WIP: Melke (tips needed)

Melke

Recommended Posts

(edited)

I have been developing my OC for many years (from writing its backstory and drafting its personality and defining him to finally drawing him out)

Melke is a non-pony and non-canon OC of mine that comes from another dimension to the MLP universe.

I have many other OCs that I have to develop but this one seems more difficult even though I like this one most.

I need help with mostly the color. I want to retain the color purple but I am unsure on how to apply it (main fur color, secondary fur color or power energy).

Melke is around the size of Spike (MLP version for his biped stance or EQG version for his natural quadraped stance). His forehead mark has changed since its first conception.

Read his MLP story here (you can find more information on what kind of creature is he from the 'others' section):

i would think either pink fur, yellow fur, or even blue fur.

but then again, it's color has to agree with it's personality. so maybe list a few traits?

The red one in the sketch reminds me of the robot-boy from Clannad. And now I'm sad. :(

My only advice on color would be to use the ones you like. I know that's vague, and not specific, but I'm a follow-your-heart kinda guy. D:

I wanted to keep purple as it is my favorite color as it is reflective of my personality (This OC was designed to be a direct mirror to me irl, unlike my other OCs). I guess I really hate uncertainty and I am more aloof and distant from people. I see things objectively at time and it makes me sad at times.

Pink is plausible as I am quite sensitive and delicate inside. But I am not using pink originally as the OC has to be visibly a male.

Yellow is not one of the strongest choices as I am more of a negative person than positive.

Blue is quite often used and it does have a sense of clarity and serenity, I quite like it previously before purple.

Despite the colour, I need suggestions on their placement (main fur colour, secondary colour or power energy)

The red one was part of an artistic exploration deep into my own mind. Basically, the idea was to think deeply and define my subconscious mind. I have yet to see clannad but it is funny how it links to an emotional anime like that.

how about light purple, or a violet shade?

aura/power would be a dark blue

secondary color would be white. cant go wrong with that as a secondary, eh? XD

but this is just my personal opinion.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will be sure to test it out.
