Trolling (Discussion about a Video by TheMysteriousMrEnter)

I am about to say something so serious to me, I thought it belonged in the Debate Pit for things I may say if you go against what this video states within the review, but decided that it might not be controversial enough to need to be there.

Before I saw this video, I thought trolls were not nearly as bad as cyber-bullying, that tolls were just something you could easily ignore.

I have never felt so wrong in my entire life...

This video opened my eyes to alot of things, to alot of feelings I thought I had locked up inside so far I would never see them again.

I ask, no, I beg of you, keep talking about this video. Give your own analysis on the video being reviewed. Do ANYTHING to keep this thread on top of the front page. This, to me, is a serious issue that has left me feeling so alone and so afraid as a person who spends his whole life on the internet.

I completely understand. Besides the video, MrEnter is actually the core reason I even tried out MLP in the first place, & The reason I did that is because I like his outlook on things for the most part. He couln't be more accurate with his analysis. Anyone who finds pleasure in making others suffer in my book loose the right to be called human, & should be treated as such. I don't have the answer, but until I or someone else out there does, the only thing we can do is to wage the war & balance their energy out as best we can with kindness.

I saw this video today and I agree with it. Some people on the internet just try to hard to get a reaction from people by trolling and attacking them, well hiding behind the first amendment. Like how people take hate for something infamous way too far.

People today don't know what poetry is. "Greatest today", "greatest ever" ? total nonsense.

But yes the point the person is trying to make is important. If you wanted an extreme solution, young kids shouldn't be using the internet at all. The only other alternative I could see would be mass censorship, but is that really what we want?

Yeah, I used to be on board with that whole "lol, it's just the internet" mentality, but it just got old after awhile. I spent time in internet communities similar to 4chan where that attitude was prevalent, and it was all just endless posturing and mean spiritedness. I bought into the idea that causing a little chaos was good and that in a weird way we were helping people by making them get thicker skins and correct whatever weird behavior they had that we deemed unacceptable and worthy of mocking.

It just left me all bitter and nasty inside.

My hope is that someday this attitude will diminish somewhat as more people grow up with the internet as a major part of their life, and people will no longer view the internet as "just the internet".

The sites they troll are failing to act as well. For instance this site, which holds one of the most hated online fandoms out there, hardly ever gets much in the way of trolls because they are promptly silenced and removed from the picture. Youtube is one of the worst harbingers of trolls out there and not everyone can go toe to toe with them without feeding into their sick game.

give people the tools to filter words, phrases, and users that are like that and you take away a lot of power the trolls have.

I used to be a fan of Mr. Enter, until one of his "The Reason You Suck" speeches in his Mr. Pickles review. I do agree with how bad Mr. Pickles is, but hearing him comparing it to a failed student kind of hurts, considering that I'm one and don't make shit like Mr. Pickles.

Dumb rant aside, I can tell that Mr. Enter has made this Admirable Animation based on some silly Internet moment. He did that with his April 9th review after getting tired of the "it's for kids" excuse, he made a previous video about dealing with trolls, he made a rant about some MLP:FiM reviewer called Byter and now he made this. He gets waaay too offended, in my opinion. -3-

I can't say I agree with this recent review either. I'm sorry, but to me, the easiest way to deal with trolls is to ignore them. He says that it doesn't work that way, but it really does if you're not offended by things or if you're Internet famous. I guess everyone has a different way of dealing with trolls, but that's how I'd rather deal with them.

If you agree with his review, fine by me. I just find this review to be really ridiculous, as it feels as if Mr. Enter likes to think that he thinks that every single troll is like that.
