So, found this on my Facebook feed..MLP getting the Game Of Thrones treatment.

 

I've not really watched GoT much myself, but it's a cool Trailer nonetheless. Kinda showcases the possible adventures that're gonna ensue and the places they'll visit.

I've never seen Game of Thrones, but man this trailer is epic. It just makes me feel even more hyped for the new season!

 

It also made me want to start watching Game of Thrones.

Now THAT'S what I want to see in a trailer. It does a very fantastic job not only parodying GoT, but also hyping up season six.

Wow! This looks really cool!

I haven't even seen GOT, and the trailer already hypes me up for season 6.

Also we know that sometime in the season we are going to see manehatten again, and it was shown briefly in the trailer.

But also the most interesting part of the trailer was the dragonlands were we saw Spike for a little bit.

Maybe we will finally learn more about dragon culture this season and through that Spike can get some character development.

Honestly... That trailer did nothing for me. If you care about GoT, then you can have your own opinions. To me, it's just some silly gimmick that really means nothing more than "It's hot! Let's copy it! Instead of making our own thing with its own personality."

 

Edit: People, I'm missing the point. What about it hypes up Season Six?

Several posters in this thread: "This is awesome!"  Immediately followed by, "I've never seen Game of Thrones!"  Just amuses me. xD

 

Don't care for it, personally.  And largely because I have seen GoT and read several of the novels.  "Like a constantly graphic, sadistically soul-crushing, purposefully dragged-out, and politically-saturated series where the author has a fetishistic need to cut this or that appendage off of every other character?  Well then you'll LOVE season six of My Little Pony!" x )

I think we can pretty safely chalk that up to being just a joke aimed at the fandom though and not anything really meant to indicate what's to come though.

It comes off as being just pure fanservice with no substance to it, kind of like how the IDW comic artists will draw random doodles of the characters doing stuff like cursing at each other or being drunk for the enjoyment of the adult fandom.

I imagined someone might do this. Although the vision I had in my mind used the actual Game of Thrones theme and had the same CGI affects. They should have included the Crystal Empire and Griffonstone in there.

 

But it's better than what I probably could have done.

Yes.  Oh, yes.  I've been envisioning a proper, full length GoT MLP intro for a long time.  I seriously toyed with the idea of taking a crack at it myself, but after ballparking the time required, particularly for rendering, I decided against it.  My time is just better spent on other, potentially lucrative projects.  But I really wish I could make the whole thing, and make it look as good as the real deal.  My vision uses the chandelier of memories for the "sun", and then the cutie map.  We would visit Canterlot first, then Ponyville.  Replace that face tree thing in GoT with the Castle of Friendship.  Then we take another look at the chandelier, just like in the real thing.  Then we're whisked off to the Crystal Empire.  We see a close up of the Crystal Heart, then pull back, zooming out with those flippy lens thingies until we're far away again, then we tilt down, back to Canterlot, passing briefly over Cloudsdale on the way by.  Then we tilt sideways across the Celestial Sea to visit Griffonstone.  Damn, that would be so awesome.  I fantasize about it a lot.  But for now, we'll just have to make do with this.

Great minds think alike. One thing I would add would be replacing the cuts to the tapestry that shows the animals of the great houses of Westoros and the preceding events with the crystallized events from Equestria's history under the tree. Namely, the rise of the two sisters, Luna's banishment and then finally the Remane 5 surrounding the ascension of Twilight Sparkle in a similar style to the stain glass in Celestia's castle.

Honestly I don't understand why people are getting so excited about this thing. its just a joke parodying an adult franchise for older viewers.
Freaking SESAME STREET did a game of thrones skit, its not like this is anything special.

The Simpsons did it and South Park did it, too... pretty much everyone and their mom did a GoT's intro parody, but that's not the point! 

 

Most pony trailers look the same... Just a bunch of episode clips stitched together and that's pretty much it. Even though this one is just a parody, I find it refreshing and somewhat creative. Sure, it's not an original idea and everyone's already done that... but given the previous pony promos this one stands out. It's just different!
