colt .45 259 April 28, 2015 Share April 28, 2015 I think not just magic, but spacificaly Rainbow Dash's pegasus magic. I noticed in "Tanks for the memories," that she used her hoof to spim the propeller, and then it kept spinning and you could see the magic glow. I feel like Dash controls the speed to match her own speed and, like others have said, he controls direction by shifting his weight. I imagine it's not to be taken lightly for a pegasus to share their flight magic. That's why Dash and Tank have such a tight bond. So, by my theroy, Tank can't even fly unless Dash starts his device and is within a certian proximity. I don't necessarily think that the aura of the device has to magic the aura of either Twilight or Rarity. In any case I would think Twilight would be responsible for that.
