"You really don't mind that I'm part bat? Most ponies are scared of that, or try to run me out of town at the very least. That's why I wear the jacket. Even if I can only partially control the whole eye thing" She says while waiting on her next marshmellow to cook. "I'm not sure how I feel about anyone else around here, a few of them gave me weird looks. Like that one with the blue eyes, I'm not sure how long I should stick around." She notices her marshmellow caught on fire while she was cooking it and quickly gets up and puts it out.

"Why would I have a problem with what you are? I've met plenty of bat ponies in my travels. My dad has a good friend who's a bat pony. If they seem to be staring it's probably because you're wearing a jacket when it's so warm near the fire. I don't think they're judging you." Now addressing the others he asks, "what brings you into the Forest today?" He was really curious because of the equipment they were carrying. He made a mental note of the other ponies' names to help him remember because otherwise he'd definitely forget, 'Last Stand, first to talk. ExCalibur. Bat ponies come out at Dusk.'

"Well lIke I said, the jacket is mostly because of the wings, if my eyes don't ever give me away then the wings definitely would. They aren't feathered like normal pegasi wings. Even though my dad was a pegasus I take after my mom who's a bat. So I'm thinking the jacket stays on until I'm sure they're not going to chase me away." Dusk says under her breath, while looking at the other ponies.

Dax looked back and forth between Blitz and the newcomer Angel.  He had no idea why his new friend would think the filly was a rabbit, but then again she WAS prone to strangeness, so maybe it was all just another strange working of a hyperactive pony.  However, the fact remained that the two of them were no longer alone.

"Uhm, hiya.  I'm Dax.  Nice to... uhm... meet you?"  His statement ended in a question because he wasn't sure if this would be a good meeting... or a bad one.  All he could do was try to be welcoming, and hope for the best.

He tried on a smile, looking at Angel.  He looked kind of worried, but it was obvious that he meant no harm.

"...i doubt thats it. after all, cats dont normally talk in this world..." he finished the mask, and levitated it back to him, waiting for it to do it back. "and even less common is a cat wearing a mask. tell me, im interested in knowing more about you."   he went for a winning smile.

"Well, I guess... the cat's outta the bag..." Melke mumbled to himself as he took back his mask. He inspected it first, surprised that it was as good as new. He then closed his eyes and the mask on his face evaporated into a dark mist before disappearing and then he placed his mask back on and put his ears through the straps. "I guess... I should start with my name, I am not sure what do you want to know about me... My name's Melke."

Melke bowed his head a little as he introduced himself and then his stomach decided to growl. Melke started to blush behind the mask.

"Oh my.. how embarrassing"

@@Fire Lily,

@@Randimaxis,

"They're fun. Fun's better than normal."

Zecora was especially somepony really not normal, but in a fun way, and they had a weird little talk whilst the Zebra came around for some of the small bitey plants a little away from where they were now. As for the bat ponies, there was still no dice there, but one day when she could fly herself, she would be able to rise up and ask herself no problem... Well, perhaps, she'd see.

"And kaboomies can be a lot of things. Firecrackers, rockets, confetti-bombs, mines, dynamite... Everything that can explode, and some things that can't. Not sure if the smoke bombs are kaboomies or fun things yet.

Dax and I was gonna go look at some of the fireworks. Wanna see? It's pretty."

Blitz didn't wait before she went over next to her hut and took a stick with her mouth, went over to the door and slided it under. After rummaging for a bit a soft click could be heard and she would pull out the stick again and put it back before looking at both of them (if they were still there) with anticipation in her eyes.

"No fire okay? Not good in there."

With her hind leg she opened the door slightly and let the dim, outside light shine in upon things. What Angel and Dax would be able to see were a work table in the middle of the room with various things on it, a mortar and pestle, and what looked like a pipe made from bark that wascut down in the middle and half-filled with glittery powder.

Around that, they would see the other things she had here: Containers. Small crates, jars, barrels, whatever she had been able to salvage from the trash at night in Ponyville to hold things in basically. Each were crudely labelled with everything from what seemed like the names of ingredients (her names for them, not the scientifically ones) and to a small one that was hard to make out in the lacking light, but were very secured and literally said *Pipebombs*. Hard to focus on just that when there were basically stuff upon stuff all over the place, but there you had it.

Vivid wandered a little closer, looking searchingly upon Cubus as if she could perhaps catch a glimmer of whatever embraced him but finding nothing. Or at least nothing she could see.

"Have you seen them before? The ones that wander with ghostly flames in dark, empty sockets?"

"We went looking at some Ursa bears, then heard the noise and figured that was something worth fighting."

Last kept her eye on the fire as she answered his question.

She hadn't reacted much when Caliber had clapped her back and had kept to her thoughts like she usually did when there was new ponies around. Not because she was nervous, no, but she had a habit of observing ponies before interacting too much with them, just in case she spotted something interesting or alarming.

Seamore and Dusk on the other hoof... So far, really nothing. The only thing that seemed to be was some whisperings between them that she honestly didn't see as much of a problem, nor something she had to try and dig into, so she had mostly just kept quiet and waited until something would happen whilst she mellowed down inside over the disappointment of not finding a huge, hulking... Something, here.

Beyond that she was mostly just casually looking at the marshmallows for the S'mores and debating whatever or not to give it a go. It looked simple and fine enough, but the issue she was that it might be too sweet in the taste. She couldn't handle overly sweet, and in fact preferred if it was bitter or sour, so it would take a bit of thinking before she would go the step. Or not, depending on what she eventually reached.

Dax looked about the workroom in wonder.

"Wow... you've got more stuff in here than we do in the supply shed back at the mines!"

He cautiously stepped inside, then moved over to give Angel room to come in, if she wanted to.  He gazed about, looking at or in one container after another, breathing carefully so as not to disturb the contents within.  He had to admit - there was certainly enough stuff here to possibly blow up most of Equestria.  Blitz didn't seem like the kind of pony who would do that... well, not on purpose... but he tried to give her the benefit of the doubt; she was his friend, after all.

"I... I might be able to bring you some of the dynamite from the shed; it might not be much, though.  Still, I get the feeling you'd use whatever I brought you.  Hey," he suddenly realized, "I could bring you old barrels, canisters and lanterns, too.  Y'might be able to use those as well, right?"

Cresent noosed putting the coin purse in his work vest pocket, he made a mantel note to wash/burn the vest with the amount of dried tomato he hooped he didn't look threating with the red splatter. well then again batponys had a bigger rep then there was truth to them. He spread his wings to leave the tree house locking the door behind him and took off into the night.

Cresent savored the moment air moving through his mane how peaceful it was with the stars clear in the sky then he remembered what was going to happen. The plan, go back to ponyville, give the vendor the rest of the bits, shake hooves and call it a night. maybe find out what that loud noise he herd was after word. By the time he was over ponyville and his crash site he slowly glided down not running into anypony and trotted to the spot....cresent blinked.

He couldn't see the vendor, he knew at this time some vendors would be packing it up by now unless some were having a special sale and the more he looked around the more he realized most of the town wasn't nocturnal judging from the lack of anypony showing up.

Cresent saw one of the vendors from before hand who was present at the argument "excuse me there was an tomato seller near by do you know if he left or said anything after me and my buddy left?" he asked the vendor. This vendor was a lot more different and less annoyed then the tomato one, being a unicorn at a tent for lamps from what cresent could tell

"ah your the bat that hates tomatoes" said the mare smelling

cresent rolled his eyes gone for 5 min and he already had a title this will be a fun night "yes yes and you must be the wizard from screen 24 I'm kind of in a hurry here did you see the tomato seller leave?" he asked again

"He did after you tow left practically dancing. said something about retirement and a party he was throwing open invite and such" said the unicorn

@@Randimaxis,

Angel looked hesitantly between Blitz and Dax, she'd read more than a few scary stories lately, without her mom's permission of course, and walking into a dark building in the middle of the forrest sounds like something exactly out of one of those. Curiosity ended up getting the better of her though she did fluff her wings up a little to both make her look bigger and in case she needed a quick escape. Though she was seriously doubting her ability to outrun a full grown stallion.

"Sure, why not?" Angel asked while trying to play it cool, odds are it went unnoticed though since the other two ponies were already walkings towards the building she was just on the roof of. She watched the filly poking a stick under the door and simply stared there confused looking at Dax trying to figure out if he knew what was about to happen, though his attitude towards her kept her from actually asking.

The door opened with an audible click and the distracted filly heard something about no fire. Which as far as she was concerned was more than fine by her. She wasn't allowed to cook anymore after certain events involving her somehow managing to burn soup, even the broth, so she tended to avoid any sort of fire by nature.

She wandered around the room looking at all of the jars. She figured the other two were talking big pony stuff and she'd be able to nose around realitively unnoticed. Blitz only looked a couple years older than her but the way she talked to Dax told her not to get involved. She went a nudge a couple of the jars that were full of different materials, careful to never knock anything off, something told her something bad could happen if a few of these dropped and she liked her mane just how it was, not exploded.

When she got to the end of a long row she found more of the glittery powders, blue, red, green, yellow, and a few other colors she'd never seen or heard of. "Hey, what are all of these? They're pretty." She asked Blitz, hoping they had a more practical use than some of the other things she mentioned.

She was starting to warm up to seamore though knowing that he isn't going to ask her a hundred questions like other ponies seem to do. Nobody else really acknowledged her existance besides him and the one pony who gave her that suspicious look, while throwing another marshmellow on a stick she briefly considers removing her jacket and lets it slides down her shoulders only a little bit trying to cool herself off from the fire.

She gives Seamore a small look at the mention of "creatures" in the forrest, she knew he didn't mean it like that but it wasn't for her benefit either. She's been called all sorts of things in her young life, but maybe she could use what he said about the fire to her advantage. After all she was there, right? the vendor in question was having a blast at suger cube cornor. "i came for more then cider, buddy" he herd a familer voice behind him

"What if I got you a drink?" tried the vendor again

Unfortunately I can't really wander with the same haste, and especially not when the gnarly roots here and there would make for more slap-stick than progress as I can't see them. Yet..."

Briar stopped his words and had a small thought about what next to say for a few seconds before slightly nodding to himself and finishing what he had led up to.

"I can speed up some if I can feel my way forward more directly. Just please, do not stand too close."

With that he slid out the two vines from under his cape, one on each side, and let them stretch the three meters he had of them both forward and to each their side, connecting them at first with each their tree.

it was not something he enjoyed doing, as some ponies became very judgemental when seeing this part of him, as well as him not wanting to accidentally hit somepony, but Priestess had been tolerant of much so far from him, so he would chance it if it meant not slowing the surprisingly quick pony down.

He also hoped she could see now why it was he had asked her to keep distance, as the vines was littered with needle-like thorns and the buds at the end was currently opened so she could see they were meant to grab things... Or potentially eat it, depending on the situation. The way the four *petals* of the bud closed around the tree and left marks would also tell her that they were not garden variety, unless you meant garden tools, in which way a connection could be made.

If she would start to move again, he would follow her as best he could and feel his way forward instead of going by what the wind and general feel of the earth told him alone. It would make him faster, but fast enough to keep up with the lightning approach from before? No, not a chance.

"Yes, I want to see this through as well."

It was mostly true, though there was something else: Paranoia. He had the lurking suspicion that something was going to go wrong here, and though he couldn't arrest anypony for lacking respect - a regrettable situation at a few, select times like this - he was still not convinced that a crime couldn't still arise, though he still hoped it was just paranoia and it would turn out fine, though give him less respect for the vendor for a long time in this town.

(After arriving)

Stargazer had with some regret gone into the party atmosphere along with Crescent, though he had diverted and went to a more reclusive part where he could still have a look over things, though not hear them.

A few tried to chat him up, but he frankly didn't care enough and just asked them to move along. Not because he didn't want to know the inhabitants, but he wanted to meet them in their right frame of mind, which was sober, and besides he frankly didn't enjoy being here. Parties with a lot of drinking going on had never been his cup of tea compared to a good evening with sober ponies, but he technically had a job to do here, and so he would go where it required him to. Just like he had at the guards, and just like he had when he was transferred.

Then things all of a sudden changed when the vendor emptied a mug of cider into Crescent's eyes - It looked that was at least, though he might have been able to avoid some of it - and ran off.

"Now you're mine, vendor."

Throwing water into someponies face was not a big deal. It could be seen as rude, and as the first step towards a fight you'd better break up, but that was it. Cider and alcohol in general though was a diferent story, as getting that into your eyes could quite literally strip the membrane from it and damage your eyesight if you were unlucky (amongst other things), which would give him authority to consider this an attack. It wasn't always viewed as such, and mostly depended on the guard and the mood of said guard if they would consider it an attack or an idiotic act, but the vendor had hit a nerve with him today.

Hopefully Crescent would turn out okay and follow him as he went towards the door, delayed slightly because he had to get past the crowd that wasn't all too keen on simply moving to the side and wandered out, spreading his wings and took to the sky whilst his eyes scanned over the town below him, searching for his first target in this town.

It's a demonic speciality, and not one I think you would want to hear me tell you further about, nor one I would want to say myself. It wouldn't be good for your soul to even hear about.

The third is dificult, but there is a summon ritual that can be done. It will still take blood, though not much and not from the heart far as I recall, but the steps and ingredients for that is largely unknown to me. We are talking old, dark ages things here from thousands upon thousands of years ago after all, and things like that is not easy to come by.

I know there is a book wherein it is mentioned written in a hard to decipher language, but such a thing would be extremely rare, and I have not been around this world enough yet to know any collector mad enough to get just about any book they could get their hooves on."

Last looked back at the pony that had joined them before, though this time around she wasn't doing so with a searching eye as much as just watching. It would look less hard, but since her eyes were narrow by birth and the ice-blue could look harsh, it could be hard to say if she was contemplating something for some ponies. Perhaps she should give a reassuring smile or something?

A vague smile was shown on her muzzle before she turned towards Caliber that had just asked if she wanted a S'mores whilst he literally put his blade into the fire to use as a sort of pan. She liked that sort of thinking really, and since he asked...

"Why not? Never know until you try."

She was about to go back and see if she could say something to the other pony when the lumberjack started talking and she put her whole focus on him.

"I'm listening."

"Plants that bite? I've never heard of those before, sounds kind of dangerious, but exciting too" ngel said while still looking between Blitz and the pretty colors.

She was still lost in her own little world when the other filly was saying something about seeing something go off. "You mean the sparkly ones? Could I? Please?" She said while jumping up and down, hovering in the air a few seconds each time.

Now that he was sure he had their attention he explained, "There is a certain type of wood with unique magical properties which is very valuable that you can only harvest if you have the proper permits. These permits are given in a limited supply to protect it from over harvesting and typically permits are only good for one tree, which increases the value. The permits are signed and stamped by the buyer to prevent somepony from just claiming they hadn't cut one down yet. You even need a permit to buy it, it's so rare. But anyway, a giant Diamond-Spider has moved into the section of the forest they grow in, and I can't cut any of the trees down without that thing finding me. I'm not much good in a fight so If you can distract it I can cut the tree down and haul it out of there. Since it is an invasive species it's not protected by any laws and killing it would actually be helping the local wildlife." Leaning in toward Dusk he whispers to her with his hoof at the side of his mouth so the others couldn't read his lips, "We could use your help, too. I don't think any of us can see in the dark all that well." He then gets up and fills a mug with cider and sits back down.

"... it does sound pretty cool, actually.  I'd love to see what they do."  He looked at the fireworks with anticipation in his eyes.  Then, turning his head to face Angel, he smiled an actual smile at her.  "Yeah... yeah, could we?"  He turned back to Blitz, and began impatiently pacing behind Angel's hops.  "Can we?  Huh?  Can we please?"

This could be LOADS of fun... certainly more than simply sitting around at my campsite, trying to figure out what to eat today.

"Meh. I've seen trippier things. The pink one over in Ponyville? She is just all kinds of wrong. This... is normal by comparison. But aside from that, you ready to ride?" The slight sounds of hooves on earth from her jogging in place could give an indication on how ready she was.
