gaming Remasters, remakes, or reboots?

So during the begining of this generation we have been seeing remakes and remasters like the last of us and kingdom hearts 1.5 , 2.5 , and some others but would u rather see a reeboot of your favorite series ? like for example crash,spyro,final fantasy games and etc. or just brand new games all togather ? for me i rather want a new classic crash game back (:

Aye lad, I be waiting for a remake of The Suffering with a different physics engine and better graphics so i can enjoy killin Slayers and Marksman with better quality. Ohh, it'll be fantastic lad! I'm all excited about it and it hasn't happened yet. They should also put multiplayer in it so I can kill lads with me favorite monster. I should go change me pants now lad, I got too excited.

I love to see either a reboot or a remake of the Dark Cloud games.Loved them as a kid,but playing them nowadays... ehhh,they could've aged a lot better.

I would love to see Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, Spyro the Dragon and Banjo-Kazooie be resurrected or rebooted, but it doesn't look like it's going to happen anytime soon sadly :/

I don't much care for remasters, unless they're bundled together. The KH remasters have been the best example I have ever known, bringing together almost all KH releases together on one system, and for cheap. In addition to being remastered they remade the OSTs for both KHI and II with live instruments.

 

That's how you do a remaster. Sadly, this is not how remasters are typically done. Just look at Wind Waker HD. It's adapted well to HD, but it's full-price for one game with very minimal changes.

 

If a game is fully remade like Pokemon FR/LG, HG/SS, and OR/AS than I really like it. I consider those fully worth my money. If all games were remade like that, it would be great. Sadly, even among games that are actually remade you have titles like OoT3D and MM3D which are remade so close to the originals that you can't even tell they're actually remade if you don't look at side-by-side images. OOT3D and MM3D might as well have just been remastered ports with new textures and updated models here and there, because that's exactly what they look like. And they didn't even remake the soundtracks for either (which is absolutely inexcusable for fifteen year old - at the time of release - games). Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. Nintendo sure knows how to play its customers.

I'm so behind the times. I played KH 1, some of KH2, and that's it. I feel like I'm missing out :|

Remakes are fine as long as they're more like REmake, the Pokemon remakes or the the Megaman PSP remakes, and less like OoT3D, MM3D or ST643D

HD Remasters are fine as long as they're more like Kingdom Hearts 1.5/2.5 or MGSHD Collection, and less like The Last of Us Remastered or WWHD(basically one game at full retail price)

Reboots are fine as long as they're more like Starfox 64 and less like DmC

I would like to see Sonic Adventure Remade in the Hedgehog Engine.

(It still bugs me all the "remakes" of it are just ports of the Dreamcast version =_=)

About the only game I really want to see a remaster of is Star Wars: Tie Fighter as that game could really use a graphical overhaul, IMO.

 

However, I'm not really willing to see the original Spyro series get the remaster treatment, though it's be cool if the three Legend of Spyro games were.

I would love to see a proper remake of Master of Magic and Ultima 5.  Those games really deserve it and are old enough to warrant it.

There are a lot of old games that could use some form of remaster at the very least and put into a collection for new generations to play but new games is always the better way to go. A reboot is technically still a new game so I'll just count that as the same thing.

 

All these reboots and cross-generation games are not making people want the new consoles. They'd do so much better if they just made new games for the consoles instead of trying to hold onto the old ones.

The increase in power (not just graphically) can really change the way games are made. When they aren't restricted by what the old consoles can handle power-wise they can do who knows what with it. They hit the technological ceiling pretty early in the last gen but now the bar has been raised with these new consoles.

that's that amazing game that was like on xbox classic right? In the prison. I remember that.

 

I'd like to see remaster of blood and blood 2. Also gungrave. And devil may cry 4 for next gen because it's amazing. And modern warfare 2 cause best call of doody. Also resident evil 2-5. Mainly 4, resi 4 is bæ.

DmC was really good. It doesn't bring down the DMC series at all. It just wasn't the best one.

Honestly it feels like we're getting too many remasters nowadays, I'd rather we finally start getting more original content.....

 

.....THAT SAID, I wouldn't mind seeing an HD remaster of Xenoblade Chronicles or Resident Evil 2/3, and a full blown remake of Metal Gear 1 and 2

I'd love to see Jedi Knight: Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy with improved graphics and unchanged gameplay personally. 

 

I also would love adding some kind of "realistic" difficulty level, where even touching lightsaber can leave You with severed limbs for greater difficulty in lightsaber combat.

Remasters are nice but I just wish old games from the past would become more readily available whether through legal emulation like on PSN & Steam or through remakes and remasters.

 

So many games that are impossible to find for cheap these days.
