That's what came into my mind as well, but I shall foil that by being the first person to post a song by Rush

You would know that, because you're an egghead.

So, umm... uhhh... uhh... do you guys know any Opeth songs I might like? Preferably with growls, please.

This is more slowed down death metal, but death metal nonetheless. Even for all you tsundere lolis.

Learn to like non-metal stuff ;D

The Drapery Falls is my favorite song by them that one has growls in it, but not throughout the whole entire song, only near the end of it.

And also this song would be a good one:

I was actually going to post that song just now. Goddamn I really need to start typing faster.

Then again, I haven't listened to much Opeth beyond Blackwater Park.

I really got into Pink Floyd last summer, but I haven't listened to them as much lately. Other than that, I'm somewhat of a fan of Tool.

That's cool I love Tool and Pink Floyd, I have Dark Side of the Moon on my iPod it's a great album, and Lateralus was a brilliant album as well, hoping to get Aenima and 10,000 Days as well.

Could you be able to name any bands other than those two that you actually do like? I'm not fully convinced yet

But anyways let's not get too off-topic here. Have some Animals As Leaders

Oh alright then

Nirvana

Sonic Youth

Pixies

Black Flag

Soundgarden

Pearl Jam

Alice in Chains

Social Distortion

Joy Division

The Cure

Is that proof enough that I'm not a metal elitist ? Oh and I'm starting to like Opeth now.

So basically you only like music when it has a guitar in it, okay then, and that's cool you're getting into Opeth, some seriously good stuff, I still need to buy Blackwater Park, hopefully I'll get it when my Birthday comes up or I'll be able to save up my own cash for it.

I have ONE NWA album but that's about it really, so I guess you're right :I. I listened to the song Bleak by Opeth, I really liked it.

You should consider listening to Nine Inch Nails, or The Prodigy if you wanna get out of music that's just purely guitars

Also leaving a Pink Floyd song to keep this post half relevant, one of my favorite songs from their album

Dude...I fucking love NIN, they're my all time favorite band, I've listened to all of their albums though I only own The Slip and The Downward Spiral. My favorite album they've done is The Downward Spiral, and my favorite song by them is Closer.

Posting Periphery to keep this post relevant to the original topic, damn if this keeps up then I'll run out of songs to post

My favorite NIN album is Pretty Hate Machine. To keep thing relevant, is it okay to post any technical death metal on here? Do you like Necrophagist?

Hmm....well after looking it up I guess I'll be okay with that stuff being posted since I'm not that picky about what gets posted here, and I've only heard of Necrophagist.

Yay. I would post something but I'm on my phone. Dang it :/

Necrophagist is really good. I'd highly recommend their album Onset of Putrefaction to both eggheads and non eggheads.

Ayreon is more progressive than anything posted here so far:

And one of my all time favorite songs, also from Ayreon:

I'll be back with more prog shortly. Other people should post now so I can post more music without it auto-attaching to this post and being subject to the "2 videos per post" rule.

God, finally :P

Symphony X, a favorite band of mine. New Mythology Suite is such a fantastic album.

Shai Hulud is pretty progressive, I think:

I'm pretty sure Between the Buried and Me is progressive, so I'm gonna post one of their songs.

They're Technical Death Metal/Progressive Metal and their early stuff is Metalcore, so yeah they do count.
