Mane six ages? Equestria girls

Do you think the mane six ages in the FiM universe are true to what they are in equestria girls? In equestria girls the mane six are in "High School" do you think this is a hint twards their ages in FiM?? So far in FiM little has been mentioned of their ages.

I think each of mane6 is at least 18 years of age. I have sense that Rarity and Applejack are oldest of mane6 because of responsibility of running clothing business and farm; not necessarily correlation to their age but I think it makes sense. Mane6 being secondary school students I find is strange in MLPFIM universe. So no, I don't think EqG age is equivalent to FIM age.

I would probably say their ages are equivalent to slightly older than 18 in FiM, but the difference is certainly small enough that it's not a big deal.

I watched a theory video, and according to the theorist Twilight is seventeen, Pinkie Pie, Applejack and Rainbow Dash are eighteen, and Rarity and Fluttershy are nineteen. I'm not that sure about that, and neither was the theorist, but he had some really good points that I certainly agree with. Although no one can fully be sure, I'm pretty sure that's the closest I'll ever to knowing!

I would say they are around 18 years old as humans. (Give or take)

 

The characters in Equestria Girls are not the same age as their pony counter parts. At least it wouldn't make sense. Look at Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna for example.

EQG I'd say the Humane 6 are probably around 16-17ish - I can't remember if it says what year they're in, but IIRC they're older than freshman? Sunset Shimmer is older I think, maybe 17-18ish.

 

I personally don't think the EQG ages correspond to their pony ages, though it's hard to know for sure - in FiM they have jobs and responsibilities that makes them seem at least early 20s, but then we don't know what age ponies leave school, etc in Equestria so it's possible that 16 year old ponies, say, leave school/mature faster than their human equivalent? Meh, I'm happy to go with my headcanons until we get confirmation either way, but I don't think it matters too much

I don't think so according to my Mane 6 age headcanon. The Humane 6 is probably about 16-17 years old while the Mane 6 is 20-23 years old as they have jobs and run businesses.

They're probably younger in the EQG universe, I mean, in MLP universe, they have jobs and live alone, but they go to High School in the human universe? It's really weird how they decided to do that.

Unfortunately there are some weird issues that show up if you try to map the ages in Equestria Girls to their pony equivalents. We know the Fluttershy the pony is a year older than Pinkie Pie the pony, but the human cognates are in the same 'year'. We know Sunset Shimmer has won enough popularity contents to have four pictures with obvious age & personality changes between them, and yet Big Mac who as a pony is at least a couple of years older than Apple Jack is still attending the same school. Cheerilee is a teacher in both... if this high school is in a country with the same laws as the US, then there's some uncomfortable implications going on there. The CMC are attending the same high school?

 

And then there's Luna, Celestia, and Granny Smith between them throwing things right out the window. If the ages are compressed enough to make Luna and Celestia relative, then Granny Smith would likely have just graduated. Yet she's not.

Cheerilee shows a stronger evidence that the ages of humans and their ponies counterparts are not the same, as pony Cheerilee, as seen in some flashbacks, she's at, or closer to the ages of the Mane6, in contrast to her human counterpart where she's clearly older than the Humane5

Well, in the movie Sunset is running for her 4th Homecoming Queen, making her a Senior.  The Mane 6 were friends last year but Sunset broke them up.  This makes them Sophomores, age 15-16.  IMO this Twilight's "real" age but the others are older in EQ.

I'd say they were about 15-16 years old, though I'm not sure how long you stay in school in America. If they stay in school up to 18 they could be older than 15-16.

Are we talking true chronological and temporal age, then no.

 

Keep in mind an 18 year old horse is rather old for a horse. When horses reach their 20's they are usually put out to pasture.

I'm guessing that there in there senior year in high school, 17 or 18 years old. We know that there at least 16 because we see flash sentry and vinyl driving cars, and they're roughly the same age as the mane 6 (human 7). In the first movie Principal Celestia (the cringe is real) says that there's a fall formal princes every year and we see three pictures of sunset shimmer with the crown on the wall. This indicates that sunset shimmer is on her 4th year of high school, and she is around the same age of the mane 6.

I think they are 16 with the exception of Fluttershy whose 17 with a summer birthday or started school late for them all to be in the same class. Another thing that gives this statement evidence is that Big Macintosh is still in school though I suspect he's in his senior year.
