Frosty jumped as the human got angry. He was tempted to say that gills aren't always in plain sight, but didn't. It didn't seem like that would improve the humans mood. Instead he just stood there, watching what was happening, prepared to do something in defense if the human became aggressive. The human calmed down though, and Frosty listened to his story, feeling a bit bad for him that his home got...eaten? It sounded very bad though.

"It's going to be alright, Mr. Human," Frosty said, trying to cheer up the human, "The weird thing that took Barrel seemed like it didn't want to hurt Barrel too much, and he...needed him to save...something? So I think it'll be alright."

"Any Demon can sound nice. but few actually are. Be especially weary of the ones that shows up when you are in distress and feeling desperate, as they are there to make an easy sale. Take it from one who have been on the side of the desperate and foolish: They will not show to care about you, but to gain something themselves."

That was not to say that All deals made by Demons was bound to be a trap. Some were rather honest, and a few could be of a better standing than their deceiving kind, but neither of those would show themselves to the desperate. No, that would be the old and powerful amongst them that had gotten to where they were from knowing how to ensnare fools quickly and efficiently, and they would scare the better and weaker amongst them off from an easy deal nearly without exception.

"As for the spirits, you won't hear them say anything. Shamans and spirit guides tend to be the only, non-Reapers that can understand them, and generally they don't want a deal, they want to move onwards to the afterlife, but can't let go of this world.

Given enough time, they tend to grow angry and violent, which is where poltergeists come from, but before that they mostly just exist in several stages of confused, unwilling to give up the realm of the living, and wailing in pain and sorrow. It's one of the reasons why those like me exist to help them move on, either by talking it out with them, or forcing them along.

Though trust me, as important as it is to get done, it is not a task anypony should envy. Seeing the dead walk amongst you, looking like they did when they died, is a scarring experience whilst growing up, and trying to comfort something that nopony else can see will make others think you are crazy, or in case you can make them believe you, creepy.

There's also the fact that whilst Shamans have it easy with speaking with the ancestors by training, spirit guides and collectors gain their *gift* by being very close to death themselves at a young age, or loose everypony they loved later on in life. The stress of either of those hits on more levels than the psychological and physical, and it tends to break you a little inside.

That's not saying all that goes through that will be like this, but it is the open door for it. Whatever or not something steps through that door is either up to chance, or the choice of a power beyond my comprehension."

She didn't comment on the thing with Luna since she wasn't entirely sure how that realm worked in juction with the other worlds out there. It seemed like it might include multiple worlds, which would put it as a higher plane instead of another world per se, but if it were many worlds, Luna should have to be constantly busy alongside the spirits to keep everything intact.

More than likely it was a higher plane in several layers, with each layer being only visible to the ones whose worlds were connected to their home, but that set in the question about a fragmented higher realm and that was a discussion for more theorising beings than her. She might know some that she had picked up during her years, but she wasn't one of those who wanted all the answers, which left her with sometimes being unable to answer questions. Such a now.

"Okay."

Omen put the books down where she found them and began looking around for those that were green, and started with the sign that Luna had shown her. It wouldn't go fast, but she would find some here and there, though not fast enough to get a pile over to check again that soon. At her own pace, it would likely take around 20 minutes before she had a good enough stack to get checked by Luna, though they would likely have found the right one before that. They'd see.

Over at Serenade, it seemed like some sort of semblance of an order had seeped through to Ziggy, so she followed Serenade closely, still looking dazed and a little sluggish, but looking at the top shelves where the Siren wouldn't be able to reach in her current disguise nevertheless.

Senlin wandered around the outskirts of the Everfree Forest. He hoped to get some rest from his journey but was unsure about going into Ponyville. He settled to venture into the forest to make a temporary shelter but as he searched for a suitable tree to rest his weary head, he caught glimpse of a strange light. Disturbed and likely unable to sleep, he followed it and hoped his long lost sister Lin would be there.

His sister was not where the light was but before him stood a castle.

Serenade fights off a yawn, and searches the lower shelves. Blinking rapidly, she eventually stumbles headlong into one of the bookcases. "Um...Princess. Is this the book your looking for?" She pulls a faded leather-jacketed book from it's spot, it's title extremely faded but the words Elegant Everwood Enchantments Revised can just be made out. Serenade does a double take on the title of the book next to it, but shrugs it off.

"...Dragon?"

The whispering voice would sound somewhat hesitant and curious inside Senlin's head as Omen quietly wandered from the old stone she had stood behind when the odd creature had shown. She had felt somepony was there, and had moved past it only to be faced with another creature she didn't know.

"No, Dragons look different... Pony?"

She didn't have much speed in her step, but it wasn't needed either. They weren't too far away from eachother - otherwise he wouldn't be able to hear her voice in his head - and if she had a reason for it she could be over at him in a matter of a few seconds, provided he didn't start to move, in which case she'd stop her wandering and just keep looking at him as she did now: With curiosity in the unblinking, pale-grey eyes and otherwise just a neutral face. He wouldn't find judgement there, though the sudden presence might make him react somehow.

You never knew how anypony would react to an unwanted presence after all.

A few seconds went by with whisperings that sounded both incomprehensible, in several tongues, and would quite frankly be impossible to recreate without three extra mouths for normal beings. However, it did vaguely sound like she said Ki'Nathar if he focused on trying to find meaning in her native tongue, and while that wasn't a word that would hold any meaning in Equestria, it would give a name to go by at least.

"You are... Pony and Dragon? Not like master, but a mixed one still?"

She stopped, about a meter from him, and sniffed the air.

"No, not like him. Different. Unique."

It was a shame. Even if she wasn't sure if she would want to find master when the time came, it would have been interesting to find something like him, but this one wasn't. Too uniform and even, and the whiff of Chaos wasn't tangling him like it were with Discord. A pity, but still, she were curious.

"Who are you?"

During the moments when she spoke, her voice never carried anything else than the occasional emotion of curiosity when going through his head. It was even, unfazed, and a little hollow. Not like she were dead, but more akin to a blank mind just saying the facts that she knew, combined with a childish curiosity.

Vivid stopped up and looked into the empty room that Crescent had accidentally opened an entrance to. Or well, Empty was saying a lot, considering the immense number of books, but there were no other living being in there at least.

"Old knowledge... Ancient words of power, free for the taking..."

She took a few steps more towards the library, but stopped about two steps before she would potentially stomp on Crescent.

The potential in an old library like that had a draw in her for a reason. She was a being of old power and had an innate want to expand that, as well as find a book containing the knowledge she needed about shielding herself better from the cold of this realm, and every logical fiber in her body spoke that this would be the place for her to go for that knowledge. Hell, for Any knowledge worth mentioning that had happened from anywhere between a few centuries to several millennia.

Granted, it looked rather dusty on the small part she saw right now, and the library was currently inside a ruin, which didn't scream that any new knowledge was to be found there, but that was just a plus more for her. It saved her from having to sift through anecdotal boredom on paper and get some actual reading material worth her time.

Though, this would have to wait. Much as she felt the pull in her for going in there and get lost in ancient scripts, she had a deal to finish as it stood now. Perhaps later when she had the time, it could be discussed to return, but for now it was out of the quest-

Her ears gave a small shake, as if she heard something, and she started to move forward again, distracted but making sure not to wander into/unto Crescent.

"The calling beckons me... Come, follow me."

With that she wandered into the library, going to the deeper parts of the room whilst seemingly following a call even Crescent would not be able to hear. Or see for that matter, though he might begin to understand why as they went through the room and Vivid more or less ignored the books.

The word Everwood was the only clear one, though if the rest fitted, Ziggy didn't know about right now. Granted, she didn't know anything really considering she was under the Siren's spell, but she had recognised some of what Serenade had been looking for and picked it out. It might just be another reprint, but if it weren't, she would just let it go and get back to the shelf again, assisting her temporary mistress in her task.

Even though Discord were a being that didn't find deceit and half truths far out of his grasp, he hated being the subject of it himself. It might be that she were still not sure whatever or not she wanted to find master again, but the things he had taught her was very ingrained at this point, and she had heard many times mothers speak to their foals about telling the truth, so this - amongst many other things - was things she wouldn't change, even if lies sometimes were better.
