Shankveld 4,949 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 I've been wondering when do young boys start becoming attracted to women. My friend has a 10 year old brother, who I always viewed as innocent, he'd run and hug me when I'd come over to visit and such. One summer we all went to the beach together, and I was building a castle with my friend's brother. I asked him, "Tyler, are there any girls you like in your class?" And he told me no, so I further inquired as to why and he responded: "I don't like the girls in my class, I like girls with boobs, like you." This answer shocked me. In school I was taught boy don't start producing testosterone until the age of 13 (this is an average). But then I wondered well, do you need testosterone to fell attraction towards women? Or maybe it's just that he sees grown males lusting after women and he is just mimicking their behaviour. ~
Prince Lightning Da Cute 619 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 It varies from boy to boy. It can be as late as 19 to as early as 8. Environment & Personality play a huge role aswell. Testosterone doesn't make women automatically attractive. It can effect their way of thinking and other things but that is not one of its effects. 1 I'm the Son of Celestia And when i'm King who else did you think would be Queen? Doctor XFizzle 8,669 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 (edited) Personally, it was around 6th grade so that means I was *recalls* 12 at the time. I think a handful of factors could be considered like a boy's upbringing, the environment they're in (like I was in private Catholic school so everything was modest or largely platonic), and how their hormones rush through their body. Marcato 2,143 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 Thats kind of scary for a young ten year old to say something like that at suh an age! Hmm, i don't know. Its an interesting question but is difficult to answer without generating awkward vibes. Well, i never really found any remote interest until i was 13. Even then and now i wasn't that into girls. Still, it sounds a little unnatural for a 10 year old to be going through that. He could just be getting ideas from other children around him. Hopefully thats the case in my opinion. I'm still disturbed by how young he is to be saying something like that. ~Relax and enJOY life. DashingRainbow36 264 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 For me it was with men, and I hit puberty early, around age 9. I had a friend that hit it around the same time I did and he liked all sorts of girls. When puberty comes there is the basic growth like getting tallerm losing some baby fat if you have it, and possinbly getting acne, then body hair etc. Then there is the sexual part that comes in, your attractions, the weird funny feelings, the uhhh personal activities one does in the privace of ones bedroom. But it can vary with every boy. I had a friend that said he was like 14 when he hit puberty. But I will also second what Pencils said. I always played "doctor" or played "house" with boys and girls starting at like age 4. Its just a time of innocent exploration that can determin a lot of things for some people. “The essence of the independent mind lies not in what it thinks, but in how it thinks.”― Christopher Hitchens
SrFrog 927 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 Didn't really start paying attention to girls in a serious manner till I was in 7th grade. Before that however I tended to pay attention to other characteristics. "Never give no manipulative bitch the benefit of the doubt" - Compa's grandpa... Discordian 6,015 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 I think it's easy enough to find someone attractive at any age. Women do it a lot and get crushes really early while boys, depending on the situation and their home life probably, can start early but most will not care either which way. Of course, the fact that our society these days uses sex a lot, even in things it's not necessary in, I'm sure boys are exposed to it sooner than they should be. I mean, it probably wasn't uncommon 30 years ago for a kid to find his dad's porn mags under the bed but I doubt it had any lasting effect on him. Nowadays you see sex everywhere, even on TV where previously it was forbidden to be on most channels. Plus there's the internet which has an extremely high volume of sex no matter how many filters you put on a computer. I personally didn't even get to the internet until I was 17, only ever played a few games school computers would allow, but I had been attracted to women since I was like 6 or 7 years old. Now, it was an immature attraction and was mostly due to the fact that they had boobs and I realized I liked them, but it was an attraction nonetheless. Perhaps only because they had a part of their physical appearance that was different from mine being a male and not knowing anything about anatomy, plus being raised by my mom I was never taught "manly" things or that girls were icky or anything like that anyway. I don't think it's impossible to be this way no matter your situation but it's not exactly very likely. You just happened to hit the jackpot with this kid. TOMahwk 351 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 (edited) First crush I had was when I was in 4th grade (9 years old), but I never admitted it to any other soul, I didn't actually do anything about it until 7th grade (12 years old) A possibility: Your brother probably does like some girls, but he just won't admit it, that's the way I was for a looong time. Randomiser 115 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 The testosterone factor usually comes in to play at around age twelve, but I've heard of it as early as 8-9, so it isn't out of the question. The interest and attraction itself does tend to start at a much earlier age, it just isn't experienced the same way until testosterone is produced. Because you can't really do anything about it until that point. "...and this great blue world of oursseems a House of Leavesmoments before the wind." Fox 5,330 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 Aren't kindergarten relationships more of a mockery of what children see in their home life and not based on attraction etc, though. ? ~ Well yes but, I wouldn't of considered it a serious relationship, but it happened. What children witness from their parents could influence a quick desired afffection from another, if their parents don't pay attention to them. However, my mother had lots of boyfriends and left me behind to babysit myself, and younger brother.I never saw my mom too much. Consequently, I felt lonely, but I didn't seek affection from anyone. Media is a great example of introducing sexual content, which could influence young boys into early sexual interests. It really all depends how someone is actually encouraged. You probaly have seen advertisements like this before, but ones. I think that might be influencing a younger male audience might be the beer commercials on TV. With men having a fun time with a bunch of beautiful women and beer. Commercials with sexual content can change people. It's different for everyone though.

Bunni 1,075 April 12, 2012 Share April 12, 2012 (edited) Oh my, 10 sounds rather young. I first felt attracted to girls around 7th grade (believe I was 12 or 13) but still never said anything like that at first x) And later around 14'ish I started feeling attracted to guys as well (and I was damn frustrated at that time because I was clueless why I did) but everything started making sense after some time. But it is as the others have said it's differs from person to person. I'll just go ahead and assume that he might have picked that up from something he's heard or seen.
