Ever lost hours worth of work?

Goodness, yes. My art programs have randomly closed out at some of the most inconvenient times. I remember having a lineart completed and the system just ate it up right before coloring. I was so upset, and still have yet to redo it. Now, I am so paranoid that I save obsessively. I'm even at the point where if I'm doing traditional work, I start thinking "Must save. Where's the 'save' button?! Oh..."

Once I spent about an hour typing a blog but then I accidentally erased it all and was like "I give up, I'm moving onto something else".

Had a video project a while ago. Windows 10 decided to randomly update while I was in the middle of something and it screwed with every single file I had.

Heh, yeah. I've been in the middle of making digital art and the program just decides to crash. This is why i always save my work every like 30 seconds I swear XD

I only dread to think about how many hours I've lost in my paycheck. I don't normally check, but one time my friend did say based on how much I worked that week, I should have earned more. Oof. Usually I check hours worked and it sounds about right.

One time I was doing a drawing on my phone that was almost finished and I accidentally deleted it or hid it from view or something 

There was also one time where I printed a ton of pages for a business class but since the school was shut down cause of COVID, the teacher never picked the papers up so the printing was useless. I ended up turning it in digitally like we should have from the beginning.

I sure have. I remember typing away at one of my stories (one of the really intricate parts that aren’t easily re-done) and was doing a pretty good job of remembering to save my progress every ten minutes or so. But after a while I got so engrossed in the work that I forgot to save, and managed quite a lot of progress before I apparently hit some button, or brushed against something on my computer and wiped it out. My document closed, didn’t save and didn’t give me the usual pop-up asking me if I wanted to save before closing. I was just suddenly sitting there, staring open-mouthed at the screen wonder what the **** just happened. A copious cornucopia of cursing commenced, accompanied by stomping, pounding and general invective. Some annoyance was subtly expressed, followed by a feverish attempt to recapture everything that was deleted before I forgot it completely. I managed to get some of it rewritten, but it never seems quite the same the second time around. Not a good thing when it happens.

On the old computer I used to have, I would always play my favourite game, RCT3. The problem was the computer was very old and buggy so not only was it laggy but it would also crash on me for no reason or it wouldn't notify me that it was about to shut down for an update!

I guess this has happened to almost everyone at least once. I was lucky enough this happens only once to me a long time ago. I wrote a longer text for a school project and I forgot to regular save. After that I used system for automatic saving in regular intervals and also redundant saves. Since that this have never happened again.

While thinking about this, I think there was once or twice some incidents with Skyrim where some saves got corrupted and couldn't be continued anymore -.-

Yeah every time they decide to do updates and such at work and not tell anybody on the floor. These are planned updates and shutdowns, they just “forget” to tell us about them. It’s a lovely surprise, then we have to call and be told a general estimate of when it’ll be back online.

Yeah. A handful of times, I was sent home for a few days due to low volume in my last position. They were all less than two hours earlier, but still early leave.

in another job, I caused minor damages to my employer’s equipment and private property by accident. No one saw me, and considered going in my merry way, but decided being discovered was not worth the risk and reported it. I got suspended and not allowed to go back until I took a drug test which of course was going to pass. However, said incident happened a Friday, and the testing facility doesn’t work weekends, so it took longer than usual. At least let me watch live Rainbow Roadtrip, so there’s that

I was playing Pokémon Silver ages ago, plugged in to a wall socket so I wouldn't have to worry about my batteries dying. I'd been playing for hours, and it hadn't occurred to me to save the game. I think I cleared Ecruteak City, Olivine, that city across the sea, and then Mahogany Town, Lake of Rage, and the Rocket base, when I accidentally knocked out the plug. Fortunately, my Game Boy still had batteries in it, so it remained on. I breathed a sigh of relief, plugged the cable back in...and the system rebooted, sending me back some five hours. I was...not happy.

I once been making an animation and decided to install an addon to make things "easier". It didn't work properly and erased all animation keys after uninstalling

My old webcam had a shitty driver and would regularly bluescreen my pc if I tried to use it more than once before restarting (most of the time anyway)

I obsessively back up stuff and copy to clipboard and things so it hasn't happened to me too seriously. The rage when I lose even a little bit of work though D: takes me ages to calm down.

I think of the times when my digital art files would be corrupted in some way. For instance, saving a file then the computer crashes before it is completed.
