general Where do you want to live in the future?

A lot of places I would want to live. Great Britain would be one, preferably Scotland. The Netherlands would also be great. I am going to be moving to Colorado later this year, and I am really exited because I love Colorado. I currently live near LA, but I would also love to someday live IN LA.

do you happen to know what cities in Sweden, Scotland, Canada, or Alaska would have the lowest costs in terms of housing?

It is rather cheap to live in Sweden... or... well, was. Until the whole refugee thing. I am not sure if anything has changed, if not, then it should be really really cheap to live there (otherwise Norway is the better option, since that is where most Icelanders move when they are "fleeing" the country :P).

Iceland has been the place on my mind. It sports very low homicide rates. According to the World Bank, homicide rates there fluctuate between 0 and 1 (rounded) per 100,000 compared to the USA's 4 - 5 per 100,000 (Source). The World Bank has no data for my country but I already know that my country and the USA's rates are very closly matched. Iceland's electricity is almost completely fossil-free (Source). The temperature over there doesn't fluctuate too dramatically, ranging only from -9ºC to 19ºC in Reykjavík, Iceland in 2014 (Source).

It is not cheap to buy or rent a house, depending on where you want to live in Iceland (if you want to live in the Capital Area, then it will be a bit expensive)... or at least, it is not cheap for an Icelander to live in Iceland :P. Many immigrants who move over here have it rather nice, as they can get some back ups, especially if they have a secure job in the country already :)

I want to remain in my hometown for the rest of my life, I have no interest of living in some other place in the future, I get really homesick.

Although, I would love to go back to the United States someday.

In the far future? On the Moon of course.

Can't blame you. If it were possible, I'd wanna spend the rest of my life on the Moon as well. Its landscape is full of interesting craters and mountains to explore plus I like to be away from everyone but that's just me

Not to mention the beautiful view of Earth

But until then, I'll have to settle for somewhere peaceful and lovely in Northern Europe

@@@Dsanders,

Not that I blame you guys or think you are wrong, but the moon is more a place I think I would visit than live full time. As comfortable as I am being alone, I do need a sense of community. (Hence my patronage to the brony fandom in part.) It doesn't need to be big, I love my small home town, it was my first answer to this post's question after all. As it stands though, the early moon settlers aren't going to have much of a community as they are still trying to set things up.

Me, I'll wait for the Lunar and Martian communities to take some root and have something in the way of a local culture before I consider living on either.

I'd love to live in Sweden. It's a beautiful country with a relatively great economy from what I've heard. Its capital, Stockholm, is especially an extraordinary sight in the wintertime. I also have Swedish blood so I'd fit right in.

Have you ever been to Sweden? If not, visit me for some fika already :S

You are right. Let me just say something I've noticed though.. In the big cities (Stockholm, Göteborg, Malmö, Uppsala) it's very expensive compared to other places since so many people want to live there and they're not building homes fast enough so they have to raise the price tags. However, in smaller cities it's usually very cheap. It's kind of odd how our prices are so different depending on where you live.

Just take this for example: In the city where I live, the average price of a shrimp sandwich would be around 5 dollars. When I have been in Stockholm, I have never seen a shrimp sandwich go for under 20 bucks. lol bad example maybe and not even relevant... but whatever.

Oh I kind of forgot to answer the question haha

Well... I know there's a bunch of bs going on here right now but I don't really give a shit. I kind of like Sweden and I don't really feel the need to move to another country, I enjoy living here. I see a lot of people saying they wanna live in Japan.. well... While I do like japan I would never want to LIVE there because of the huge cultural difference. You have to behave in a certain way and society can be just very odd at times. I wouldn't be comfortable with living in such a country after growing up in a country like sweden. If I had to pick another country I'd say Norway, England or Canada.

I want to live in the south of France.

I always loved the climate of the southern France, and I don't see myself living somewhere else than in France, and most particularly in the southern side of the country :3

I've always really wanted to live in Ireland. I'm not sure where exactly in Ireland yet; last time I visited the country, I really loved Limerick and Cork, but who knows. Things can change. But Ireland. That's the dream. Someone get me out of America?  :please:

Why exactly though? What about the city attracts you?

Pretty much everything about the city! All the entertaining places, the great beaches, the weather, large city, a lot of opportunity for films and video game careers, etc. In my opinion, it would be the best place for me to live in! :)

Fair enough, as a gamer, cinephile, and novice writer, I can understand.
