I've always thought Metallica albums were generally half great, half bad/mediocre. Death Magnetic was the most consistently good of the bunch.

I loved every single song on Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, and ...And Justice For All. Can't say the same about any of their other albums, though.

Turn On The Bright Lights is easily one of my favorite rock albums from the 2000's.

 

 

 

 

Can't say I've ever heard of this artist, but I recently found this song, and I've been replaying it a lot.

When it comes to punk, there are very few who were as important and influential as Richard Hell.

Also, been on a total Eagles/Anathema binge lately. My hype for the Eagles concert on October 1st is growing stronger every day.

 

 

I'd HIGHLY recommend ANYONE give this song combo a listen-to. It's simply fantastic.

Bowling For Soup is pretty much badass, and while the genre of music they play generally...isn't, they manage to make it work for me in a lot of different ways. 

 

This is definitely my favorite song by them. I listened to it nonstop my Sophomore year because a girl I *really* liked moved north. It wasn't to Ohio, but I was pretty heartbroken about it. I ended up listening to this song and imagined myself playing it as if it were my own to try and get her back down to this state...wah

U2, with Tool being a *very* close second Just can't top the memories and attachment I have with that band.

 

 

Nothing will be able to top the memories I had as a child, going out past midnight with my dad in his truck and just playing "War" without skipping a track until early in the morning. He was a very calm man, but there's no way he wasn't stressed. I think that was an escape for him, but those memories are some of the things I think about often and miss dearly.

 

When I was 10 and he passed away, that copy of the CD survived the crash intact. It played a little bit, and I listened to it, but a couple of weeks after he passed away it stopped playing. Still have that copy of the album here on my bookshelf, too.

 

Special, special band that was the definitive sound of a special, special time in my life.

Feeling a bit down. Decided to put this song on.

 

 

There's something strangely beautiful about it. It's one of those ones I find hard to put into words, but I can feel passion in it. Passion that's not in BTE's other songs - I don't really know the story behind it, nor do I know the lyrics behind it, but I will say that this is a very beautiful song in its own way
