Picked 17. I really like the pop art thing going on, though I don't think they should have change her hair color.

 

Now why would you say that they put a lot of effort into creating that banner? Please elaborate on such claims, because from what I see, it takes barely four minutes to recreate. There must be some sort of misconception.

But it's a fact that the background was taken directly from the show, and the only things changed is a possible relocation of the vector, a barrel placement and an extension of a wooden sign saying MLPForums.

Thank you. I didn't enter this time (All of my banners that I tried sucked) but I agree; the theme was APPLEJACK, not APPLEJACK AND RAINBOW DASH. And as you said, the background was taken directly from the show, a gradient or two was added, and some words... as said, I agree 100%.

To be honest, this might sound a bit outrageous but.. I, personally think, that banner #9 should be disqualified. Does everyone remember a specific someone asking for themes? A theme is a theme, and the theme for this banner competition is Applejack.

 

There's no rule that says the banner can't include other characters. The topic said to be as creative as you like.

 

I'm not saying you're incorrect, but if the entry is to be disqualified, the rules should be adjusted to clarify that technicality.

A theme is a theme, it should mainly focus on the theme. Banner #9 is 50% Applejack, 50% Rainbow Dash. For all I know, he/she could use that banner in a Rainbow Dash theme competition.

I would've picked 14 if it wasn't disqualified.

 

I pick 9. I love the apples and the autumn background. Apples were a big part of the fall time in my hometown, and apples always make me think of fall.

I picked up 17. It was IMO most original one and I really like originality in such things. Also that color change for Applejack's hat and mane looks pretty nice on the banner :3

I don't think it would be fair to disqualify #9. True...I'd rather see AJ more in the limelight than anypony else but I think it's a fantastic banner that shows a bit of friendship and love.

I have to agree, that banner is well made, but it does not fit a theme. It was supposed to be a banner about an Applejack and something tells me some people will not even notice Applejack and pretend like she's not there. That must not  happen. My opinion is that #9 should just be submitted another time when it will fit theme of such competition.

Disqualifying might sound harsh, but it can be resubmitted on better occasion when it suits more theme. I am not going to argue with majority, I just think it is kinda unfair that when Applejack gets her chance to shine she is forced to share her honorable place with another character. 

I mean, what if it was Rarity themed competition and winner would be Rarity AND *insert random pony*? Kinda unfair IMO.

took me a while to come to a decision, I voted for 13 but 9 is definitely the better choice, I see now. It has a bit more of a fall feeling to it, but the real deal breaker is AJ and Rainbow Dash running together, which is what the show (and community) is about-friendship. Also obviously it shows the episode Fall Weather Friends.

All of these entries were really nice (other favorites of mine were 19, 20, and 21)

Applejack is a very unique character on the show in that she is so specifically linked to her family, her farm, and two other specific characters of the Mane Six. #9 and #19 do capture this concept beautifully. Truth be told, I could see myself voting for almost all of these banners.

 

19 though .... I really like the approach.

These are all so beautiful, I'm in apple heaven! Seriously hard to choose just one, but I went with 19.

So many great entries!!! My favorites are definitely 9, 11, 13 and 19, of course they're all amazing for sure!! But I had honestly had to go with 9, it just look amazing, I love it so much and I can definitely picture it as our new banner, soooo good!!!! But great job to everyone who entered!! Props to you for trying!
