do you like my base? do you know how to make a base? if so what art program do you use to make bases in or do you use you hands? have you ever made a base?

I sketch all my bases by hand first until I get something close to what I'm looking for then scan it and use Gimp to do the actual piece.

I just find it easier that way being a traditional artist

Looks like the Alicorn or Uncommon unicorn base..

This one seems traced though..

 

Learning how to correctly draw the body

and base without guides can be tricky..

 

I've been drawing for quite a while and still have to use

some guidelines digitally sometimes.. But with pencil and

paper there's no reference to trace, so i have to rely on

memory and drawn guides.. And they've turned out fine

I am 90% sure that is traced over someone elses base.

 

I do all images from scratch, so I would use Paint tool Sai if I wanted to make a base. I don't usually save the bases, but I have two here from older images.
