Eh, there are way more annoying fans than the Dream Theater ones, Petrucci isn't an untouchable god, his vocals aren't even the greatest sounding in the first place. And I think I know what specific YouTuber we both may be thinking about when mentioning annoying people who listen to Dream Theater.

Hahaha yea. In your opinion what bands have the most annoying and butthurt fanbases. I really like Slayer and Tool but they're fans can be a bit, you know, at times.

And here's an awesome Iron Maiden cover.

KIND OF LIKE YOU WITH CANNIBAL CORPSE?

That's a joke, don't take it too seriously bud.

I only like their stuff with Chris Barnes, In other words, their first four albums. Plus, Cannibal Corpse doesn't get much love on here, ya know.

If you ask me it depends on the person, you have idiotic people who just don't understand other's music and just insult it without any knowledge at all, then you have the other people who are all just like "okay, whatever you listen to that stuff, and I'm fine with what I listen to", all fanbases are like that.

Yeah Rush are a progressive band, though they don't get too well mentioned anymore due to the fact of how critics always hated them, and 90% of the female population as well.

In terms of bands though, they have one of the largest followings in my opinion. My rabbi even gave a sermon where he talked at length about Rush.

They do have one of the largest followings fan wise, though not critic wise. There are tons of Rush fans, though they aren't well respected among critics, I don't know why but critics just don't like Rush, they have their reasons though.

I've gotten into arguments with rap fans before, I wasn't even attacking them. They're the one who start shit by saying things like "It sounds like he's chocking on a dick".

There are a lot of things that have large disparages between fans and critics. I wouldn't go so far as saying Rush is a cult group, but it certainly seems that way. KISS is like that too, in that they have a large, dedicated fanbase, yet the critics don't take them seriously.

Like I said not everyone in a certain fanbase is like that, that person will probably grow up someday and realize that one's musical taste is the least of their concern.

I never was implying that Rush are a cult group, I was trying to imply what you had just said, they have a large fanbase filled with dedicated fans, though critics don't take them seriously.

Yea, you're right. He's a big 2pac fanboy and let's be honest 2pac, like John Petrucci isn't some sort of god.

I'll be back in a jiffy, in the meantime here's some Opeth.

@, we get it, you don't like prog besides Opeth and all. Maybe you don't have to be every other post in the thread? ;)

Not technically "prog", but a boundary-pusher for sure.

Hmm,...the only Swans album that I've ever listened to is The Seer, which I absolutely love (especially the album cover) so I might have to check out that album as well. Also yeah I don't mind Swans being posted here, they're close enough to me.

Crispy, Viscra, 92, and Zoop's (to some extent) are the only msuic threads that ever actually go anywhere. Why do we need mooooore? I like being able to dump all that stuff in the metal thread, damnit mellow.png

BUT WAIT MODERN PROG METAL OH SHIT NICE COOL YEAH

(Ignore the image please, only video on there that's not a cover or live)

Hooray more pointless music threads.

Anyway, let's get this show on the road.

The greatest Post-Metal project of all time. Neige, you are my hero.

And now for some Post-Punk. Obligatory Joy Division ahoy:

Post-Dubstep? Fuck yeah!

Have some Kontext, an artist I have really gotten in to lately. While it's true that most of his stuff is minimal garage/techno, he does venture in to the boundaries of Post-Dubstep from time to time. So freaking underrated

Oh yea, and it's impossible to have a Post-Dubstep related thread without mentioning James Blake

This isn't goth, but it's post-punk/No Wave. Sonic Youth are really good.

Well I'm not sure what else to post so I'll just leave a Tool song here.

BUT WAIT MODERN PROG METAL OH SHIT NICE COOL YEAH

Blistering reality. Imagining a world in limelight. Never
Will it be out of my reach. I've heard the lies a million
Times, but did it ever steal from my soul? Bleeding from
The lungs, I see, a life complete above the darkest hole.

That's my favorite part of the song :3

And wait...what's this?...my favorite band of all time? I think so.

The whole Murder Ballads album is fantastic. @duhgentee, I think you will like Nick Cave. He's like if Leonard Cohen was into goth rock.
