Who is the best role model among the mane 6?

They all have their admirable traits when it comes to being a role model.

 

Twilight: logic and reasoning skills, academic discipline as well as normal discipline

Applejack: honesty, hard work

Rainbow: passion, determination

Rarity: generosity, personal hygiene, helps her friends succeed

Pinkie Pie: compassion, empathy, cheering others up

Fluttershy: kindness, dependability

 

Instead of having a perfect character that embodies all of these traits, they each have their own positive traits and weaknesses. This makes them more real IMO. They don't always instantly know what the right thing to do is in every situation. Sometimes they have to overcome their weaknesses before they can do the right thing.

 

I think one of the best examples of overcoming weakness is Fluttershy. She has the most weaknesses out of the mane 6 yet she always overcomes them just to help her friends(i.e. "Hurricane Fluttershy" and "Dragonshy").

I gotta go with my other girl Applejack. She's just the type of pony everyone should look up (or down) to. Honest, hardworking, fun to be around, tons of patience, and many many more!

 

Twilight's a very close second, because she never afraid to take the lead and show 'em who's boss, plus she show us that being smart isn't such a terrible thing.

Well... my role model that i look up to would probably have to be Fluttershy since she is dependable and the element of kindness which is something that i value alot. But like Doctor XFizzle mentioned, Rainbow Dash is passionate, determined and of course loyal which i also value alot, so i would say that Rainbow Dash comes quite close to Fluttershy becouse of that in my oppinion, but it would still have to be Fluttershy.

The entire point is that they're supposed to exemplify certain traits and the ideal person should maintain them all, and the flaws exist to service entertainment value.

Unfortunately the show's only moral premise is the idolization of friendship or family if anything at all, and in a philosophical paradigm the aesops they teach loose their strength as a result. Indeed they'd never be able to have any philosophical truth claim declared without being called some kind of religious dogma or other such critique that would get the show on the chop block right-quick.

 

All of them can teach the kids these day basic human behaviour.

 

Such as skating, casting spells to put bears to sleep, baking cupcakes, overstretching your ability to tailor dresses, eating sandwiches, playing pin-the-tail-on-whatever-have-you, spinning in small circles, yelling, getting a haircut, digesting cupcakes, the drama between brothers and sisters, and how to act responsibly in the face of an insect swarm attacking your community with no protection from Federal preventive and protective policies.

 

Holy dang this show is like My Little Pony meets Team Fortress 2 meets Mr. Rogers vs. U.S. Congress meets Gandalf The White

imo Applejack would be the most suited to be a role model. She's one of those strong female Rosie the Riveter types (I think those are what girls are into nowadays), is honest, pretty (like 100% of the cast lol), and seems to be the only pony of the main 6 without any glaring personality flaws. The only flaw I remember is her

fear of letting others down, as shown when she refused to return home to Ponyville because she didn't win any first place ribbons or prize money in the Canterlot rodeo.

 

If not AJ, then Twilight Sparkle, because she's intelligent and the main character (children can have simple minds :?).

I'd say Twilight or AppleJack....They're both the most level-headed, I think, and the most reasonable, mature, and diplomatic.

But you're right about all of the mane 6 acting as role models! I definitely think one of the main morals of the show is to be true to yourself.

Rarity and Pinkie Pie. I'm always a little biased when it comes to pinkie, but hear me out.

Pinkie pie basically shows people that you should always be kind to others, try to cheer them up, and be a generally good person. That is something that everyone needs to learn, in my opinion.

 

Rarity's whole thing is to help out your friends and stuff, no matter what you get in return. The world would be a lot nicer if everyone did as Rarity, and learned to share and help people no matter the reward.

And she doesn't have a man just because she 'needs' one,

she has standards and doesn't let a man mistreat her or use her.

She is better than that,

and that is a RARE quality is a girl.
