movies/tv Most generically bad cartoon?

Adventure Time sort of set up modern animation for a trend of random humor. The only major show not to follow this somewhat is MLP. Gravity Falls has random humor, but it isn't JUST random humor. There's other things as well (not-random humor, good storytelling, interesting arc, not-random humor, etc.) Steven Universe has heartfelt storytelling on its side. Star? Nothing else I saw.

It still eludes me how that response means Star is generic. I'm not seeing the definitive link between Adventure Time's occasional non-sequitur storytelling and that of Star. Besides, cartoons like Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, and Sponge Bob were grooving on bizarre humor well before Adventure Time, Regular Show, Uncle Grandpa, and Star. I feel as though all of those shows, although appealing to various tastes, offer their own unique brand.

I just realized that this was really stupid.

Probably should have realized that an hour or so ago.

G 3.5 MLP. It's the stereotype of a stereotype of what people think a little girl's show is supposed to be brought to horrifying, low budget life:

I still have nightmares...

I for one happen to like Johnny Test. It's sort of generic I suppose, but not "one of the most" generic, imo. There's much worse.

Now I don't know about "worst", but Fanboy and Chum Chum was a dreadfully generic show. I couldn't stand it. I only saw 1 episode, and bits from a few others, but I hated pretty much everything I saw, haha. There are worse shows out there, but Fanboy and Chum Chum had nothing that set it apart from any other generic cartoon.

G 3.5 MLP.

OH DEAR LORD...  :o

That is terrible!

Generation 1 was better than that!  Though, I'm neither for or against G1.

---

In my opinion, a cartoon being generic does not automatically make it bad.  Again, that's a personal preference thing.  I sometimes watch shitty shows for the humor of it.  Yeah, it's therefore bad, but... if I can enjoy it, it's good for me.

That being said, sometimes being generic can make a show boring, which is bad.

---

I really don't know what to pick.  I don't normally use a cartoon being "generic" to call it bad.

For instance... CatDog.

I like CatDog.  But it's seemingly very generic.  And I wouldn't blame anyone to say that it is utter shit!  I know that it's not high quality.  But I just like it!  Hahaha...  ^_^

Stoked: It was just boring and uninteresting. If you want to watch an interesting cartoon that involves some surfing, then look no further than Rocket Power.

Jay Jay The Jet Plane: The animation of it looks horrible. Though children would like the educational aspect of it. Be seriously, I mean, look at this: :o

attachicon.giftumblr_inline_mqs0caWQ1C1qz4rgp.png

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: To me, this is the worst Mickey Mouse cartoon in my opinion. In my opinion, Mickey Mouse and his gang mixed with CGI and a show aimed at preschoolers doesn't feel right to me.

Caillou: What can I say, the characters in it are too unlikeable to be considered a good cartoon. Especially the main character, who whines too much. Though the animation of it isn't bad.

I remember Stoked. It was basically 6Teen but with surfers.

I remeber Jay Jay the Jet Plane, but nothing about it.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse turns Mickey Mouse into freaking Dora The Explorer.

Caillou is one of the most unlikable characters. All he does is whine whenever anything doesn't go his way.

For me, Johnny Test was funny in the beginning.  It evolved into just "blah" comedy.  In all honesty, I can't stand Clarence or Uncle Grandpa.  I couldn't even stand to watch 1 episode.

What disturbs me are great cartoons being cut short.  I turn a stern eye towards Cartoon Network for their cancelations of Samurai Jack, Symbionic Titan, and Young Justice.  The last episode of Young Justice screamed for more with the introduction of Dark Seid.  *sigh*

Johnny Test is the worst show I have ever had the displeasure of sitting down and watching. It is so bad, it makes me depressed. It is bad in every since of the word. You can tell the writers for that show think there audience is nothing but a bunch of drooling retards and treats them as such, witch is just plain disgraceful. No care, no compassion, no inspiration, no originality, just whip sounds.

There is only one cartoon that is worse than Johnny Test and that is Fanboy and Chum Chum. I watched one episode and I felt mindraped by how bad it was, but thankfully the show was promptly canceled.

I'm gonna get a lot of hate for this. But,My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic is pretty bad in the generic category.

The Total Drama series. The animation's poor, and the whole premise is basically a generic reality show mixed with Johnny Test. Oh, and 99% of the humor I see in that show is "DUDE HE GOT HIT IN THE BALLS XD"

Oh, and Johnny Test for obvious reasons.

The really pathetic thing is I have a much easier time naming the obscenely bad shows  than the eh ones. I suppose Johnny Test is kind of eh as is Family Guy and some newer Simpsons episodes. Modern Spongebob episodes are really scraping the bottom of the barrel but once a while they might eke out a an eh episode.

Johnny Test, as much as I hate it, is not the worst cartoon I've ever had the displeasure to see. This is piece of trash:

Only problem they solved was themselves. Thank goodness it's canceled.

I seriously can't be the only one to notice that the one in the middle looks like a walking talking, pile of shit which would be a rather appropriate mascot for that so called show.

It's just so generic, right?

For some reason, links don't count as characters. Point is, this show is not generic.

It feels generic to me. Just the way everything is.

I'm going with one I think most should agree on: Uncle Grandpa. I watched one ad and I knew how terrible it was without even really watching it. What kind of jacked up concept would create a cartoon so ridiculously stupid that even the new Spongebob episodes aren't even a comparison in any way at all? That is an achievement in being horrible.

Oh, and also My Gym Partner's a Monkey was one of the most uninspired cartoons I have ever seen. Butt jokes? SENDING A KID TO A DIFFERENT SCHOOL BECAUSE OF HIS LAST NAME? WHAT IS THIS?!?!?!

I think Fanboy and Chum Chum is pretty bad, even worse than Teen Titans Go.

I also never liked Spongebob. My parents hate the show with a passion, so I never really watched it growing up. I don't understand how so many people love the show, I can't find one good episode of it and all I hear from Spongebob fans is how bad the show is now.

Holy crap, that show's animation creeped me out as a kid. Edited by PonyLaces

*Has war flashbacks* Oh god....not that show....Anything but that show...

EDIT:  I nearly forgot to pick a show. I know this show isn't too bad, but I never liked 'I Got a Rocket!'

Generically bad? Like meh? Well, Johnny Test is bad in a lazy way but I feel one generically bad cartoon is My Gym Partner's a Monkey. This is one of the shows that started the trend of pandering to kids through typical butt jokes. 90% of the jokes in this show were about the monkey's butt. Also, the characters are annoying and the plots are a stew of why even bother?

Ugh i hated my Gym Partner's a Monkey that show was gross i can't stand shows that use gross out humor like that. Modern family guy is the same way and johnny test is just a rip off of johnny quest.

Generically bad? Johnny Test. There's just nothing interesting about it. It's so bland!

But Teen Titans Go! holds a special place of hatred for me because I loved the original teen titans series, than here this show comes. The writers have admitted they haven't ever watched the original, and yet something about a few of the episodes seems like they're specifically trying to anger people who liked the original.

I think those are made as parodies instead of angering the old fans, or at least that's how I see them, as I watched most of the original  :P .

Just watching the opening with that dude repeating "good morning" with that stupid voice was enough reazon to turn me away

Oh yeah, that show was horrible

In fact, I think the mid 00s was plagued with awful cartoons, today, yes, there are still awful cartoons, but thank God many good ones came around  :yay:  (Despite that I no longer watch much TV  )

Almost Naked Animals has probably scarred childhoods across the nation. Who was the nutjob who thought shaved, half-nude stuffed animals are a good idea for a children's show?  :eww:
