So we've all seen fluttershy as a bat pony, but are there fans of this one? I personally was laughing at this form of Fluttershy, i can't help but do so. Its ironic how she didn't want to hurt the bats, but ended up one of them.

Nah, the ironic thing is that she didn't want to get rid of them because she says they're not mindless, feral beasts, but then after she's turned into one she becomes a mindless, feral beast, and then afterward everyone's like "Fluttershy, you were right all along!"

I don't know about you, but I think Flutterbat is adorable!

But, that's an improper use of the word "irony". What would have been ironic was if Applejack was turned into a bat, as she despised and wanted to get rid of them.

Horrified, is the operative word.

This episode retains the dubious "honor" of being the only episode I disliked.

Fluttershy is gradually loosing not only her form, but her mind! She retains no memories of who she is or even of sapient thought, her mind consumed only by base hunger. What's more is that the transformation was progressive! Remember her ears lengthening at one point? She was only getting worse!

Add to all that Fluttershy was basically bullied into the circumstance in the first place, made the victim for another's sin. It was like something out of a Franz Kafka novel!

. . . So yeah, not a fan.

Yeah, what should have happened!

It should have. Then Applejack could've had a better understanding of the bats by being placed in their shoes!

"Applejack, you're back to normal!"

"That was horrible! They really are nothing but ravenous beasts, I know that now more than ever! Forget driving them out, we need to exterminate them!!"

I don't know, I've never really been a fan of Flutterbat.  It just seems so out of character for Fluttershy to be so aggressive.  Well, technically she was out of character, but like it was still her character, as a different character, I think?

I didn't do that, i just found the image i needed.

Wow, I really did not read this thread at all. Silly me, I'm so spaced out today (I just saw a pretty picture of Flutterbat and assumed it's art).

Anyway, now that I've actually read the thread, I like the concept of Flutterbat. It wasn't too mindbogglingly original, but it was pretty enjoyable.

I guess Applejack becoming one would be funny to see, but instead of saying get rid of them, she does what they did in the show.

So she... offers to make a sanctuary first. Then she's transformed, and then she drives them all away?

I thought 'Bats!' and the Flutterbat concept was very interesting, and something that came out of left field. The show hadn't done anything like that episode or that transformation prior, so it was a cool milestone to see. The coolest thing to come out of it for me was the inspiration to invent the Incubus/Succubus pony lore, that I've now developed in much detail. My ponysona regularly transforms into an Incubus Pone now, and it's all thanks to Flutterbat.  :yay:

I loved her! I thought the idea was so original (Bats! is one of my favorite episodes ever).

It's her best "transformation" so far.

I thought it was funny when she grew fangs, she thought that Applejack's apples were juicy and it made her mouthwater and ate a lot of them. Then again, anypony thinks Applejack's apples are juicy and mouthwatering. So yeah, interesting transformation.

All my life needed was a sense of someplace to go. I don't believe that one should devote his life to morbid self-attention. I believe that someone should become a person like other people.

Didn't see it coming, that's for darn sure. The episode would have been better if they went in a different direction and actually focused on the conflict between Applejack and Fluttershy, but if they were going for weird and unexpected, they succeeded.

Not quite sure I fully get people who were angry that this happened to Fluttershy, but I don't get most outrages over negative things happening to Fluttershy. Where was the anger when Abe Simpson turned into a vampire, huh?!
