On behalf of Inside Out having opened in theaters this weekend, let's each rank all the Pixar feature films we've seen from best to worst (or weakest, depending on how you view your least favorites). I'll start:

01. Ratatouille

02. The Incredibles

03. Toy Story 2

04. Inside Out

05. Wall*E

06. A Bug's Life (I find this one kind of underrated)

07. Up

08. Toy Story

09. Toy Story 3

10. Finding Nemo

11. Monsters Inc.

12. Brave

13. Cars

14. Monsters University

15. Cars 2

Only those last four are the ones I was disappointed by (though I don't necessarily hate them).

Funny to say, I was going to make a topic like this one a few hours back. The only two I haven't seen are Brave and Cars 2, but they honestly don't interest me that much. And this is coming from somebody who really likes Pixar.

  1. Inside Out: It may be new, but it's absolutely gorgeous. I loved all of the characters, the amount of research regarding human behaviour, the visuals, the originality, the implications of growing up and the emotional moments. Although it certainly isn't flawless, I would be happy to watch it again and again. I could just gush all day about it.
  2. The Incredibles: I loved how they subverted and deconstructed superhero tropes and the conflicts with all of the characters. Not to mention the balance of everyday life and action scenes.
  3. Ratatouille: This is a nice idea for a movie. To see how they handle the idea of critics is quite interesting too. And as usual, the characters are pretty charming.
  4. Up: The premise is certainly a quirky one, but it is still charming to watch. The adventure scenes are fun, and I like how the main protagonist is a gruff elderly man. You don't see stuff like that too often.
  5. Finding Nemo: It's a touching story with likeable characters. It also is visually appealing. There isn't that much that I dislike, but the stuff that I like isn't that ground-breaking.
  6. WALL-E: Although this is a pretty cynical movie and is quite forceful with its moral, it is still a fun, if not, somber adventure. Plus, WALL-E is absolutely adorable.
  7. Toy Story 2: Admittedly, I love it out of pure nostalgia, but even without the bias it is my favourite from the Toy Story trilogy. All of the characters and adventure scenes are fun and interesting.
  8. Monsters Inc.: This is what I think is the most average of the Pixar films. I love the premise and the world-building, and Sully, Mike and Boo are great characters, but otherwise it doesn't do much for me.
  9. Toy Story 3: A pretty sad story and a wonderful way to develop each of the toys. It's a great way to end off the trilogy too... well, if it weren't for the fact that there's going to be a Toy Story 4. But for some reason, Toy Story 3 felt kind of... hollow. As if it isn't as charming or fun as the first two.
  10. Monsters University: It is quite the downgrade to Monsters Inc., but it is still decent. I wouldn't really watch it again and again, but it is nice to see more of the lore and culture within the Monster world.
  11. Toy Story: My least favourite of the Toy Story trilogy. While it's charming and is a great way for Pixar to start out and has a nice simple story, it doesn't keep me interested for too long and the characters get a lot more interesting in the sequels. Plus the non-toy characters (Sid and his dog especially) look uncanny.
  12. A Bug's Life: It's decent, but not ground-breaking. It really didn't do much for me and is actually the Pixar movie I watch the least, but the idea of performing insects is quire cute.
  13. Cars: It's... eh. I mean, I don't hate it in the least, but it sure is forgettable. The idea of a world of cars is kinds cool, and how the movie is a homage to a well-known driver is quite touching, but otherwise it's kind of dull.

This is probably the hardest rankings list I've ever thought of(Note I still haven't gotten to see Inside Out yet)...

1) Toy Story 2 - My favorite of the Toy Story, one of the few examples of a sequel that's better than the first

2) Incredibles - Favorite Non-Toy Story film and one of my favorite Super Hero movies. Also Frozone is my favorite Disney character

3) Toy Story 3 - A great ending to one of my favorite movie trilogies(I still don't know how I feel about TS4, but I doubt it'll hurt 3's ending)

4) Toy Story - First movie, only reason it's the bottom of the 3 is because I like the other two more. But it's still a great film

5) Finding Nemo - Tugs at all the right heartstrings

6) A Bug's Life - one of the most underrated movies imo, which I felt got a flack for not being as good as Toy Story, but it's still a great movie with tons of heart

7) Up - A really fun movie with plenty of heartwarming moments

8) Monster's Inc. - Tons of great characters and a really interesting world

9) Wall-E - Proved that a great movie can be made even with little dialogue

10) Brave - Second most underrated Pixar film. I can see why some might be turned off from this movie as it felt more like a traditional Disney film rather than a Pixar film(personally It didn't bug me) but I still loved it

11) Cars - Definitely one of Pixar's weaker films, but I still think it was great and still had a lot of love and effort put into it

12) Ratatoullie - A controversial spot for this one being so low, but it's really about personal preference. It's hard for me to get into movies that are about cooking....or Paris, so this one wasn't really my thing

13) Monsters University - Not as good as Monsters Inc, as it didn't have much of what made the original so great, but I still think the story between Sully and Mike still more than made up for the weaker parts

14) Cars 2 - uuuggghhhh....this movie sucks so much. Not even Pixar can give Larry The Cable Guy a movie that's not a steaming turd

so 13 for 14. If I can I'll probably find some time to watch Inside Out this week

1. Up

2. Finding Nemo

3. Toy Story 2

4. Ratatouille

5. Wall- E

6. Toy Story

7. Toy Story 3

8. A Bug's Life

9. Monsters Inc.

10. The Incredibles

11. Brave

12. Monsters University

13. Cars

This was incredibly hard to rank, except for Cars and Cars 2, because as far as I'm concerned they don't deserve to be called Pixar films.

I just went with what movies got the most emotion out of me, and Up is definitely my first choice. I still can't sit though the first 10 minutes without crying discreetly into my sleeve.

14. Brave

I never really cared for Brave too much; it has its moments, but overall; I found it to be a bit bland and not very memorable.

13. Monsters University

This one was a fun movie, and it had a decent amount of heart, but I don't like it enough to put it any higher.

12. Cars 2

I never really got the hate for this one (or the Cars series in general); I enjoyed. Sure, Pixar has made better films, but I did have a lot of fun with this one.

11. A Bug's Life

I haven't watched this one many times, and while I did enjoy it; I do find it a bit forgettable.

10. WALL-E

Really cute movie.

9. Finding Nemo

A classic film from Pixar that I greatly enjoyed.

8. Toy Story

Toy Story is one of my favorite series Pixar has made, but the first one is my least favorite. I think I was scared of it a little when I was younger, so I didn't watch it as much, but yeah; the first one is my least favorite in the trilogy.

7. Up

I don't really remember this one too well, but the beginning sequence is absolutely amazing.

6. Toy Story 3

A great movie too; the climax is fantastic as well as the ending. It even has quite a few scary or unnerving moments, which was cool.

5. Toy Story 2

My favorite of the Toy Story series. Very fun with heart too.

4. Cars

I've always liked this movie, and I watched it a bunch when I was younger. The music is memorable, it has heart, the characters are great, and I really like all the car puns/jokes in the world.

3. Ratatouille

Really surprising movie, but the ending and message are fantastic and really make the movie. Plus, it has a nice atmosphere.

2. The Incredibles

Memorable music and characters, and just a great movie in general. I like how all the superhero tropes play into the average family life.

1. Monsters, Inc.

I really like the world of Monsters, Inc., and it's definitely my favorite movie Pixar has made.

I have yet to see Inside Out, but I can't wait to watch it.
