So how and why did you pick your OC's Name?

I first wanted to call my OC Night Breeze, simply because I wanted a beautiful name, but then I decided to be more original and I called her Purple Breeze. (Purple because there is this color in her mane xD)

I picked My OC's name by looking at the original picture I did of her and noticing the colours. Her Mane was Blue and reminded me of Diamonds in which the Diamond part was created and The coat was Turquoise in which the Turquoise part was based on, so I combined the two words and named her Turquoise Diamond.

Amber Dust:  I chose the name Amber based off of the little girl from The Uncut Story of Mewtwo's origin, even though they really have very little in common. I just like the name. I chose "dust" because I thought it sounded sufficiently magical and unicorn-esque. After I chose her name, it actually inspired me to make her an archaologist. (Amber is an ancient stone, made of petrified tree sap)

 

Plum Pudding: I honestly chose this name before coming up with her personality. It just sounded like a cute name, and I had a nice colour scheme in mind, so i just went with it.

 

StormJumper: Shamelessly ripped off from two of the dragons from HTTYD, Cloudjumper and Stormfly.

 

I also made an Alicorn once, for a world leaders RP, named Princess Horizon Dust. "Dust" because she was partly based off of Amber, and "Horizon" because she was supposed to be the princess of hope, i.e, the sun peeking over the horizon.

I've explained this one before, but I'm bored so I'll do it again: Winter Nocturne is describing two things: The coloring scheme and musical theme.

 

Her coloring (coincidentally - using the coloring of my hair and eyes, plus white for the body since I like white-bodied pony's designs the best. =P) came out to be that of a winter night - white for the snow, black for the sky, and brown for the leafless trees/bushes/shrubs. 'Nocturne' is a musical genre meaning "of the night", so it simultaneously pulls in the description of the night and a musical context.

 

Wish it could be something more related to wind instruments since that's what I'm kind of all about, and nocturne really makes me think of the piano, but I'm lucky I could pull all of these concepts together into a name as it is. =P

The name was actually suggested by a friend of mine. Originally I just called my OC Blackened (my main screen-name), but a friend suggested the name Blackened Blue, which I thought was a good name, so I adopted it. The name itself is a pun on my screen-name and the phrase "black and blue".

Audacia Ventus, Blazedtime helped me with this name. My OC is a pirate, And Audacia Ventus means "Daring Wind" wich I Think fits her personality
