Also, this quick little anecdote will warm your heart (or it might not): My brother and I, while in the company of our then-kid cousin, brought up Canada during the course of a conversation.  Our young cousin, being the inquisitive sort, suddenly asked, "What the f*** is Canada?"  And to this day, he does not know.  Just kidding; he knows.  We're fairly sure he knows.
