Well, if I remember correctly Smile HD had the entire "smile smile smile" song in it. And Derpy gets pranked had the hub logo in it. And I wouldn't call Cupcakes a parody.

I have my doubts on it being taken down due to "Smile Smile Smile" being in it due to fact Foozogz who for remixed the song has it on his own page yet to be reported. Hasbro would quite easily know that he has the song due to credits in the video description. I could be wrong but for them to take down one and not the other it seems more likely than not they're simply censoring material they consider unsavory.

 

I will take your word for the Derpy videos as I am in no position to debate that one having not seen it

 

Comedy is subjective so whether or not you personally would call it a parody doesn't affect whether or not it comes under fair use.

For Smile Smile Smile song used, it was a remix instead of original song.

I guess I'm glad this time the takedown was of a video that many find (regardless of the maker's intentions) offensive to the fans and creators of the show. As opposed to a compilation of skits showing a juvenile pony gamer.

Can I actually say that I am GLAD this guy's content was taken down and it has NOTHING to do with the quality of his content or me not liking it. I actually do not like him for impersonating a Top Draw Animation member and insisting that he worked on the actual show with no evidence and I think this more or less proves that he does not. The entire claim was clearly just to gain more viewers and I think this action is a good one because the guy took it a step further than "copyright" by blatantly claiming he actually WORKED for the company that made the content.

 

I had a conversation with him on DeviantArt where I brought up how it didn't make sense that he worked for Top Draw Animations, and that the show owners would not appreciate him doing what he does. He insisted he worked for them and when I asked for some kind of proof he avoided so and dodged the question by being snarky and sarcastic. Finally he said he would provide a business card or  some kind of company logoed thing that he owned with his name blurred out and he never did.

I have never been a big fan of his videos, especially these particular videos because I don't want to think about blood and gore while looking at ponies.

 

In a way though, I do feel bad for him because he now has to endure the crap chute known as the YouTube copyright system.

As I pointed out above his content may have been taken down because he claimed he WORKED for THX when he did not. That is definitely grounds for a copyright claim to disassociate from someone falsely claiming they worked for a company that make content for Hasbro.

 

This is a totally legitimate claim.

Meh, I only ever showed people those videos for humor sake. In reality, they are just videos made for the sloe purpose of shock value. Once the shock of it is loss, then the videos lose all of their values except for their animation.

I understand Hasbro's point of view on this. The art style while exaggerated is quite similar to the original and can be confused as such, so they would be protecting their intellectual property at that point. Same thing happened to Jananimations. 

 

That being said I really liked his stuff, Dark humor will always have a place on my funny bone. To be honest I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did.

I've always been wondering what the true story is myself as I've seen a mixture of Hasbro sending a C&D to him, or he taking it down himself as he got fed up with the drama and how it ended.
