GET READY!"

Syo's ears perked up as she heard the batpony yell and she turned around to see the huge spider but she didn't have the time as Seamore moved very quickly and Syo had to hold on. He went back to the cart and took out the saws.

"I'm going to need a good eye and a good ear to help me find two more trees like this one, any volunteers?"

"I can do that! I can see very well at night and I got the rough reading from that tree you were licking." Syo said as she volunteered.

(Before the spider)

Last didn't take much notice of the forest in general, more intent on finding the spider and have the first chunk of it carved before others took the chance from her. Caliber wasn't here to do so, so there was that less competition, but it was one she had actually wanted before he more or less vanished. She had to remember to put a leash on him the next time she ran into him if he hadn't been lost and eaten by something to avoid him wandering off or getting lost like this again, but that was for the future. Right now, she had a trophy to hunt.

Briar and Vivid was another thing entirely. Vivid, sensing the magic around, found a good deal of interest to soak it in and feel the varied energies vibrating around her. It was somewhat peculiar, but not in a bad way per se. Rather, it felt like a pleasant, tingling sensation vibrating through the air that she would perhaps have to study a time when the time was for it.

Briar on the other hoof, soaked in the feeling as well, but in his case it was not simply the magic but also the feel of the infused nature around them that seemed to flow through the air and seeped deep into the ground they stood upon, much like the roots of the very trees they were here for. It felt like a place where nature had gathered power like most plants would light and he had to admit, that not even in the grove of the Grand Lotus had he felt a thing like this before, and he wondered what it had to do to the things that grew here exactly.

Further he didn't get to think before Crescent yelled and hell broke loose.

(And now to current time)

"Hmhm, how adorable."

Vivid didn't move a muscle as the venom flew towards her and Last jumped backwards to avoid it. Instead, the tip of her horn began to glow as she got ready to pretty much annihilate the small amount of toxin. About a second before it hit she would have been able to do so unhindered as well, if it wasn't because the odd plant - Briar was it? - jumped in front of her and took the hit directly on the side of his face.

She would commemorate his chivalry, but as the toxin seemed to quickly seep into his face and began to make him stir throughout his body, it looked like chivalry might truly end up being dead.

Last didn't take much notice of it what happened with them. She had avoided the first spatter of poison and took a strong stance against the diamond-encrusted monster spider. It was indeed a Big spider, that was for sure, and the diamonds gave it some protection, but there was holes in all armour and she would not stand back from trying to crack through that section. Heck, let the diamonds see if they could withstand her blade.

Jumping back and then through two nearby trees standing side by side she made her way upwards quickly. When she reached near the top, she would push as hard as she could a final time with her back legs, sending the earth pony hurling towards the beast while she finally bit into the hilt of her large katana, withdrew it during the descend and got ready for impact.

Momentum was the fuel for her fighting technique, and the longer she could keep in movement and attacks the stronger the flurry would be, but right now the longer run wasn't in her mind. She wanted to see what this thing could hold to, and though she might end up not hitting the body or head like she hoped, perhaps she could end up cutting something off when she reached it? They would see when she got there, would turn her body to put as much strength as she could into the hit, then swing and see if this one was tougher than the boulders she usually trained this sort of thing on.

Back down at Vivid and Briar things started to go from bad to worse as Briar started to be torn from side to side by something internally, each violent motion resulting in a hoofful of yellow/orange droplets to spatter out from his pores. That in itself might not be much of a bother, but the fact that where it hit things began to rise up was. Rocks, leaves, inert plants beneath the ground, etc. began to go up and stretch their varied claws/fangs/clubbery appendages, ready to move on the other ponies and make this fight horribly unbalanced.

"Focus on the spider. These are mine."

There was little she could do for the catalyst or whatever the poison had made Briar into, but she could handle the spawns it started to smack around. As she started to speak low words in an incomprehensible language (demonic), and the purple glow covered her long horn and formed dark flames in her eyes, she began to draw out energy from the void and formed it to crush the creations around her. They spawned fast, but she was, at least for now, able to keep up, though a straggler might find its way towards somepony for a while.

The spider saw Last shooting through the air toward it and lifted up its first and second leg on one side to try to knock her out of the air. This action put both legs within range of her blade.

"Okay, Syo, I need you to put your ear to this tree and knock on it, then find a tree with the same color and glow and do the same. Once you find one with the same sound, call me over, I'll do the final check. It's not as simple as 'tasting' the tree, the tree makes you feel a certain way when you lick it, if it's ready. It's a hard feeling to describe, there are subtle differences you may not be able to notice. I'll get started cutting this tree down while you do that."

There wasn't any hesitation from Last. The second she got within range she swung with enough force to make a line appear in the ground beneath from from the force cutting through the air. It was not much, and she might have been able to do better, but she needed more momentum for that.

Yet, none of that mattered. As she felt metal cut through flesh she got a satisfied smirk on her face in the passing, knowing she had hurt the creature.

The unfortunate backside to that medal? The head-on direction and spider having changed its position also made it possible for it to bite her, perhaps in the leg, if it was not too preoccupied with having a few appendages less to work with.

The spider shot a strand of web into the air as it stumbled a couple steps backward. Losing two legs caused it to walk awkwardly. The strand of web floated down, one end landed where the frontmost leg was severed, and as the strand fell into place it transformed into a new leg, starting from the top where it was connected to the spider. This new leg had no diamond on it, so the only use it could provide was to give the spider more balance. The spider raised its head showing its fangs and let out an aggressive hiss.

"Understood, leave it to me." Syo said and she blinked off of Seamore's back and back to the tree that he identified earlier and applied what she just learned to the tree. Syo knocked on the tree and listened very carefully to its resonating sound, repeating as much as possible so that she would not forget it. After that, Syo took a step back and let her eyes pick up the particular colour of the wood.

"Okay, now for me to work." Syo said as she started to blink around the trees, finding a tree that matches the one she memorized. There were quite a few that matches the colour but not the glow, some look the same but have not the same sound. After a very short while, Syo teleported back to the tree and got a refresher before setting off again, this time, closer to the fight. Syo then found one of that matches in sound and look.

"Seamore! This one is similar!" Syo said as she then channeled a two-way portal to the cart. After that, Syo continued to look but she had to be careful as she getting close to where all of the fighting is taking place.

"Hey crawley! How about you come and try t' get a leg in return?"

Last had barely registered that Crescent had landed next to her compared to what she had just watched the spider do. Remaking a lost limb this fast wasn't something that was often in beasts, and frankly this was the first she had seen with her own eye that did that, which considering it was a hostile, gargantuan spider perhaps was a bit more important than responding to something about treating it like a bull. At least in her mind.

Granted, it was the same mind that now thought it best to have let out a loud whistle and the half-yelled, taunting words whilst her somewhat gooey katana leaned at her side to make sure the words wasn't getting muffled. Considering this, her current judgement could really come into question, so saying if she was right or not in her approach to things was debatable.

She did this with a plan though. Since the back of the spider was very hard and it's legs just came back (or one of them at least) she was going for the other direction: It's underside. Though, from this angle she had a problem getting the right momentum on her own, so she'd try something stupid: Getting the spider to attack her, see if she could get a flow going and not be bitten, and then take it from there. A chain of events that would frankly be easier said than done.

A few metres behind her, a bush slightly rustled and two big eyes looked behind the leaves at the rampant battle going on from a lot point, which would have to mean a foal of some degree.

Blitz had found the place with the leaves about a half minute ago and had nearly smiled her head in half at the countless leaves she could see here whilst the ideas flowed through her head. That part had been interupted though, when the sound of somepony yelling out came and sound like something hitting rock eas very silently heard.

Curious as always she had grabbed her small bag of explosives, followed the sound and whilst trying to avoid getting stick in spider web had now found herself looking at a very big spider, a few ponies she had seen in town, some she didn't, a talking cat and a lot of weird stuff going around.

She wasn't getting out of the bush to do anything about it as whatever went on they looked like they had under control, and she couldn't look away from what she saw from her little hiding place as it was too interesting anyway, so she just sat more  or less motionless. More or less because she had just let her lighter (Or well, matches, but it sounded better) slid from under her ornamental wings, and tried to open the bag she had with her slightly. Everything looked okay after all, and she really shouldn't do anything, but if there was something she had learned by living out here it was that if she was seen by something big and bitey, having a think that could go kaboom would make things better. For her anyway.

Cynthia nudged through the door leading into the Canterlot library, the light clinging of bells could be heard. Accepting the sudden warmth, she opened one of her saddlebags and pulled out her mug, examining it, reminiscing over how much the mug meant to her. With a light thump and a cling of the door's bell, the rather large wooden door came to a close, and a slight echo could be heard. The sound, playing her heartstrings, helped her trot happily over to the coffee machine that she had made from some spare parts, and checked the pot.

Still warm. Cynthia thought as she poured herself some.

The sound of a booming voice compared to the silence of the room surprised Cynthia a tad, but she had known somepony must've put her coffee on for her. She turned to be greeted by an older orange pegasus.

"Hey there, Cynthia! Nice to see you. Enjoying your coffee?" The orange pegasus asked.

She nodded. Cynthia trotted towards her desk in the middle of the atrium full of shelves and books, wowing her to no avail.

"I still don't see why you need to drink that stuff. I've heard it turns your hooves black!" The orange pony said, slight sarcasm in his bassy, soothing voice.

"You know that old mare's tale isn't true, Harold. Besides, you know of my addiction. I told you about that!" Cynthia stammered, a little distressed.

Harold raised one hoof apologetically. "I was just teasin', no need to get you saddlebags in a twist."

Cynthia shot him a half-smile. He knew just how to mess with her.

Suddenly, there was another clang of bells, along with a cool morning breeze wafting it's way through the warm library.

Who is there this early in the morning? A customer? Cynthia thought, glancing at the clock. It read, 6:30. We had only just opened!

With a soft smile, Renius stalked through the forest of the Everfree, the hunter almost out of rations and supplies to be comfortable. However, the spoils of this hunt had been unacceptable, so against his better judgement, he left for one more hunt before he was forced to return. He had seen precious little in the past few hours but the endless trees and webs, with no signs of where their occupants had gone, before he heard it- ever so faint, but still present.

Ba-dump. Ba-dump. Ba-dump.

A faint heartbeat was all that his heightened senses could hear, but it was all that he needed. Grinning, he silently took out his pair of knives and approached the growing noise of a battle with a smile as the heart beats grew both in number and in various tempos- including a slightly muffled one that he knew did not come from a pony creature. He slunk into a nearby bush with a smile before examining the rather chaotic scene- he was barely able to make sense of it himself as he studied the battlefield, watching the spider's moves and awaiting an opening. To those outside the bush, all that they would see of him was the crystal of his eyepatch as it started to glow orange ever-so-slightly...

"One limb, two limb, thee limb, four limb, five limb, ground." *thud* As priestess jumped down from the lowest branch of one of the tall rainbow trees on the path, carrying a thick strand of rope in her mouth. .The spider was currently distracted. Perfect opportunity for the next phase. With the cart in her sights, she crouched low to the ground, and bolted straight towards the cart at in-equine speeds, carrying the chord with her. As she approached, she pivoted her body back, and slid underneath the cart. Priestess then wrapped the rope around the axle before, hooking it on the back crossbar holding the wheels.  "That's all set. Now, to get this bastards attention."

Priestess then bolted out form under the cart and headed back towards the path. A low hanging branch was in her way. She jumped and landed on top of it, springing fourth to the next branch, until she was now above the path ahead of the battlefield. She nestled herself into the split crux atop the tree, her proverbial crows nest. She couldn't let her quarry see her, not with what she was about to do next.

Priestess dropped both her 'blur' cloak and her pony guise. She was now visible, though it's doubtful she could be spotted from up there.  She needed to channel that energy into the next part of the plan. Even from up in the tree top, she could faintly see the the white spec on the ground, an origami spider, with a hair on it. With a flick of her tail, she said "Seikatsu ni kimasu" (Come to life).

In an expanding orange flash, the paper was gone, and in it's place, a big, red, longer legged, uglier, diamond chaos spider.

Priestess raised a paw. The spiders front legs raised in return. "Alright, so we both know that spiders aren't the most social of creatures. Probably cause they're territorial as all tarturus. I mean seriously, since when did you see two males last share a web? So come on. I know you'll want me gone. I'm on your turf."

"This is a challenge. Come to me."

The red diamond spider raised it's front legs even higher."

He licked the tree, "Close, but it's not happy enough. It needs to be the right combination of happy and sad, with a little bit of tired. There's a bit more to it than that, but that's the best description I can come up with."

"Alright!" Syo called out as Seamore checked. This soon became a very efficient system as Syo blinked all over the place and kept her eyes open for a similar tree and then going to it and checking the sound. In a short time, Syo found 3 more trees and then she opened a series of portal links between them for Seamore. "Seamore! More over here!"

As Syo stood to call out, she just noticed the spider running toward her. Her ears drooped as she wore a face of shock and horror.

"NYA!!!" Syo yelled before blinking away to safety, among the trees. "Nya... that was close..."

Since that she have some time while Seamore is going to check the three she called out, Syo looked around and saw another spider attracting the spider's attention.

Oh great, another spider?! This is getting out of hand, they are going to need some help. But I need something to work with...

And then she found a huge boulder lying to the side. She expertly blinked to the top of the fake spider and planted a point of reference while in mid-air, before going to the boulder and slamming her staff down and channeling her magic to conjure a portal that is directly under the boulder. Her staff's orb started to glow brightly as she started to gather energy.

Geez... This boulder is really heavy! If I don't hit that spider on the head, then it will be a wasted effort.

@,

Oh great, now there were two of them.

The thought ran through both Last and Vivid's heads when the other one suddenly appeared and started to mingle in with things. It had already been a bother, and now that there were two, it would just get wide against their favour unless something was done to remove one of them, and fast. After all they might be fighting eachother now, but spiders did at times work together to catch prey, and if they got over their little feud and looked around at the snack possibilities, things would really start to go south.

Last's response to things was not to jump to the side of the charging spider and then hope she could get a hit in otherwise. She stood her ground and waited a few seconds, looking at the poison trail with the grim realisation of what her actions now was gonna end up putting her in the line of, but that was just the price of things. Hopefully it wouldn't end being too bad.

With that thought she charged at it as well, avoiding the legs and then making a jump, swinging against the underside of the spider that had been there from the start. She hadn't the time to see if it was armored as well and therefore might be less effective than she had aimed for, but as she felt some droplets of the poison on her back she knew that there wasn't a way back either. She had chosen to take a hit to give an opportune one, and now it was all in the hooves of fate what was gonna happen from here on out.

Vivid had a simpler way to things than this. Having conjured a large pair of sharp, deep-purple hands to crush the randomly spawned things that Briar's body was currently spreading about, she simply took an animated pile of rocks she had currently been using as a sort of club and tossed it against the new arrival. It was a lot cruder than the methods she was used to, but she was frankly tiring out at this point and didn't have the time to conjure a better spell to use as long as Briar kept on being infected and give her new things to handle.

Hopefully this fight would be over soon, otherwise she would have to turn to keep using these as projectiles even though that would likely just spread them rather than end them, because at that point she wouldn't have enough magic left to do anything but keep the hands with substance and control them. A pity she had wasted the magic showing off with Cubus or things might have been different, but the past couldn't be changed. and she had to work with what she had now. At least for as long as it lasted.

Her mane and tail were short in two shades of pink each and her eyes were a bright pink. She wore a vest with six pockets, a pair of glasses without the lenses, a pink pearl necklace and three pink metallic rings around each of her legs.

"That is usually how it goes."

The slightly whispering voice came from the pony next to Ziggy. She was the regular size of a pony rather than standing above most like her half-blood companion, but that is where the unusual started to get into view.

The pony's whole body was a myriad of random dark and grey colours of various degrees, whilst her mane and tail was a simpler base black, grey near the end and ending in light grey tips, though it was less simple how it seemed like the mane and tail kept moving like they were in a light breeze even after the door closed behind them. Her ears ended in a sharp tip, her eyes were a pale grey and she looked rather thin in it compared to most other earth ponies, and by the way her steps didn't seem to make a sound, also quite a bit lighter.

"Now, what did you call this?"

Omen's mouth wasn't moving when she spoke, but it didn't really seem to faze Ziggy as she had spent the last 8 hours or so hanging out with this odd pony and had seen far weirder at this point. So she just giggled, moved her right front leg in a left to right angle in front of her to indicate the start of a *This is-* response to her new friend.

"A library. It's full of books of adventure, knowledge, scientific studies and so on depending on the size, and this place looks Huge. I bet there's all sorts of fun things to read in- Oh, hey there."

At the end, Ziggy had noticed the two ponies already here and raised a hoof high to wave at them with a big smile on her face. Omen didn't participate in the enthusiasm, but she did look at Cynthia whilst her head tilted slightly to the left. It seemed like her general stance on meeting new ones were less *greetings* and more *Look at them like you would a lava lamp*.

Seeing the 2nd spider cresent realized this was going to be longer then he thought. He knew from seeing the first one the legs were the week spot this one was larger tho, was it the mate or a rival? or was this the mystery beats doing? He flew up looking at the group in general. Brair was having an plant attack by the way it looked, Last was charging for the legs of the  of the 2nd one. Cresent made a note to get that mare a good drink later.

He looked at the one he was trying to break. It was still angry and ready for a fight but less armored. Cresent made a new plan diving for the first spiders legs swiping at the joints meeting his mark to see the pop off. It looked like last could handle the 2nd one but not both of them, he hoped to Luna he was right as he swung around for another pass

(think snow speeder vs ATAT that's what cresents doing/trying)

Cynthia stared at the two odd ponies that came into the library, totally awestruck by how totally different they looked. She glanced at Harold, who gave a shrug and started to trot in their direction. Cynthia regained her composure and followed her companion.

"Hey there, my little ponies! And welcome to the Canterlot Library. How may we assist you?" Harold said, sounding more chipper than usual.

Now that she was closer, Cynthia got a better look at the odd, but rather captivating sights that stood before her. Especially the black one. She wasn't quite black, and that's what confused Cynthia the most. She didn't know a mare's coat could even do that. The black one seemed to look at her with complacent stare, as if being used to getting looks, and Cynthia was very nervous not to offend a beautiful mare like her.

"Umm.. We can also order you a book from somewhere else if you want a book that we don't have." Cynthia said timidly.

Damn it! Cynthia thought. She didn't know why she was struggling so much to greet these ponies. That's all they were, they weren't some kind of monsters! Be proper to them! Cynthia scolded herself.

The pink mare with rings on her hooves almost seemed to be stifling a giggle.

At least she thinks this is funny. Cynthia thought, shaking her ahead and deluding her thoughts. She'd rather not deal with being angry at herself right now.

@@Melke@@Seamore Sandwich@@Denim&Venom@@cwhip9@@Blitz Boom,

Renius paused. He was poised to strike, but the spider had been drawn by something, charging something that was out of his field of vision. He heard the tell-tale Ba-dump of another heart, hiding in the trees near where it charged. Intriguing, he thought to himself, What an interesting beast. I wonder what she did to it to cause it to charge her. Was it... magic of some sort? He shivered a little bit at the term, but it was more out of anticipation than out of fear. Examining what he could see, Renius noticed a pony on the ground, seemingly sweating a chemical combination of orange-yellow gunk that, upon hitting the ground, caused effects from grass to grow, roots to turn into clawed hands, and mushrooms to grow violin-like appendages and start playing music. This was contained by another unicorn who he could see was quickly tiring out. "Well... that's unique," he purred to himself. "Perhaps there's a reason the scientists want spiders from the Everfree."

With that out of the way, he closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and began to focus inwards. His eyepatch and his charm began to glow as he focused all of his pent up energy that he had been saving throughout the entire day. With a soft growl, he felt the all-too-familiar buzz as the shadows wrapped around him and his sight went red, as if he was looking at the world through glass. He couldn't see any details, but that's alright- he could hear them all too well. And even if he couldn't see too clearly at the moment, the others certainly couldn't see him without some sort of magical sense- but his smell and the few sounds he made were all too obvious, and was rather haunting.

Ba-dump. Ba-dump. Ba-dump.

As he closed his eyes, the breathing and the heartbeat of the ponies giving away their positions much better than any magical equipment might. The spider was only a few meters in front of him, and another pony was sliding underneath of it in an attempt to hit its underside, so coiled himself up and, with a roar produced with over a week's worth of anticipation, he leaped onto the beast, releasing all of the pent-up adrenaline. Landing on it's back, Renius tried to go for a quick kill; driving the dagger into the beasts brain, but the head was larger than he participated, and hoisted up from detecting a second spider- which he completely ignored, as it didn't have a heartbeat, didn't breathe, didn't appear to be made out of magic, and wasn't attacking anyone else- he ended up merely hitting the carapace protecting the head. But the flaming hot edge of the crystal dagger found a mark as he dragged it up, finding one of the few places the dagger didn't protect- an eye. Feeling his dagger sink into something, he removed it and plunged it down again, but by this time, the spider seemed to have had enough.

As it reared off- both to throw him off and to threaten the... the not-spider... yes, that's what it is. I wonder what its true form is? - he found his perch too unstable to maintain, and, thus, dove off to the side, landing on the ground and hooking a leg in the process- while not enough to completely cut it off, enough to sever a muscle and disable it. He landed rather roughly, but rolled into it, squishing one of the singing mushrooms while he was at it. Unsure of what the spider would do at this point, between him, the pony who lopped off a leg, the pony who was sliding under the spider (who he couldn't see from where he was, although he could hear her breathing and heartbeat, so she was still alive) and the giant, illusionary spider, he assumed a defensive stance- but paused as he noticed that his crystal blade was now a foam pool noodle, with a quickly fading droplet of the same orange liquid that was coming out from the unconscious pony in the rear.. What?! He growled as he dropped it, down to one knife. "What magic is this, turning a crystal blade into a mere pond toy?!" Scowling, he flung his off-hoof in another direction, the momentum of the motion causing a a pair of long, thin blades to appear that resembled claws. With a click that meant the blades locked, he assumed a defensive stance yet again as he began to slowly circle the beast, trying to learn the fate of the pony that had just slid underneath.

@@Xiflelin,

"Hehe, thank you for the welcome, but I'm not sure what we're looking for to be honest. Omen just got us here and it looked like the best place to check out first since I figured that this library would have some excellent books. Not sure what she would like to read, but... Hmm,"

Ziggy patted her chin a bit whilst her brain circled around to catch the thought that had started to run away from her.

"Do you perhaps have any medical books? Looked through a lot of those back in Las Pegasus, but it's always good to see if there's something new around to learn."

Omen didn't flinch, blink or even move beyond what her mane and tail did. She had been watching the two ponies at first, but Cynthia was the one to look at her, so Omen had started to simply just focus on her, seeing if something was going to happen or if she was looking for something in particular on or about her.

There wasn't really anything in her overall appearance or eyes that said she thought anything in particular whilst doing this. She just looked at the other one like she tried to learn something. Anything really, though it might be slightly off-putting or creepy, depending on the pony in question.

"..."

The odd mare kept silent and at her unmoving stint, leaving Ziggy to look between her and Cynthia, wondering what was going on there for a bit before a light went off in her head. Not about what was going on here, as she still didn't have much of an idea about what to think of Omen, but something else that she had said earlier when they had talked about last night.

"Oh right, almost forgot. Do you have anything with pictures in it that Omen could look at? She's not completely sure what a book is so something easy might be the best start for her."

Seamore traveled through the portals and checked each tree, marking the first and third trees. "Now we can start cutting. The enchanted saw should do most of the work. A few important things before we begin, while your cutting: if you smell fresh baked muffins, slow down; if you start to feel like your being tickled, switch hoo- ... paws, if the feeling continues take a break; and if you taste strawberries, you need to start humming or singing an unhappy song, anything that would make somepony less happy, you could even whistle it if you wanted to; anything else, just let me know and I'll tell you what to do. But anyway, first you need to cut a notch in one side to create the direction for the tree to fall in, then cut a line from the other side to the notch." With that Seamore handed Syo one of the saws and went over to one of the trees he had selected and started cutting. He was done with the notch pretty quickly, the tree hadn't given him much trouble with that, so he moved on to cutting the horizontal line from the other side.

The spider, now missing an eye and a leg, and bleeding from the wound Last had inflicted on it, continued to charge at the new spider, its instincts having taken over. The spider leapt into the air, fangs still bared and dripping venom, coming down toward the new spider.

Syo was listened to Seamore as he talked about how to cut the tree as she finally finished her setup and then blinked back to the tree and picked up the saw. Slamming her key staff into ground so that it can stand, she was able to use both of her paws to lift the saw and proceed to make a notch on one side like Seamore said.

Syo heard a huge leap and saw the two spiders are about to clash. It was now or never, she only had a short window.

"EVERYBODY CLEAR THE WAY!" Syo shouted as she abandons the saw for a short moment and then grabbed her staff, activating the portal that she had prepared while Seamore was checking. The boulder from before, dropped into the first gate that was planned directly at its bottom and another huge portal open in mid air, above the other spider.

Like a chain reaction, the boulder fell and it fell, its trajectory was somewhat timed so that it will crush the other spider and hopefully smack the original spider on the hard enough on the head to cause it to stumble.

After activating her magic, Syo collapsed to her knees due to the huge size of the portal. Syo leaned on her staff as she got back up and got back to cutting the tree.

@,

The bloody katana hit the ground whilst the spider travelled onwards, the metal bouncing slightly on the ground before sitting motionless. Shortly thereafter, the combined saddlebag and scabbard for the katana fell down flat on the ground, though a tingling of coin was there in the bag part of the thing. It was not loud, and none here would hear it, but it wasn't that important either. What would be the real thing to take notice off would rather be what had happened to the pony that had been holding both of the items just a few seconds ago, after the blade had cut into the beast.

It had been a successful hit as both the spider and the sword could attest, and Last should have been here celebrating, but what had happened to her in the few seconds whilst she had started to fall, and why was the wound so shallow on the spider? It almost looked like there hadn't been much power to swing it and what had been meant as a gutting slash had become more of a flesh wound.

The answers seemed to answer eachother when the leather holster started to move and a pair of big, striped ears popped out, followed soon after by a being that shook it's head, resulting in the big ears to slam into its face.

It looked like a mixture between a lollipop and a rabbit with puffy ears a little bigger than it's body in both width and length. It had short fur otherwise, a simply tail like any rabbit, and on it's face was the cutest... Or okay, it actually looked both very angry.

When the poison had hit her Last had been able to feel the effect of her shrinking and feel her power wane. She had barely been able to swing the sword when it had reached, and though it had made a hit, and she had gotten away from it alive, she wasn't to keen on the feeling of transforming when she fell. And especially not into something like this.

Dark thoughts crossed her mind as she looked down on her small paws and started to feel to her sore head. There was a fight and she was a furry little annoyance as best now! What could possibly make this wo- Oh you got the be kidding me.

When her paws had reached her head and she had felt the large, thin horns that made her realise she wasn't just a rabbit, but a danged Jackalope, she started to jump up and down and make some small words that wasn't something those around could understand. Which was likely for the best as it looked like she was letting loose some curse words that was more befitting of a sailor than a small creature like she now was.

After a bit of this she stopped, bounced awkwardly over to her katana and took a grab in the hilt with her paws, trying to drag it with her. The look of the struggling Jackerlope barely being able to even lift the hilt, much less move the sword from where it was now, might seem odd to others, and it was a dangerous place to be in right now, but she didn't care much. She wasn't gonna leave her katana behind, Giant, rampaging spider be damned.
