Incomplete episodes

Are there any episodes you think are not complete and what you would add to complete it?

One is Hearth's Warming Eve because I think there should've been gift giving to make it a more complete Christmas themed episode. They showed free candy is given out on Nightmare Night so it would've made sense to show gift giving in Hearth's Warming Eve. I mean every Christmas themed episode of kids shows showed gift giving.

Another one I think of is Crystal Empire because we weren't shown that Cadance was told to rule the Empire like from Celestia. I mean we heard one pony see her as the Crystal Princess but that's it. I think Cadance should've sent a letter to Celestia and get one back saying the empire was hers to rule over. The first time watching I didn't know she was going to rule the empire. And I guess you could also say Sombra needed more backstory.

Another one I can think of is Equestria Games because we didn't see much of the actual games but instead more of Spike. I just thought it would've been better if we saw more of the games.

I don't recall any episodes that abruptly cut to the credits, or have storyboard panels replacing missing scenes.

That's probably because it wasn't a Christmas episode. The whole point of it was to show the history of Equestria, while quickly establishing what Equestria's Not-Christmas was on the side. And even if they cut all the shots where candy was given in Nightmare Night for time constraints, the episode wouldn't necessarily be incomplete.

Apparently that little bit of information, which by the way wouldn't have made a difference to the story if mentioned earlier, (and the episode eventually establishes it anyway) was the glue that would've held the episode together. I guess the show needs more exposition dumps.

I always felt there was something missing in HWE. For a holiday that's supposed to the Equestrian equivalent of Christmas, the Christmas theme felt unnecessary and out of place. And the 3rd act of the episode felt off, especially the incredibly out of nowhere heel-face turn for the 3 leaders(makes the Trixie/Sunset Shimmer redemptions feel fantastic)

Sweet and Elite comes to mind. I've always thought that Rarity got off easy since it was never actually revealed to Twilight that she had lied and actually intended to skip her party in favor of the garden party. I think that just makes this episode incomplete since the only thing Rarity ended up taking away from it was that she shouldn't be ashamed about where she's from. She should have also learned that her friendships are more important than shallow fame and popularity.

Furthermore, I would honestly like to know how Twilight would have reacted if Rarity confessed.

I agree w ExperimentalMLPguy.  Episode 65 should definitely have been a 2 parter.  They shorted the whole question of how Cutie Marks work & the relationship between Cutie Marks & the abilities they confer.  Also, am I the only one to think that, since Pinkie grew up on a farm, she should have been better at working AJs farm?  OK, maybe not picking fruit, but the rest of the stuff should have been things she knew.

Also "Suited For Success", I could see a scene where Dash & Pinkie "convinced" the reviewer to give Rarity a 2nd chance (Threw a sack over him & dragged his behind back to Ponyville, that's how they did it.  Masters of tact & diplomacy, those 2) +maybe a bit more explanation that R did not design those dresses, she just made what her friends wanted. + Nobody commented (to Celestia) how ugly they thought the official designer gowns were?

Over a Barrell.

This episode is always such an uncomfortable one for me to watch because the situation depicted in it is an obvious parallel of real disputes that have been going on in our world for hundreds of years and still have not been resolved in a way that makes everyone happy. Land claim disputes between North American First Nations People and Settler Decendants are still very real and very complicated, especially here in Canada. The wounds are still fresh, the pain is still throbbing, and there is still a lot of healing to be done. And it's about more than land (more than I want to put in a post or it will be too long for anyone to read).

So the episode feels incomplete to me because they took the idea of "Cowboys and Indians" and oversimplified the story to teach a lesson about sharing. It was okay in the universe of the show because the Buffalo only had one problem with what the Settler ponies were doing, and it was only a failure to comunicate that kept them from coming to an agreement for so long. Once the Mane 6 got the two sides talking, they made friends and everything was good. The Settler ponies never commited genocide against the Buffalo. They didn't kidnap their young and force them into residential schools where they were physically and sexually abused and had their language and culture taken away. The Settler ponies didn't do everything they could to anhialate Buffalo culture and way of life. They didn't force the Buffalo to assimilate or live on crappy "reserves" (ie: the worst land ever). All the Settler ponies did was accidentally plant some trees on the Buffalos' stampeding grounds. But since the events in the show are loosely based on real world events, the episode feels like a slap in the face to the real people who are affected by and trying to deal with the real problem.

Obviously, I don't think bringing up genocide and racism in a kids show is a good idea, but they could have found another way to make the problems between the two groups more complex. I just feel like the issue should have matched the real world issue it was paralleling in weight. And honestly, we still haven't figured out how to solve these real world disputes so maybe they should have just left it simple, but changed the characters to something other than "Cowboys and Indians". I think they should have kept the Old West setting but just made the problem be between two feuding Cowboy pony gangs (because Braeburn is adorable and everybody loves him) or two feuding Buffalo tribes.

I love this show to pieces but that episode is the one that makes me embarrassed to be a fan.
