Anneal 2,197 June 11, 2016 Share June 11, 2016 This is Anaheim, CA. It may not be dramatic as some of the beautiful places posted here, but we have our castles too. That green patch in the middle is Disneyland, with a castle at its center. Nice, I live in the same county as you do. Here's Newport Beach, California: That island in the center would be Balboa Island, and there's a lot of rustic shops and classy restaurants on the island and coasts. The CA Highway 1 runs through here, and most people here tend to be rather affluent; luxurious homes lay around the beach's mountainside. There's also Fashion Island, one of the richest malls around the county. But really, even though I technically live in Newport Beach, I'm actually on the border of another city, Irvine: It's moderately large, with a population of around 250K. This is where one of the better known universities, UCI (University of California: Irvine) is, and the city is as affluent as Newport Beach. The population is much more mixed here; non-Hispanic whites are no longer the majority, and 40% of the population is Asian while 10% is Hispanic. Crime here is extraordinarily low, which is why Irvine ranks in the top 10 safest cities in the U.S. Other noteworthy things... The Irvine Spectrum. Blizzard Entertainment H.Q. Yes, they are the people that made you Overwatch, Starcraft, and Hearthstone, and WoW. And the Great Park, which used to be a WWII and Cold War USMC air station. That orange sphere is actually a massive balloon. If you drive into Irvine you might just see it.

The Diver 760 January 5, 2017 Share January 5, 2017 I am from a small (at least it was when I was a small person) fishing town called Gig Harbor in Washington State! The salmon fishing fleet that travels to Alaska every year. But I spend most of my time in Seattle! 3 "I could have been happy above if I'd never donned the copper carapace and dipped my head beneath the waves to hear the muddled man-made sounds. Distorted and dreamlike droning. The whir and thrashing of a distant propeller, the tumultuous thundering thud of fogbound freighters. Mud underfoot, no sights, except the grasp of a diver's trained hand, dreaming of distant lands knowing all the while this is what I love, not the blue skies and wondering faces above. Canvas, rubber, brass, copper, and glass. Leather and lead, mud and sweat, heaving around in dark, damp depths seldom seen by most yet talked about by all. As if a sunny, happy place where mermaids and seahorses play and chests of gold are lain bare, untarnished by salt and time for all to grasp who are bold enough to go below..." -"Deep Sea Diver", Steven L. BlueStreak98 828 January 5, 2017 Share January 5, 2017 (edited) I grew up in Newark, Ohio, or "Nerk Ahia" as the locals would say. A shot of downtown from the county courthouse, which sits in a square in the middle. The courthouse itself is very pretty. The vagrants that like to sleep on the park benches out front are... less so. Newark is also home to the world's largest basket, which is every bit as ridiculous as it looks. It's also currently abandoned, since the company that built it downsized and moved out. Currently, I live in Columbus, the state capital of Ohio. Columbus is one of the fastest growing and most prosperous cities in the country right now (and also one of the most gay-friendly, if that's your sort of thing). It also has a cathedral that was once the tallest building in the world. It's also near very RAF Waddington which is home to the Red Arrows
DJStrike 30 January 6, 2017 Share January 6, 2017 I would like to say hello from ridiculously tiny and dull, but weird town of Sneads, Florida. Y'all live in such beautiful places while I'm just here with the lake and swamp. The most interesting thing about where I live is the fact we got people from all over the country living her. Just at my church, Victory, our youth pastor is from North Carolina and his wife is from California. We also, at one point, had a preacher from Ohio and are church is one of the smallest around. Alecks T. Quagga 59 January 6, 2017 Share January 6, 2017 Anyways, post photos of the city you live in! Show it off and such. I live in the city of Kelowna, British Columbia in Canada, it is a very beautiful place to live. Hot in the summers and somewhat mild winters. It is located in the interior of BC. Looking east. Looking west. Looking north. So post yours! Gorgeous! So many nice cities in Canada. I live in a podunk little town called Marengo located in Ohio and I kid you not it is a craptacular little town that is slowly dying thanks to one store being put in recently (thank you Dollar General). Looking downtown. My old home school that is now abandoned and they use the gymnasium as a flea market. (yay for rednecks) Campgrounds just outside town where they also hold trapshooting competitions.....at a campgrounds >_< They actually have really good food here. This is located next to the campgrounds.

nolongerabout 403 January 6, 2017 Share January 6, 2017 I live in Thornbury, England. It's a small town, but notable in that there's a famous castle here. Unfortunately some bastard company bought it in the seventies and turned it into a shit hotel, removing a lot of the original features and even demolishing half of one of the towers. Still, most of the northern courtyard is in unrestored condition. The castle itself was never actually finished, as King Henry VIII chopped the owner's head off before completion and seized the land. The place isn't great, but has the best chippy for miles. And that's good enough for me. 1 "Deaf?
