Black Comedy is a type of comedy which involves topics that are usually treated seriously like death, violence, or disasters and are treated in humorous ways. Family Guy does it a lot with jokes such as death jokes and 9/11 jokes It's controversial but I actually find black comedy funny as long as you don't take it seriously. I don't know I'm just amused by black comedy sometimes even though I still find it offensive.

I have a morbid sense of humor so I can find them funny, but just like any humor it depends on the execution.

 

As for 9/11, I only really enjoy humor based on 9/11 when it's done to mock the conspiracy theories

When I was little, I had a book with lots of black comedy jokes. So, I literally grew up to enjoy it.

Now that I think of that, why on earth I owned a black comedy book as a child?

I think it's downright disgusting, extremely 2edgy4u, and overall unfunny.

 

The only time I don't mind it is when a victim of something (rape, someone they care about gets murdered, abuse of some form, etc..) makes jokes about what happened as a coping mechanism.

I find it to be alright, if it is not used to insult others. It is funny if it is supposed to lighten the mood . 

 

This is of course all highly subjective since people will have different opinions .

Dark comedy might be a better wording.

Black comedy like other forms of comedy has its place. I have said this many times and I will say it again humor while it often expresses joy is also a crucial tool in dealing with an making sense out of some truly messed up stuff. Having a sense of humor about things even though some of things may be unpleasant helps many people cope with said unpleasant subjects. It dosen't mean that people that tell these jokes or use humor to cope with them are making a mockery of them it is just that sometimes all you can do is laugh and try to deal.

It has its place. I tell jokes to some of my close friends that I would never be comfortable saying to anyone else. People just need to know when it is and isn't appropriate. When it's too soon, ect.

I love black comedy and dark humour in general.

Don't get me wrong, I get that different people are affected differently by certain topics. That's why I'll only tell really dark jokes to my closest friends, sort of like a show of trust.

If I knew that it would offend someone, I wouldn't tell it. Still, I do get annoyed when people call you out as being a horrible person for telling it. If you're offended, I'm on your side here. But if no harm was meant, I don't see the need to get offended.

 

Maybe it's a culture thing, I dunno XD

Black Comedy is a-okay with me, so long as it's not done with intended malice. Like, don't make a joke about Ebola or something right in front of someone who lost their loved one because of it. That's not cool.
