I can't believe Sunset Shimmer won guys. She won against Celestia, who has been a major supporting character since the very beginning of the show. After almost 8 days of seemingly endless suspense ...

This pony right here ... who used to be popularly recognized as the WORST VILLAIN ever to appear on the MLP:FIM franchise ... surpassed the almighty and benevolent princess of the sun (she was Twilight's freakin mentor for god sakes!). And yet, our beloved sunbutt, our sunny beauty that now shimmers with beauty, adorableness, personality, and kindness every time we see her -- thanks to Rainbow Rocks -- has managed to earn her way into becoming the newest emoticon.

Seriously, though, I hope that Sunset's redemption is not going to keep being a thing, because what more do they want from her? If see is confronted with reminders of her past in, say another power-hungry magic user, than that's great, but I think the Human 5 should be trusting her more by now.

I mean everyone went through what she is--> A big mistake that nobody wants t foorget nomatter how hard you try.

Also being rejected by ceratin groups in school is very relatable and you feel very sorry for her

Just a general topic: why do you guys love Sunset Shimmer?

I loved her as a villain in the first EQG for her snark and awesome character design (though she could be a little cliche at times), but mainly for her character development in Rainbow Rocks I love how she doesn't try and make excuses for what she did, she's genuinely trying to be a better person but it's hard for her to prove that when nobody will give her a chance. I also think it's very relatable how she is with the HuMane 6 - she's really happy to have them as friends but it's that awkward stage where she's new to the group, so she doesn't want to interfere too much when they fight (even when she's right) because she feels like it's not her place - and that only gets worse when Twilight comes back, it's very easy and understandable for Sunset to be jealous of her (the whole Celestia's prize pupil thing), but she is nothing but supportive and nice to her. I like to think that maybe the Dazzlings reminded Sunset of how she used to be, and made her more determined to show everyone that she's changed and not going to let someone else rule the school/world the way she used to any more. Which makes it all the more epic when she finally takes the mic in Welcome To The Show~

Because she's just Sunset Shimmer...and Sunset Shimmer is love, Sunset Shimmer is life!

 

Being serious now, I just really like her down to earth personality and that I can relate to doing something that I later regret, her character design is also very beautiful.
