Why is it that brony songs are just so... Brony?

I did this over on Reddit but I want to do it here too.
It seems like a lot of the time, in order to enjoy a brony song, you must be really into the fandom.
(case study:

)

If something relies too heavily on the fandom to be enjoyable, it isn't really good. It's just "trendy" or "edgy".

What do you think?

Well it is brony music...

What else do you expect? The point is to show appreciation towards the show and the characters. Even if most songs is about ponies, a lot of them can be enjoyed by people who isn't into mlp. Take "Great to be Different" by Forest Rain for example. It has a great message and even though they sing about ponies it's something everyone can relate to.

Also, all brony-made music isn't even about mlp. There are tons of brony made songs that aren't related to mlp.

This song is by SimGretina for example

Not all brony songs are that brony to be fair. While a large majority are, there's still quite a few out there which don't rely too heavily on it's MLP nature.

Exhibit A, sure it has a picture of rarity but someone who knows nothing about MLP would not recognise this as explicitly brony at all.

No... Not quite. Some are but not all. And some of the songs are "pony" only in title or in the picture your see in the video. Case in point...

Point me something about the song that is "brony". No, the ponies in the artwork do not count. What's more, Aloe and Lotus could mean their real-life equivalents.

Many instrumentals are like that, it seems. They may not even draw reference from anything from the show and at some point I've wondered if some musicians have done this just to ride the wave of brony hype to help with marketing themselves.

The following one is even more inconspicuous.

To a non-brony, nothing about this screams MLP (except for the related videos but that's beside the point). We bronies can recognize this as a (beautifully) humanized Applejack but a non-brony might see it as a Rule 63 Link with green eyes dressed like a cowgirl. Seriously, look at that hair.

This was the song that turned me into a Brony. When I heard it I didn't know anything about My Little Pony but I still loved it.

No.

I found that song in a "Brony TF2 Servers in a Nutshell" video and I didn't like it right off.

The reason?

WHEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Oh gosh, I'm getting into rant territory, I'm gonna stop.

A lot of brony-songs-that-are-about-ponies are dubstep, and I don't really care for them. Why so much dubstep? ARE THE CHILDREN JUST LISTENING TO DUBSTE-oh wait I'm a teen never mind
