SugarfootWillie 383 November 20, 2015 Share November 20, 2015 I found this video in the depths of the internet after years of forgetting about it, and it brought to the forefront of my mind this: I make some funny faces when I get into the pocket. So I gotta know: do you make faces when you feel a groove? What sort of faces do you make? I know I've made these

When I need to concentrate I look like I'm angry at my fretboard.
Sekr Gray 520 November 21, 2015 Share November 21, 2015 I play play(ed) the violin, so I'm pretty limited to moving my face around. Most people see what they describe as "constipated concentration," as I've been told by some audience members. >.>
SquipyCheetah 449 November 21, 2015 Share November 21, 2015 I'm always focused and concentrated on the music. Once my orchestra teacher told us to focus on smiling while playing... It was a train wreck afterwards.

Bogrick Grey Mane 2,594 November 23, 2015 Share November 23, 2015 As a trad Irish musician I seem to spend most of the time either looking down at the floor, or just draped over whatever instrument I;m playing at the time. This is more often than not due to the large amount of Guinness that seems to be involved in trad sessions. I still haven't decided if the pints a drunk between the tunes, or if the tunes are played between drinking the pints :grin2:
gamecubeguy214 2,512 November 23, 2015 Share November 23, 2015 (edited) That I know of, I keep a normal face but have an internal org***, depending on the song. EDIT: Do you mean playing music on a tablet or playing music manually on an instrument. Biggybrony 244 November 24, 2015 Share November 24, 2015 When I'm playing guitar, if it's a slow blues solo or something like that I will often have a slightly sad straight face. Kind of straight and expressionless with some sad droop around the corners of my lips. If it's a piece of shred and it's really difficult to play then I might tense up a bit, my eyebrows will lower and I'll look a bit more stern. Maybe clench my teeth a bit if it's really intense, difficult or I'm really concentrating. I'm not a medical expert, psychologist, psychiatrist, teacher or love doctor. Take my words with a pinch of salt, yeah? I am an experienced cook, musician and care worker though, so that's something.
EpicEnergy 23,224 July 6, 2020 Share July 6, 2020 I don't play music, but I do listen to music, and what face I make depends on what type of music I'm listening to. *totally not up to any shenanigans*
Tom Gallagher 33,595 July 6, 2020 Share July 6, 2020 When I sing, people say I make odd faces. I guess it's because I'm concentrating. Signature made by the amazing @Sparklefan1234

Fritzy 1,692 July 7, 2020 Share July 7, 2020 Depends on the type of music. Is something feel good? I smile maybe bob my head along a bit that kind of thing. Sad music get a sorrowful look. Really intense stuff gets well intense looks. You get the point. 1 Tumblr Youtube
