Near the end of what she was saying, the strange creature was levitated away from her grip and she lost her balance, ending in her falling down flat on her stomach. It didn't hurt, and she was up again in a few seconds, but it was plenty enough time so that she couldn't get a hold of the unconscious thing that floated towards the pool of water, even if she did try to jump up and get a hold of him a few times.

Once they reached the water, she had more or less just given up and looked between the strange being, Summer, Midnight and the destination for their perhaps-fishy new friend.

"I bet he's gonna make a nice splash."

Briar had wandered through the door shortly after Charlie had pointed it out, smelling the swamp he had left behind both years ago in reality, and what felt like days in this realm. He had turned around once he got a few steps in, prepared to thank Charlie for the interesting adventure they had had, as well as the help he had provided in both his own and Briar's quests.

A thought about how to exactly wish him luck on his way onwards after that was formulating in his head before Charlie began to relate to another dreamer having joined this realm, though this one didn't sound like one he had expected by far.

"That is rather odd, but I'm sure there is a perfectly reasonable explanation to why this is. Would you like me to join you in finding out, or is this a personal matter you would prefer to handle in solitude my friend?"

He knew that not all took it lightly to point out others as friends, but after the amount of time he had heard the spirit play with Brittle in her dream, and how he had made her laugh, he considered the spirit a friend. Even if Charlie would turn out to prefer not to be called that.

It would be a situation he did not mind much if it were, as he could understand that there were ones such as Priestess who wanted to address one as a friend only very selectively, but they would see how things would turn out. First though, there were a mystery that might need answering.

@@Seamore Sandwich, @@Denim&Venom, @@Blitz Boom, Hering Last's blood sing like she was snoozing cresent found himself near the changling recovery circle. He couldn't see much but the blood hearing alone would give him enough details on what was going on with Priestess and the hive.

He slowly sat down listening to everything trying to focus on information. He was always curious about how the hive mind of changlings worked out, maybe he cloud use this to help to one in the future.

Sapphire watched as the strange scene unfolded. She cocked her head in question as the other ponies suggested what this strange being could be labeled as. She felt like she had read about this in some book lore, something she had a short spell of obsessing over as a young filly.

She looked on as they levitated the creature to some nearby water. She had a gut feeling that submerging it in water, was not a good idea. However, she wasn't much to speak up and voice her opinion in matters of uncertainty, like this one.

Damon then somewhat regained conciousness but his vision was somewhat blurred. He grunted and tried to move his arm forward, trying to crawl towards his shotgun that fell a few feet away from him.

He suddenly felt a force around him, then lifted off the ground as if strange, dark forces were trying to rip Damon apart. He shook his head and quickly scanned around to see a pony lifting him off the ground of what seemed to be magic. Damon then looked below him and had a mini heart attack. "Oi mate! You do realise that electricity and water don't mix well right? Just lay me down on the ground... Not the water." Damon protested calmly as the wunderwaffe was still on his back.

"Tell me... have you ever heard of a human before? I wouldn't even be surprised in the slightest if you have not. And yes, I know you are ponies.... Speaking of ponies.... Anyone seen a pony called Barrel?" Damon asked all of them.

"What's a Hu-man? Some sort of cake?"

Blitz looked with big eyes at the man who had woken up a little before hitting the water. It was sort of disappointing since she had just started to look forward to seeing how good of a splash he could make, but she knew he was right about electricity and water. It started to get Really wonky when you mixed those two, and yeah, they should have thought about it when that thing Barrel had made was on him, but... Splashy fun.

It didn't take more than him mentioning Barrel before she started to jump in place and ignoring that little oversight with the wunderwaffe in favour of a bigger grin. Whatever this weird guy was, he knew Barrel, and that was good enough for her. Not that she really knew the stallion for more than what... 5 minutes or so, but a friend was a friend, and if this one knew him then he was probably okay. Although it Was sorta weird, since she could've sworn Barrel had said he didn't have anypony to talk with... Oh well.

"You know Barrel? Are you his Friend? Enemy? Tax inspector? Hunter? Partner? Dad?"

A few more guesses rolled towards the guy in a stream, not stopping until somepony else would speak or he was gonna answer, with the questions becoming more and more weird the longer time went on.

Serenade's ears perk up when she hears Princess Luna mention the Library, but she keeps her head down low. She can still smell the Changlings, and it's keeping her on edge. She opens her mouth, then shuts it almost immediately.

Frosty jumped in surprise as the weird fish thing came alive again, talking to him. He hadn't expected a talking fish, after all, fish don't talk. This being wasn't a fish, then. Apparently it was a...Human? Sounds fancy. He still didn't know what that was though.

He levitated the Human, whatever that may be, away from the water and put him gently on the ground.

Then Blitz started firing away questions, not really giving the Human any chance to breath. (If Humans breath, that is.) So I poked Blitz, and whispered: "You might get an answer more quickly if you just let him answer the question..."

Frosty then turned to the Human.

"Er...Yes, we have seen a pony named Barrel...but...he's not here anymore. He sort of got taken away. Inter-dimensional stuff is weird, man. I don't think you'll find him here, if you're looking for 'em."

One by one, the changelings transformed their horns and lowered them into the center of the circle. It was as if this were a coordinated effort having been practiced beforehand. Their horns started to glow, a brighter light forming at the center, which then moved down from the tip of Doctor Xeno's horn to the base of it. The glowing stopped for all of them with Doctor Xeno's going out last, "The connection has been made. Now to repair the damage." He then walked over to Queen Allure, used telekinesis to open her eye, which was moving side to side rapidly. "Oh, Frillflakes. She's in REM sleep. I expected her to just be unconscious, this is a rare case indeed. She's dreaming, which means I'll have to go in and get her. Again, Priestess, I cannot proceed without first asking permission from her medical proxy. Will you allow me to enter her dream?" Miles hoped that his kid friendly cursing equivalent to "fish fingers" would at least get a giggle out of Petey. Throughout his years as a physician, he found that laughter was the most effective means of getting a child to forget they were in pain.

"Somehow she's in the Grove of the Everspirits. I was hoping to save the beauty of that place for when you are finally able to see it. If you go now, you'll sense the some of your surroundings and it will ruin the surprise. I'll go myself, you can return to your dream, unless you really want to go. It's really up to you," Charlie said, hoping that Briar would choose not to go with him, only so he could show him a totally new place with all of its beauty, with no expectations of what it might be like.

Seamore made his deals quickly, managing to agree on 2300 bits for one log and only 1900 bits for the other. The second deal could have gone better, but the first had made up for it. Upon seeing the Changeling Queen, Seamore immediately recognized who it was the same way that you can sometimes sense who just walked into the room you're in without looking. "Shaman, is that you? To answer your question, you're in the Grove of the Everspirits. You're asleep."

To Omen's question Luna answered, "This type of wood is called Everwood, it has extremely high levels of magic and is often used as a source for enchantments and magical items." She could see Serenade's fear. "Don't worry Serenade, the changelings would not dare harm us now. Also, this place was once my home, I know it better than they ever could. They may outnumber us, but they are clearly outmatched when it comes to this castle's magical defenses." She led the way out into the hallway, turning right this time. It was the same hallway they were in earlier, but the door they came out of was farther away from the stairs.

"How do you use it?"

Omen had nodded to the answer she got, listening to what she could of this magical tree. It looked like regular wood to her, but what was told did help to tell why it was used over just actual, regular trees. Or well, it were not exactly like other trees she had seen, but even after Discord's trees were gone and she saw the other ones, there were many sorts, and she couldn't keep track of them all. For all she had known, this was just a weird, but normal tree.

There was a chance it wouldn't stick, but that was how it went sometimes. She had much time ahead of her to relearn if it came to that.

She looked around to where they were now, as Luna had lead them back to the hall from before, though they weren't walking back to where they came from it seemed.

"And where? In a dungeon to hide screams?"

"Very well then Charlie. I shall await that particular treat for another time. I bid you farewell, and may the Earth-mother smile upon you."

With that, Briar bowed deeply to Charlie and closed the door, which would fizzle and disappear soon after as Briar woke up. He would feel rejuvenated, just as Charlie had told him, and after only a few minute to prepare things he went on his way, towards the castle. He would be at the gates at the first light of day.

"Psshhh. I guess? I mean, you've got this far already. I suppose so. As long as it helps her. But if she comes out acting strangely, I'm gonna sue you for malpractice." Priestess wasn't that worried. It's in Allure's dreamscape, meaning she has complete control in that realm. But a little encouragement never hurt.

Allure wondered around... wherever she was. It looked vaguely familiar. "Wasn't this the place where I went and met up with Priestess?" She looked over to the pony that was talking. He looked familiar too. "Wait. I'm asleep? When did I fall asleep? And why am I imagining you as part of my subconscious? I just met you."

summer walked around the 'human' sniffing and looking and she poked him with her hoof 'are you sure you are not a fish?' she asked him, just to be sure. she had never seen anything like it, which kind of creature didn't have anything to protect his skin? wasn't he cold or anything? and how did he know barrel? and why did he have the thing-that-brings-hell-on-earth-weapon-thing which barrel told about. summer found him kind of suspicious but as long as he didn't use the weapon thing it was okay, but still summer found him a little creepy. and she didn't want to show it so she just acted like she was a brave pony and didn't hide behind the bushes.

to get a good look of the human she flew a few times around his head and touched the short manes on his face, but flew then quickly away from him so he couldn't get her if he didn't like what she did and landed on the ground behind frosty, blitz and sapphire. she had enough of the human and she wanted he hear the anwsers on all blitz' questions.

"Okay, now don't be alarmed by what is about to happen to me." Doctor Xeno walked over to Queen Allure, touched his horn to hers, focusing his telepathic magic on her, there was a glow, then he fell limp to the floor, his eyes closed.

"Until we meet again, Briar," Charlie said before walking through the door to the Grove.

Doctor Xeno appeared in the Grove of the Everspirits, having used his telepathic connection to Queen Allure to bring him there. He saw Queen Allure and immediately explained, "Hello, Queen Allure. I'm Doctor Miles Xeno, I've been brought in to treat you, Priestess, and Petey. I used telepathy to connect myself to your dream. Don't try to wake up just yet, I have to repair your connections first." "I see she's in good hooves then. I'll be heading back to my dream now. Just so you know, you're in the Grove of the Everspirits," Seamore said to Miles before heading back out of the Grove through the door as Charlie was coming in. Queen Allure may be able to see a resemblance between Charlie's changeling form and Doctor Xeno. "Kilo? Is that you?... Wait, never mind, you can't be, the eyes and the horn are wrong. I assume you're an Everspirit?" Miles asked Charlie as he arrived. "Yes, I am," Charlie said, a bit confused, not realizing the 'parts' he was shown had once belonged to something living.

"I don't know what working for Discord may have been like, but I assure you that the rest of Equestria is not like him. We don't typically have anypony screaming in our dungeons. As for how it's used, it's either hoof carved or crafted with magic into certain shapes meant to properly channel it's magic, and given an enchantment. The possibilities are without limits as to what the enchantments can be or what they can do." While she spoke, Luna lead the others down the hall turning left toward the general direction of the library.

"Correct. My guess is that when you were hit with the blast of Everwood magic, your telepathic energy tried to find other entities to connect to. Since the Everwood magic was blocking your connection to your hive, the telepathic energy followed along the Everwood magic creating a bond with the Everspirit that the branch was once a part of, as well as any who also have a dream bond with that spirit. It then pulled you toward the new connection in the dream world, forcing you into a dream state. This is the first place an Everspirit ends up after they pass on to the Dream World, so it would make sense that the Everwood magic would carry you here. I'll definitely have to write all of this down. Never before has this kind of energy been used on a Queen while they were broadcasting telepathically. This could be invaluable information. But that aside, with your permission I would like to begin repairing your connection to the hive. Your new dream bonds will remain intact and will not interfere with your telepathy at all." Miles was definitely excited by this new discovery, but he kept his enthusiasm under control. Such information could allow magic users a new way to form dream bonds with each other without having to be in one place.

Omen followed whilst images of how the world had been then went through her head.

"There was no order, no rules. Everything was made or removed by his will, and it changed like night and day, fluttering around without a pattern. I couldn't understand it, but master said I wasn't supposed to either. That chaos was above sense, above right or wrong, and everything would happen because it could.

I never saw everything. Master didn't always want me near, so perhaps something happened that wasn't just chaos, but I never saw it then. Just some getting hurt, some getting better, and master playing his games."

She grew silent for a bit as she remembered how often things changed, and how she had at times wondered if Discord came from a place like her, where everything was in motion, and stability felt unnatural.

"It was all I knew until he was suddenly gone, and the world came to a halt. Light and dark was predictable, seasons were set in stone and everypony slowed down. I kept waiting for things to change again, but they never did. Chaos had disappeared with master, and Equestria felt empty without it.

I don't know if things are better without it. I heard things that sounded worse, but the strange one said there needed balance like that. I still wonder if he was right about that, and about why I can't find master."

Omen grew silent again, but this time it wasn't just a small break. She had answered Luna what it was like for her around Discord, and some of what it had been like when he had suddenly vanished, whilst not finding anything to say about the magical wood. As soon as Luna had said it was so you could put many kinds of magic into it, she understood enough about it to know that much like what Discord used to do, it wasn't something she could guess, or fully fathom. Perhaps when she saw it it would fill another category than *Trinket with many uses* in her head, or perhaps not. She would see eventually.

After being gently put on the ground and not the water, Damon stood and not even to his surprise, he was at least 3 to 4 times their height. He felt like he was in the giant... wait... he felt he was A giant compared to the ponies. Damon was waiting for everyone.... I errr, meant every pony to be quiet and let him answer whatever questions they may have. But it was then the grey, pink maned pony fly around his head like a bee, brushing his short hair. Damon found that quite annoying and was really tempted to swat her away like a bug... But... he didn't. Instead, once she went behind the others, Damon just looked at her with an annoyed expression, "Do you mind? What was that for anyways?"

He shook his head and rubbed his forehead in frustration, "Erghh.. Don't answer that..."

"Look... Firstly, I aint no god damn... FISH! DO I HAVE GILLS? HUH?" Damon was about to erupt into an angry rant. He then took a few deep breaths and calmed himself... "I'm sorry... Its just where I came from, it was like 4 in the morning... I have had no sleep, barely eaten and had a nice, fresh drink of water for a few days and just trying to find Barrel is... Frustrating. Okay? Oh, and if you're wondering where I came from... It's just another dimension like yours but mines... well... gone to hell. The undead rose and consumed everything in its path... I need Barrel to well fix everything. I am only one of the few humans left alive."

Damon paused and then continued, "I knew Barrel for a long time... for as long as I could remember. I found him in a cardboard box as he was only just a baby. I raised him as my own, like a pet. But to my surprise, he talked. Blah, blah, blah... moments were made, blah blah blah... I'll cut to the chase here... Large, multinational company finds Barrel, takes him away from me for experiments, they go wrong, all hell brakes loose... You get the idea." Damon gave a sigh and sat down.

"I... I just want him back... I want to return to my home... my old life... my family." Damon confessed to the other ponies.

"And I know Barrel has seemingly has either been brainwashed into thinking he is a smelly drunk, whose parents abused him... Or his life got some sort of reset... I don't know." Damon looked down and wanted to cry a little.

"From what I've been told, Princess Luna used Everwood magic on you, so it would have happened quickly. I'm guessing you didn't want to drop your disguise? She did the same thing to me when we first met. Celestia had to stop her from blasting me away. I was in the castle because Celestia had an appointment with me, and she had ordered me not to reveal myself in front of the Guards, for my safety. Apparently the day before, one of Chrysalis's spies was discovered posing as one of the Royal Guards. This was not too long before Cadence and Shining Armor's wedding and they had put up a shield around Canterlot because of it. All it did to me was force me out of my disguise though. It has a totally different effect on Queens," Miles explained. Charlie just watched curiously, wanting to see how the doctor would repair her connections. "Again, I must ask, do you wish me to begin reconstructing your telepathic bonds?"

Early the next morning, Seamore was waiting at the front door of the castle. The sky was a bit dark due to the clouds that were still there from the night before. It wasn't raining anymore though, which was a plus. Seamore saw Briar approaching from the distance, "Good morning Briar!" he yelled as Briar was still a good distance from reaching the rope bridge. Seamore crossed the bridge just in case Briar needed some help finding his way across.

Briar perked up a bit hearing the familiar voice, though he didn't speed up more for that reason as he began moving away from the bushes and into the clearer field around the bridge.

"And a good morning to you Seamore."

Going towards the start of the bridge he could already hear the swinging, somewhat creaky construction to cross. Though he wasn't a radar per se, the sounds would help him get a good *visual* on said passage, whilst the wind would help him well in telling where the edges were so he didn't go over the side. It would have been another tale if the winds had blows with the power of a storm, but as with many other days, it currently flowed rather gently, so that would not be an issue.

"No need to be alarmed, he's a good pony."

The words were lower, and clearly more meant for somepony else than the approaching Seamore. In this case, Brittle that slowly made her way out of the bushes behind her and sent a few, nervous glances towards the lumberjack ahead of them.

She kept somewhat covered by Briar as they came to a halt near the edge of the bridge, the Evergrown sending Seamore a warm, toothy smile as the first now that they no longer had to raise their voices to hear eachother.

"I must admit Seamore, I had assumed you would still be sleeping at this point. Not many I have met that awakens fresh so soon after the sun have risen, unless of course they have some work that needs to be done before others will get their bearings. In a sense we do have that though, as the seeds needs to be taken care off, so perhaps I have already answered my own inquiry in a sense.

But I digress. Before we move on to our work at hoof though, I'd like you to meet a friend of mine. Her name is Brittle Buzz. Considering how things went yesterday, I felt that perhaps it was better if I asked her to come along instead of her worrying while I am suddenly gone for a half day more than I anticipated."

Though it had come up a good deal of times since, Briar had not been around for the major part of hearing that Everwood wasn't good to be near for Changelings, so when he had woken up and she was going outside of the cave to get a bit to drink, he had offered her near instantly to come along and see the planting of the seeds, as well as meet the others that had taken him along the night before. There were many fascinating beings for her to meet, and overall they were a friendly bunch - even if he had to make sure Missklang kept some distance to her, just in case - so it seemed like a good idea.

If it were that he actually Did hear some of the details about Changelings and Everwood, it had vanished along with some other parts of his dreams, like such things tend to do if you were not focused on them. Though, as long as one of them did not hit her it should hopefully be okay.

After you said your piece, the orb exploded in a flash of light and something was inscribed on your right paw: a flower symbol. Then you both were back on the ground and Dyr looked like she had just gotten a good rest.

"Ah~ much better." She commented as she stretched and did some warm up moves with her large scythe. "Okay... now where is this place you mentioned just now?"

Dyr looked around and you noticed a similar brand on her right paw too.

Syo yawned as she got up from her sleep and she walked sleepily over to the bridge.

"Nya... good morning." Syo yawned as she stretched and swaggered about sleepily on all 4 fours, her key staff was nowhere in sight and she was not wearing her dress anymore but she still carried her satchel.

After she cleared the surrounding of her eyes for dirt, she looked up and saw Briar and Seamore and a new entity.

"Hello there Brittle Buzz," Seamore said, keeping some questions to himself as he could see that she was definitely very shy, possibly even more shy than Fluttershy. Directing his attention back to Briar he said, "I got plenty of rest traveling through the Dream Realm. Last night, somepony, I'm not supposed to say who, showed up out of nowhere and bought one of the logs. She insisted on paying twice what they're worth so we got four thousand bits for it. She also decided to deseeded it herself. I found the seeds in my cart this morning. But anyway, I counted out the bits and each of us will be getting five hundred bits for the first log alone. If the deals I made last night don't fall through, that will only be about half of what we each get." While he was saying this, he started slowly walking back across the bridge, trying to guide Briar with the sound of his voice. He new that if he offered to help him, it would be implying that Briar couldn't handle things on his own, but he also knew that Briar could most likely use any help he could get.

Allure processed this information. "Princess Luna..." It all started to come back to her, as a look of worry began to manifest. "My family! I have to get back! They're in danger, with her and that siren still around!" She began to panic.

Back in the waking world...

"Now, that that I don't trust any of you, but I don't trust any of you. And I'm sleepy. So, we'll be taking everyling here, and hold ourselves up for the night." She put her muzzle underneath the saddle crates and slid them over onto her back. "You eight, crowdsurf your queen over to Sunbutt's room. You four, carry the good doctor along with them. Oh and if Moonbutt asks, just remember to mention to her the international dibs code." She picked Petey up in her jaws and began to march out with the changelings.

They traversed the hallways in a caravan, rounding corner after corner, until the reached Celestia's room. The room had already been secured and inspected before hoof. The door was magicked open, and both the Queen and her doctor were carried in, with Priestess closing the door behind her with her tail.

She set Petey down on the plush chair inside. "Put her on the bed. The doc... you can put him wherever." The lings hovered into the air and delicately laid their queen on the, probably, queen sized mattress. The other lings just nonchalantly dropped Miles onto the floor. "Now you four, guard the door. Rotate in shifts of 8 hours. The rest, remain near in case." The all saluted and buzzed out the door. Priestess walked towards the bed and stepped onto it, curling up beside Allure. She began stroking the changelings face with her long tail. "Everything is going to be alright, my beloved."

"Calm down. The children are safe. The Princess and the siren are no longer in the room. Luna probably didn't mean to hurt you, but one thing I can be sure of is that she would never allow harm to come to a child, no matter what." Miles tried to comfort Queen Allure as best he could.
