Currently listening to Violin Concerto in F Minor, Op. 8/4, RV. 297 - The Four Seasons by Vivaldi. It is absolutely beautiful.

 

 

Two of my favorite genres are technical death metal, and classical music. While both are, on the surface, vastly different listening experiences, I have found fascinating connections between those two different styles at a deeper level. Both feature complex, expressive melodies that have far more room for expressive power than most other genres I have listened to.

 

Alternating between listening to classical music and technical death metal allows me to observe similarities between them, which in turn only deepens my appreciation of both genres even more.

Listening to the technical death metal song Incarnated by Obscura from their album Cosmogenesis right now. The fact that the band chose to sing this song with harsher vocals than they usually use - while this song's lyrics are some of the most beautiful I have heard by them so far - is intriguing.
