Morning everyone!! I couldn't wait to share this with all of you.

I came up with a Darizotl fan kid!! OMG, she turned out amazing... <3

 

Feedback and comments loved and appreciated!!

 

 

I'm calling her "Izel". It's Nahautl (Aztec) for "unique". Oh, gosh, I just love designing hybrids so much.

It's just so much fun to think up the perfect mix. She's probably one of my favorite character creations to date.

Thank you very much!! And that's a good question. I'm still thinking about it.

I think she'll probably end up more "good" like her mother (though by the time she's this age, Ahuizotl's mellowed out a bit, but I won't say why right now), but she's more willing to do morally questionable things in pursuit of "good".

Though seriously, the idea that those two do the flirty hero/villain banter makes me squee like a dork.

Oh it's nothing really complicated. I love Daring Do and Ahuizotl as a couple, and I love drawing hybrids.

So when I started drawing kids for the MLP characters, I just doodled this up.

 

Seriously, hybrids are the best. This is one I drew back in 2009.

That's still in process.

Sometimes I come up with a character's personality first then their looks, sometimes it's the other why around.

Izel's look was pinned down first, her personality and backstory with be pieced together gradually.

You know you're the second person to say that, but I actually think they're pretty evenly represented.

At at least that was the attempt. But Ahuizotl's physical features are so bizarre and eye catching that they sort of drown out the "pony bits". Fun fact, those are feathers between her shoulders. 83

well of course you were   I see what you mean there is no denying that she is part pony the front and back legs the face and even parts of the tail are more equine than whatever Ahuizotl is and I saw the feathers and I was like "I see what you did there you clever girl"   you did a great job as usual

Ahuizotl is actually exactly what his name says.

The ahuizotl is a mythological Aztec creature. It was said to imitate the crying of small human children in order to lure in adults.

It would then drag them under water with it's hand like tail to drown them before eating their nails and eyes.

 

I'm not making this up. XD
