I've always thought that Twilight Sparkle was like the old stereotype of the librarian...  She's really cute, and has the flirtiest walk.  If you can get her nose out of  book, she could become a tigress...

I found the original vector on Google images, it's by foxtrax on Deviant Art.  I did some tweaking on the mane and tail and the eyes.  Need to get me some software so I can draw ponies from scratch.  Anybody have a favorite program for that?  Is it Adobe Flash?  Or is that just for animation?  Tried it in Photoshop with lamentable results...

Photoshop CS is nice, but there are also programs such as SAI, which I know a lot of artists use, and Krita is a free program similar to SAI that looks promising but I don't think that many people use it yet. You could draw in flash but yes I am pretty sure it is mostly for animations and if drawing is what you want to focus on then I would try something else. SAI and Krita are more painterly programs while photoshop is more technical, but it has a lot of manipulation options. There is also Gimp which is free and can do some manipulation like Photoshop can. There is also Paint.net.

I mostly have experience with Photoshop which is what I use to draw with, and I have tried a litle bit of SAI and a bit of Krita.

Here are some links to the free programs:

Gimp: http://www.gimp.org/

Paint.net: http://www.getpaint.net/

Krita: https://krita.org/

As for your image, did you ask foxtrax for permission to use it? Chances are he/she doesn't mind but it is still polite to ask, and if he/she doesn't want other people to use his/her art in this way then you shouldn't.

Good luck in your search for a program =p

I do most of my drawing on GIMP, simply because it is a nice, free program to use that's very easy to understand and work with. But also, great pic!  :wub:

Thanks!  I didn't know you could do vector stuff in CS.  I have that.  Guess I better get bizzy and dig up some tutorials...

@Foliha

Fan Art is for original art work. The vector edit, while well done, is not original. Also, seeing as the discussion is heavily centered on tools related to the craft of editing I will move this to Creative Resources.
