Working towards getting all my weapons to G-Rank before hitting Gathering Hall G-Rank quests. Then I'll just farm G-rank Narga equipment real quick and work to G3 for Amatsu gear because it just looks beautiful. Well, I hope it's at least in this game too.

So far I needed to hunt Zamtrios 23 times to get just 3 goddamn freezer sacs and had to do the dual HR Rathian quest 9 times for one frickin' medulla. All that's left is farming 8 or 9 more monsters to get all of my weapons up. Ugh..

Speaking of farming, people've been laughing at me for wearing level 11 Narga armor and go "Narga armor? Are you retarded? We're fighting S. Rath! Hurrdurr" while I'm the one who hasn't carted a single time yet, is using demon horns to buff my team and jukes dem wyverns like a boss. I might die in two shots, but at least I'm not dying at all. And who doesn't die in two shots against a low health S. Rath? *Shakes head*, you don't need the best armor at all moments (Regios X spam anyone?). I'm wearing Narga armor and my friend's wearing Shagaru's and we hardly ever get floored so where's the problem?

Amatsu armour is in the game as a Trade with the Wycoon and you can find bits and pieces of it in G-Rank Expeditions. Abyss Lagiacruis stuff is also in the game as well as DireMaralis.

Ragios X is probably the easiest way to get Steady Hand (Fencing & Halves Sharpness drop) so no surprise folks have it. Also Constitiution WILL save your ass if you ever need to dive to safety, seriously you can fly like superman if you jump from the right spot XD

I'm calling it quits for today after mostly capturing Gypceros the whole time.  Sadly, it still refuses to let go of its noggin. :okiedokielokie:

It looks like I won't be getting the complete Barroth armor set anytime soon... Why are you so close yet so far away, Guard+? Why? :(

If you get a bronze VE ticket you can trade that for a head depending on where you trade it. I personally prefer Gravios armour as that has GaurdUp and Guard+1, gem that to +2 and you can block more or less anything XD (stamina permitting ofc XD)

Really? That's awesome to know, thanks! I just attempted to get the Barroth armor set the moment I saw it, mostly due to nostalgia!  :D

I didn't know about the Gravios armor set and that it has GaurdUp AND Gaurd+1, though. That's a pleasant surprise. Judging by its intimidating appearance  , would I be incorrect if I assume that the armor set is obtained a bit further in the game; perhaps at the mid-game point?

When I get the chance today, I'll try getting those VE tickets, though.

Round about High Rank in online but you can fight them earlier if your through with offline quests. For example completeling all low level quests unlocks a kirin and a teostra you can fight which in turn makes them appear in expeditions.

I don't have many people I know IRL who also have the game. And those that do are far further behind in the game than I am, so we can only do low-level hunts where I end up doing most of the work simply because I have better equipment. It's not really that fun that way; they get through too easily while I just get things I don't need. That's why I'm hoping I can play with you guys once I finally get around to doing online. :squee:  But I'm just at 3-star quests online, since I'm still focusing on the offline stuff at the moment though. There's so much to do! I have finished every single low rank offline quest though, and I'm partway through 9-star offline quests.

Hey, I can give you a hand if you need it later on. I've only just managed to reach HR5, so I'm not too far beyond your point.

I'm thinking about trying out the Insect Glaive. Is it a good weapon by any chance?

It's complex but once you figure it out it is really good. Kind of like every weapon in this game though...

I have like 4 friends and my wife that all play this...(she's note wife yet but the wedding is in like a month and a half so eh)

Omg congratulations! And you're so lucky to have a wife to play this with.

I had a few people who use to play, one of them moved out of town, the other one moved pretty far also and I don't really talk to him anymore, one is waiting to get a new 3ds first(Don't know how long that will take), and the other wants to get a ps4 and ps4 games instead :(

I see. I'm thinking of trying out one because having an insect companion with you along with your Palicos would be awesome. Still, I prefer the Long Sword as my best weapon.

That's because the Long Sword is a really good weapon and easy to use. I like it when I slice and dice monsters that pose a threat to us. However, Long Swords users cannot block attacks which can be a let down for some players.

Another day, another awesome afternoon of hunting! I'm postponing my quest for the Barroth armor set, for the sake of my sanity.

I love blocking! XD It just makes you feel badass when you stand firm from a hit that would send anyone else flying. This is pretty much related to my love for tanking in RPGs.

I love that guard points exist on the charge blade, but I can't master the timing at all!  >_>

I respect that. One of the reasons I love Monster Hunter is how every hunter has their own style and tactical preferences. I'd like to hunt with ya and see your best switchaxe in action, but I assume you're far into G rank. I'm not even done with a third of offline low rank!

I'm only hr3 and get killed if I don't have anyone with me...

My strategy generally is drink dash juice, run up,

Update: just hunted my first Basarios. That thing is a winged fortress! I should probably use only impact weapons when hunting it. I wonder how its armor set is.

Ha! That's the first time I saw that gif, and I love it already! A switchaxe, mega dash juice and a toppled monster is a perfect combination in my eyes.

You're not on G rank, yet? My mistake; you sounded like a G Ranker. I might have got your MH3U and MH4U progress mixed up. I still have catching up to do with nearly everyone in this thread, though.

Hunting together with the people here seems miles more appealing than trying my luck with randoms.

I'm hr3 in mh3u also... and I don't even have a full set of armor in that game... I know a lot about games whether I'm good at them or not is debatable. Like the only games I can say for sure that I'm great at is Mario Kart 8 and Kirby and the Amazing Mirror (only game I have 100% completed)....

Oh, thanks for telling me. I need to work on my insight; that's two slip ups that I've made within a few minutes!

Mario Kart 8 is a tough game to be above average at, in my opinion. The blue shell still haunts me, today! Who's idea was it to give that thing wings, AND cause an explosion? Anyway, you clearly have skills since you're great at that game.

Not to turn this into the Mario Kart 8 thread http://mlpforums.com/topic/100133-mario-kart-8 (that thing died so long ago...), but I love destroying and dodging blue shells or recovering and not even giving a crap that you were hit.

I want blue shell armor and weapons for mh4u and anything you hit instantly dies, but it has like red sharpness and like so many negatives that using it is a giant gamble.

While Palicoes are cute and helpful, I'd love for an option to choose canine allies in future Monster Hunter games. Maybe at least one of Capcom's employees are a Brony, and might see this post!

C'mon! Just imagine the many possible heart-wrenchlngly adorable quotes with doggie puns!  XD

"Whaddya mean I'm all bark and no bite?"

"Master, save me! I've woofed down more than I can chew!"

"I'd love to help you slay that monster, but I'm occupied with chasing this herd of Kelbi at the moment!"

(no puns here, but it could be a retreat quote.)

"There's this thing stuck on my rear that won't go away! It moves too quickly every time I try to remove it! I'm gonna get rid of it eventually; you'll see!"

(Mandatory chasing tail quote. This ISN'T optional! XD)

On this note, a weapon having the ability to block is actually a turn-off to me. Sure, all weapons can evade so having blocking on top of that can only increase your ability to survive. But blocking just goes right against my playstyle. I love evasion-focused playstyles, and if I can't block, it forces me to be focused on my evasion. Dodging right through those fireballs and tail swipes to keep slashing away makes me feel like one awesome, agile hunter! You will almost never see me without at least Evade+2, unless sacrificing that and getting Evade+1 instead helps me get another very useful skill. The only time I've made that sacrifice so far was to get Focus on my Bow set.

Any yes, Pokémon hunting companions needs to be a thing!

I understand what you mean. I just prefer blocking with my lance, SNS, or charge blade, because it simply fits me and my personality.

Agile, evasion-focused playstyles, eh? I see somepony eventually making use of Evasion +3 in the future! XD

Do you main anything else, other than the bow? The dual blades,(that demon mode dashing ledge attack, though!), seem more than an ideal fit for you.

While I'm more than okay with Pokemon hunting companions, I'd still prefer canines to be an option.

Oh, for Blademaster weapons I already have Evasion+3 thanks to my Nargacuga set and 8 evasion jewels. :squee:  But there isn't a whole lot you can evade with Evade+3 than you can't with Evade+2, so I'm much more willing to downgrade from +3 to +2 for the sake of getting other skills if needed.

My main weapon and the one I believe I am best at is the Long Sword. It was the first weapon I've used from back in MH3, and I've used it for far longer than any other weapon I've used so far. My second weapon was the Bow, which I picked up in MH3U. And just a few weeks ago, in MH4U, I've picked up the Dual Blades. So, at the moment I use the Long Sword, Bow, and Dual Blades! In the future, I'm also potentially interested in learning the Insect Glaive, Switch Axe and Hunting Horn, but I don't want to learn too many new weapons at once! I still need to get better at Dual Blades!

One thing I love about Monster Hunter is how it allows for so many different playstyles. I love evading, you love blocking, and we both have the weapons and skills to match our different playstyles! And even better, Monster Hunter does a great job of balancing these different playstyles, so neither of us are inherently disadvantaged by the way we want to play!
