gaming Most horrifying game character death you've seen

Modern games can be so realistic. Every detail can be so great. This includes dying characters and death animation. Ever since the original Doom, death animations have been quite gruesome (doubly so with Brutal Doom mod).

So out of curiosity, what is the most horrifying game character death you've ever seen? This includes ALL game genres, not just FPS and such.

For me, it's Isaac Clarke's death when fighting the Hive Mind in Dead Space.

This enemy gives one of the longest and most horrifying death to a game character I've ever seen. I winced so much every time I failed at a particular part and saw how I died. And worse, the death animation lasts for about 10 seconds before loading last save. 10 seconds of bloody and gory visual enhanced with character screaming in pain. Heck, I even closed my eyes the first time... which didn't really help.

Speaking of Dead Space, I don't know why, but that eye needle thing freaks me out. I have some weird phobia of eyes or something cause I gagged when I saw that the first time.

Oh boy... All I really need to say is the death of Nana in Corpse Party. I can't even go in depth into why because it would break the global rules, so I'm going to speak as matter of factually as I can. Her legs get violently removed by a zombie man, she gets dragged away still alive and dies in a violent and cruel way which I can't even allude to.

What happens to her and her death is horrifying enough, but the image you're left with afterwards is downright chilling. A majority of the most horrifying deaths I've ever seen in media let alone video games were from that series.

The first two execution scenes in Danganronpa were pretty messed up. Sure, these people are killers, but they are just teens who want to escape from the school before someone else kills them.

The game is a murder mystery so spoilers ahead!

In the first case, the murderer was a baseball player so his punishment was to be shot by a pitching machine until he died from internal haemorrhaging. Simple, but also a brutal and rather painful way to die (I remind you that the person being executed is just a teenager).

The second killer was executed by being strapped to a motorcycle which accelerated so fast that he got reduced to mush by the G-force. What really makes this one nasty though is that the fat from his body is collected by a machine and used to make butter, which is then eaten by Monokuma.

I've seen many Mortal Kombat fatalities.

Needless to say, a lot of those deaths are fucked up.

I'm fairly desensitized to fictional violence, but the first time I saw Ermac's fatality in MKX I felt a bit disgusted. Getting most of your digestive system torn out through your mouth must not be pleasant.

Joseph's death in Resident Evil (remake) is not a very pleasant sight. In the opening, S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team travels to the Arklay Mountains via helicopter. They investigate the area in search of the Bravo Team. They find the opposite team's helicopter, only to discover that most of the team is nowhere to be found, save for the pilot's body. Upon discovery, Joseph runs off in fear. He is alone in the forest, or so he thinks, as he is bitten by a dog. He attempts to fight back, but is then attacked and killed by multiple dogs.

The worst part is that the whole time, he has a shoulder-cam set to film. When he is attacked by the dogs, it falls off, hitting the ground as blood trickles down the lens, accompanied by Joseph's agonised screams...

Killer 7: Getting to see his daughter decapitated before being shoot in the head may not be the most painful, but it's certainly the most horrifying if you ask me.

Some of the deaths in Tomb Raider 2013 really get to you. The one that always makes me cringe is during the water slide segment where she can be impaled if you don't do it right.

She doesn't get impaled through the stomach or anything sane like that. No, it goes right through her chin and up her head. She flails around for about half a second before going limp and you can feel the trauma the last few seconds of her mind experience.

This is a boss' death in The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time. If you're playing that game or plan on playing it and you don't want to know anything about the game until you get there yourself, do not click this spoiler.

When saving Princess Ruto inside that one monster's body that I forgot the name of, you then get to the temple's boss. When you defeat it, all of its insides explode and fall to the ground.

If you're talking about Lord Jabu-Jabu he's not a monster, he's the Zora's local deity. They worship him.

I also don't feel like it's much of a spoiler since it doesn't offer any story insight. But whatever floats your boat.
