You know, that's a very good question. The only thing we've ever seen Sunset eat was a sandwich that lacked meat, and that happened at the end of Friendship Games. Maybe she still desires hay despite no longer being a pony, but maybe her bodily functions on the inside changed to accommodate her current form.

 

If she can't eat hay anymore, Sunset will be very upset.

Sunset could explain her not wanting to eat meat because a lot of people don't so, that's easy enough.

 

But, hay and flowers? that's gotta be tough.

Maybe Sunset has regressed her desire for hay and flowers considering she's had to change her diet in order to fit in as a human. When in Rome, do as the Romans do.

It looks to me like Sunset's either watching a sad movie or her system can't handle the ice cream & she's in pain.

And her sandwich contains no meat as far as we can see. I wonder what her reaction would be if she were to be given a chance to eat meat. She is still a pony despite being human and ponies don't eat meat.

They don't eat a lot of things, apparently. (I looked it up.) 

 

Also, the pizza Sunset and the others were eating at the sleepover was vegetarian, I think.
