gaming Call of Duty: Black Ops III

I have my Xbox 360 and I am not planning to spend lots of money to buy a Xbox One just to play one game

Same. In a scenario where I already had a next-gen console, or a gaming PC for that matter, there's a much better chance I'd get the new CoDs. Getting the dumbed down versions for the old consoles is like looking at a nice juicy Big Mac at McDonalds and then ordering off the dollar menu.

I don't get excited for Call of Duty games anymore :/ I used to be really passionate about the series but now I'm just bored of it. Who knows, maybe this new one might interest me again.

I heard  Activision was really passionate about getting CoD on Nintendo systems but apparently Black Ops 2 only did decent numbers and Ghosts very poorly.  I think they really want to support Nintendo but Wii U is a very unreliable system for third party sales.  I really respect that they tried twice (EA gave up on Madden after one game, and Ubisoft has given up) but Wii U never got Advanced Warfare and I'm skeptical Black Ops 3 will be on it (The one glimmer of hope is that Black Ops 2 did have a very steady Wii U user base so the Black Ops name may warrant trying a port)

I'm not sure how to feel about this. On one hand, I want to be excited since the only Cod games I've ever really enjoyed are the Black Ops ones. On the other hand, I'm afraid it'll try and be all futuristic and edgy. This is Treyarch we're talking about though, so they should know what they're doing. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Actually really excited for this. Black Ops has been my favorite Cod series, especially in terms of single player. Hopefully they still have the branched storyline.

I love AW and am really looking forward to this Black Ops III :)

Meh, I don't know how far they wil go. How many ? 12 ? I don't count anymore. >_>

I used to play them. I enjoyed it, really. But then I discovered Battlefield. Then MOBAs. Then RPGs. Then RTS. And so much more.

Whenever I look back to CoD, I get disgusted. For so long, I have played this game while so many other games were available. Everytime, I bought the new ones because I was hoping for something new. -_-

Neh, everyone can make mistakes. I stopped at Mw3 and even bought BOII. Some stopped after Mw2.

Usually, it takes 3 years to disgust you. I think that's the right number. I won't reject your love for the game, but I don't trust it. Because I know that sooner or later, you'll know it.

CoD is just a piece of wood colored silghtly differently each year, the developpers don't care, Activision don't care, they don't "innovate", they just pump the bigger ammount of money possible before it all falls down.

When I think about Battlefield, LoL, or whatever, I don't really appreciate these games, but I accept that people actually love to play them.

Maybe this won't please some of you, but someone needs to say it. CoD is just garbage. And trust me, I don't say that randomly, if that wasn't so painful to me to admit it, I'm what you could call a CoD vet. And I'll say it again, garbage. Sooner or later, you'll find out. -_-

That's excellent news! Thanks to Treyarch for developing another Call of Duty franchise which is Black Ops 3 this year!

As Black Ops 2, I go through the whole campaign including the strike-force missions and got the best possible ending on PC and XBOX 360, so the game is excellent than Black Ops 1 and MW3! :D

Maybe they'll do something unique and risky, in an effort to boost public standing?

....HAHAHHAHAHHHAHAHHHAHAHHAHA

Sorry man, but this series is stagnant. If you like the current gameplay (and I'm not saying it sucks) than how about they make new maps and guns as DLC instead of a whole 'nother friggin vidya gaem?

The Call of Duty Paradox: Game has relatively little changes; people complain about lack of innovation. Game has relatively large changes; people complain that the game "doesn't feel like COD anymore". Conclusion: Call of Duty games will always be unfairly criticized because people as a whole are hypocrites.

Personally, I'm looking forward to Black Ops III quite a bit; Treyarch has been my favourite COD developer since World At War. I enjoy Advanced Warfare quite a bit, but Treyarch games have been the best for me. I look forward to the continuation of the Black Ops and Zombies storyline. Question is: will they also use exo-suits or an equivalent or will gameplay be more like traditional COD? Personally, either are fine.

I was kind of wishing for WAW2; could have covered the three years Reznov and Petrenko were separated. Perhaps they could have also covered experimental Nazi technology. But I do understand the limitations of returning to the WW2 setting... also COD focuses on the USA above others usually.

But I do have the most amount of trust in you Treyarch. I look forward to the reveal. Before I play the game, I will be playing through WAW, BO, and BOII again.

Again The Call of Duty Paradox. I'm quite certain many COD players enjoy the game because of its familiarity. But in terms of the community as a whole, the truth is that COD players don't know what they actually want in terms of innovation vs familiarity which is evident from the fact that they're hypocrites. Also, by no means should the core gameplay of COD ever be changed or else it will no longer be a COD game.

My 960 hours on Black Ops II, +381 hours on Black Ops (don't know how much I played on Wii but I believe I surpassed prestige 5), and well above 59 hours on World At War (this only counts my Steam record, disk record of WAW unknown) says otherwise and I've been playing since COD1. All COD games I have played, except Ghosts, have been quite enjoyable to me and well worth the money spent. Call of Duty is by no means an objectively bad game series.

Question is how Black Ops III will work with Black Ops II having multiple endings.

I think it'll just follow the best Black Ops II ending and go on from there. Or maybe it'll follow one of the other endings, who knows?

okay, I'm a little disappointed  :( I was so hyped for a World At War 2 to come out, so I'm a little sad seeing a Black Ops 3. I'm sure it will be okay, but considering Advanced Warfare is the only recent CoD game that I liked, I'm a little skeptical about this game. Especially after the leaked information on the official website (source EGMnow.com), which seems to state that soldiers are closer to robots in this game than humans. Personally, I think exo suits were far enough  :)

World at war and Black ops were good, Black ops 2 was pretty shit. Modern warfare was much better in my opinion. I only liked BO for the zombies. The multiplayer was meh and the campaign was trippy as fuck.

The only thing that would convince me to get BO3 would be a collection of all the zombie maps, ever.

It was shit to me. The campaign made no sense, the transit was shit, the multiplayer was full of either noobs or try hards.

Modern warfare 2 back in 2010-2011 was the shit. Only problem i have with it is no friends to play with.

Campaign in Black Ops II made tons of sense to me. And while the Tranzit map wasn't really that good, the DLC zombie maps more then make up for it.

I didn't get the DLC for it because I felt I had already wasted £40 on it in the first place.

Ghosts was pretty shit too. It went down hill after Black ops, MW3 was alright, but was kinda shit. Advanced warfare is probably the best one since MW3, and that's from playing it for about 6 hours round a friends house. It plays really good

This game....I am split with it. The past two COD's, for me, have been veeeery disappointing. AW really tried in some ways, but the lack of content and the disappointing story bothers me a lot. So I have worry for any future entries in this series.

However, Black Ops 2 is by far my most played title in the series. I actually hit prestige master and enjoyed most of it and the game felt like it had addictive gameplay and the content to go with it. Plus, Treyarch has had a pretty good track record.

So I am cautiously optimistic with this one. I really hope it is good because AW, while I can still enjoy it from time to time, it disappoints me every time I play it, I feel like so much more could be there. I hope Treyarch can make up for this.

It's hard to be excited with Activision being in charge though.

well I see our viewpoints differ quite a bit on Advanced Warfare and Black Ops 2  ^_^

But I do agree, cautious optimism is what I feel with this game right now  :)

I do think that Advanced Warfare is a good game for what it is, it is definitely one of the better COD titles, it's just the sheer lack of content that really bugs me. Which this is what I hope Black Ops 3 brings to the table, a bunch of content, but I fear Activision will not allow it because...well, gotta sell the new games every year I suppose.
