I expect the bizarre things she comes out with are just her way of reminding the bronies that constantly interrogate her of the fact that she has had nothing at all to do with the cartoon for the last four and a bit years. It seems pretty clear that she's just throwing random spanners into the works and having a laugh at everyone's expense.

It would also work perfectly well if he were straight.  My point is that if this actually mattered to her then it would have been mentioned in the books, the fact that she left is so long, coupled with the fact that there is nothing solid to support it in the narrative tells me that it was probably never her intention to begin with, and she chucked it it retrospectively in a cynical points scoring move.

 

What I really wanted to get across though, is that unless a characters gender, race, religion, sexual alignment (of any other of a thousand other characteristics) has to be specified for the purpose of the narrative, then don't do it.  If it has no bearing at all on the story then it becomes nothing more than extraneous detail, just leave it out completely, let the reader/viewer interpret these things for themselves in the way that makes most sense to them rather than resorting to cheap tokenism just to pander to whatever minority you're trying to cosy up to.

She has since revealed a lot of stuff about all the other characters, and I think that Dumbledores sexuality is quite relevant to his character considering his relationship with Grindelwald.

I disagree about it being relevant, I saw nothing in the text that implied even remotely that their relationship was of a romantic nature, but that's just my own interpretation from when I read them.  If it was relevant, and was established in the novels as such, then there's no problem at all.  On the other hand of course, none of the spurious announcements she has made since are canon anyway because they were never established in-universe, so the reader is quite at liberty to disregard them if they prefer their own perception of events, or to embrace them if it compliments their own view.

I think that pretty much sums up what I said in my last-but-one comment. She's just having a bit of a laugh at the expense of the people who still think that her word is gospel in all things MLP related despite the fact that she has long since ceased to have any input into the cartoon.

I think it was Fluttershy, hence the FlutterGuy thing. She Assumed Her Final Form as a young pony, before we see her as a weirdly tall and unusually-bodied deer-like Pegasus in Rainbow Dash's flashback.

I'm pretty sure she's just referring to Trixie, since it's been confirmed more than once that Hasbro "changed her from a stallion to a mare..."
