Fighting type. I'm a martial artist in real life and an immersion/expressive player type. The Pokemon games can be played in many ways and the way I play them is like that of other RPGs. I play them to express certain aspects of myself in a more fantastical context. Having a team of mostly fighting types allows me to play the role of a Sifu, and my pokemon like my students.

Plus, I love a lot of the designs of fighting types and how you can sort of tell the kind of martial arts archetype they are designed after.

Even then, if Hitmontop, Hercross, and Conkledurr are there ideas of what constitutes "human-like" I wanna know who they hang out with!

Ice, Psychic, and Ghost.

 

Ice because I love many of the moves and I love cold things.

 

Psychic because it is very powerful and versatile.

 

Ghost because of Gengar. Gengar is one of my favorite Pokemon ever.

Bug because I like insects lol; spiders, much more so.  Fire because I've nearly always selected Fire starters.  And because fire reasons.  Ghost because they're the spirits of dead Pokemon (a.k.a. ghosts), and I happen to really like Gengar and some other Ghost Pokemon.  I give them names like Amityville.  I also like when other Pokemon's moves have no effect on my Ghost-emon.

Fire. It's almost always been the starter I use at the beginning of a pokemon game. The only exception there was Diamond and Black. I used water types on those.

I'm a fan of the steel type. It resists to many other types.

I like electric too.

I like the Electric type because of Jolteon and a few other Electric types who appeared in the franchise. Unsurprisingly, they've been key contributors on my teams.

This was tough to pick just one, for the longest time my favorite used to be electric. I used to be a big fan of Raichu. So out of loyalty I picked electric on the poll.

Water, because it is a type that carried my teams to victory in the Pokémon games I've completed so far (Gold and Fire Red) and also because my favorite Pokémons are Water type.

I've always liked water types. I always choose the water starter because I believe they have less weaknesses than fire and grass, unless I'm mistaken. And I always find it fun to use Surf on the water

Water and Dark, those have been my favorites since gen 2 

 

Second would probably be Steel type, mostly due to Steven from Ruby/Sapphire having a badass team!

I clicked normal. I never really considered it my favourite, but I realized that I have a LOT of normal types on my teams. ^^ Noctowl, Furret, Togekiss, (which isn't normal type anymore. UGH.) Stoutland, etc. I guess I really like the versatility and variety of moves they can learn.

 

But I also love Ampharos and Stunfisk, which are electric types, and Chikorita and Bulbasaur, which are grass.. hmmm...

My favorite type would have to be fire type. In most of the games my starter would always be a fire type cause of how cool they looked to me. I like the designs for all fire type Pokemon as well. I guess I also have that fiery passionate personality when playing through the story and battling someone.
