This was very sad news for me to wake up to. While I disagreed with his strategy for the Wii U and still do, I can not deny that he has done a lot for Nintendo and helped make them successful.

Found out about this a while go, heartbreaking day for the industry, Nintendo fans and gamers everywhere. RIP Iwata, you will be missed. Thoughts and prayers to his family

It is very sad to hear that Satoru Iwata has passed away. He brought in the hype, announced new games, made a few spoilers, he was amazing.   However, I think what would make you all feel better is that it's eventually going to happen to Masahiro Sakurai and Shigeru Miyamoto.

No, I'm not saying that I want it, I'm saying that when it happens to Miyamoto and Sakurai, at least they're not alone.

The biggest thing is where does Nintendo go from here.

 

I think Nintendo needs a president now who will bring new ideas in. While Iwata was a huge success with the Wii, the DS and the 3DS, his decisions with the Wii U have not been so wise. Many people want Miyamoto to take over, but really I think they should appoint someone new altogether. Someone who will create a new vision for Nintendo.

He fought really well with that tumor in him, he seemed just fine months ago. May the blessings from the lord come down upon his death and those he hold dear. I wished best of everything for the legacy he has built for Nintendo.
