FiM villains mini-series

Apparently IDW MLP Editor, Bobby Curnow dropped that something would come this April on the IDW MLP forums in December.

He didn't say what that something is, so we I guess we have to wait and see.

 

Just asking, what do you guys think of a Third On Going MLP comic possibly happening in the future?

Well.....overall the MLP comics is currently sitting in the 80th position in terms of Comic book sales of 2014, doing better than most Marvel and DC comics. 80th may seem bad but if you look at the list of superheroes and popular franchises it's going up against it's a pretty decent number, not to mention the sales.

I'd much rather they use their current resources to fix the problems in the main series before branching to a new series, having two series is fine enough for me.....unless the third series involves giving Rainbow Dash a Micro that isn't arse

I'll support it if it's of good quality. I love what we have in both the main series and Friends Forever, so I have faith that maybe a third series could very well be good.

That's interesting, I've always liked the comics for their delving into the deeper details of some of the less explored areas of the show, particularly in regards to the villains. What, Sombra got like 3 or 4 lines in the show tops and yet had an entire issue devoted to him in the comics? Yes, it was a mirror universe version but it still made him way more interesting than "I'm here and evil because we need one." I'd love to see me some more Tirek though.

Well, I'm sold. While the comics have delved into the villains before like with Return of Chrysalis and a brief bit about King Sombra in the Twilight/Shining Armor FF, there's still more than enough places to fill in with story. Maybe we'll learn about any number of these villain's fall to darkness; were they just born evil or did something push them over the edge? Also, if Tirek get's an issue then I would pay money to have Scorpan make an appearance.

What do you mean? In my opinion, the Reflections ark is the best thing to come out of G4, far better than the show!

I am SO excited for the "FIENDship is Magic" comic series! I want them all, seriously. I think I'm looking forward to Tirek's story the most, he's an epic villain. I hope they include Scorpan in that one too...how could they not!? 'm also really curious about Nightmare Moon...so she was conscious all that time? I guess that makes sense if we accept the comics as canon, we already saw some of the moon inhabitants in the Nightmare Rarity arc (still need to get my hands on the last issue of that) I wanna know more about Chrysalis and the Changelings too! Even Sombra and the Sirens. I find all of it interesting. I am, however, bummed that we're not getting an issue on Discord's past...unless maybe that means they have something planned in the show concerning his story? I hope. I for one love the comics (most of them) they keep me satisfied during the "pony drought" and this particular series has the potential to be amazing...I hope they do it right!

Is anyone else hyped for the My Little Pony Villain comics as ME! Ohhh! I can't wait for SombraRex and the Dazzlings ark. The cover art work is outstanding and I hope it holds up to it. We know so little about the sirens and Sombra ,be great to learn little bit more about them. Oh yeah, and Sombra's canon last name is Rex! Rex! Literal translation: Shadow King! Awesome!!! There's even an NightmareMoon comic. We already learned quite on her backstory, now it seems we're diving a little bit more deeper. Who knows we may learn the origins of Nightmare, herself, before she corrupted Luna. That'll be so cool! That's like learning the origins of Venom before he took over Spiderman. And who can forget my queen, Chrysalis! I just want more of her.

Well it's either they want to keep discord obscure or they really are saving something up for the series TV series. Either way I'm game for both! And we've already heard so much about nightmare moon's past, and it looks like we're delving a little deeper. who knows, we may have a origin story for her symbioses form. And I most afraid for Tirek's ark for the fact that he may turn out to be too generic. hopefully there's some Gen1 references in there!

I'm really excited about the comic series, especially because I also enjoyed the reflection arc in the series. I think overall, the comics are good and I enjoy the fact that they are clearly aimed at an older age group. I think this will be an interesting series, but am upset they left out Discord -- I'd love to see some information on where he came from, as well as what happened before Celestia and Luna had to battle him the first time. Not excited about the Sierins arc, but the rest look beyond excellent.
