I swear there was a Sims thread here but I can't find it for the life of me. Any simmers here? :) There's going to be an announcement on the 19th (my birthday :D) I'm hoping/thinking it'll be a pets expansion :)

My Origin ID thing is Catastrophe19 btw :) I sometimes upload houses to the gallery if you want to follow me :) My houses aren't amazing but I'm getting better at making them :P

I really really really want Sims 4 to have a pet expansion.

If so I'm gonna like scream and jump around and just wow I can't hold the excitement in even now!

I play The Sims occasionally (the second one was my favourite), but mainly to build houses. I don't really care about the Sims' lives part of the game, I just like building houses. :P

I love The Sims.  I've been playing since the first game (that was back when I was a kid!) Right now I'm playing The Sims 3 and love it.  I don't plan to get into the Sims 4, but I've gone from would never play to would play if free. I do love to watch people playing the Sims 4 because it can be really funny.

I stopped playing after Sims 3. EA disgusts me with how they treat the industry and their fans. Sims 4 was so bare bones and stripped of content, I say good that it didn't sell well. I used to love this franchise, but EA has effectively turned it into "buy this $30-40 expansion so you can get stuff that probably should have come with the base game!" That and placed it on Origin, yeah no thanks, I don't need that crap on my PC.

It's a shame because I loved the original 3. They were great games, ruined by a shitty publisher.

I'm doing a legacy challenge again :) I did do one before in The Sims 4 but my save file corrupted >___< I'm on my third generation now :)

I do agree. I didn't like The Sims 4 at first at all but it grew on me. I thought I would miss CASt a LOT but it made The Sims 3 lag so much for me I'm not that bothered that it's not there anymore. I would like a colour wheel or just a basic colour palette though. The lack of an open world doesn't annoy me so much anymore either, the loading screens don't last too long and districts are open.

Whenever I play the Sims 2 or 3 I miss multi-tasking in The Sims 4 so much. I like how you can pee and drink coffee at the same time :P The Gallery is also a LOT nicer/easier than the Sims 3 Exchange ever was. I also like how social events feel like actual events in The Sims 4, in The Sims 3 it just felt like you'd just stick sims in the same lot. There are also a lot more sims in community lots compared to the Sims 3.

The one thing I still genuinely miss is toddlers. Babies growing into fully grown children looks stupid.

I wish EA would stop pooping out Stuff Packs though. I can get custom objects/clothes for free which sometimes look even nicer.

There are improvements in Sims 4, it's just a shame of all the things they did badly with Sims 4. Like I think the worst thing they did was HOW they shut down Maxis Studios. I kid you not, this is how it happened:

They went to an annual event that is intended to CELEBRATE game developers and at the event they ANNOUNCED they were shutting down Maxis Studios. Like that's like going to someone's birthday and announcing their brother just died.

I have so many fond memories of playing the Sims on PS2 and PC with my sister, those were some good times for sure. Even if the PS2 release was rather limited in many ways, it was still really fun. Shame that the console version of The Sims 2 was an absolute abomination. Thinking of the originals though makes me happy. I remember I once recreated my own house to the best of my ability and it was actually really fun to do. ^__^

I also friggin' LOVE The Sims 3 on Xbox 360. That game is fantastic for a console release in this series. I would still play it if it was backwards compatible for the One. :| They need to do that!

I like to forget that The Sims 4 even exists. It brought so little new to the table. It's such a stagnation. That's an absolute deal-breaker for a series like this, where for each installment you will likely be spending a fortune. I refuse to do that for a shoddy product like The Sims 4.

I'm so happy to be free, actually. To not have to wait for Pets and Seasons again. Those features should be implemented to some extent in the base game by now. Weather and Seasons are as natural as the sun setting and rising. EA only excludes that from the base game because they know the fanbase is too dense to see otherwise (trust me, I've been in TS communities for 12 years now, I know). And pets... After a certain point in a series like this, it should just be there from the start. There have been Pets EPs since The Sims 1.

As I said, I'm just really burnt out with The Sims now. TS4 finally broke me free, though! They made such a mediocre product that even I couldn't give in to it.

Love the sims. I've played every major sims game since the first one. I actually really like the sims 4. I think the art style and animation is really great.

Although that game does stuff to a person. I've done a lot of horrible things in that game.

I haven't actually played a console version since The Sims Bustin' Out :o I just stuck to the PC games.

They're generally unimpressive.

Honestly as far as we understand, Sims is more or less "dead" to EA because Sims 4 didn't meet their sales expectations. They may make another one after all the expansions are done for Sims 4, but it seems like EA's mentality about the Sims is that their stupid plan for Sims 4 didn't pan out so "I guess people don't want Sims games". They're known for missing the mark so horrendously though.

I've played a few The Sims games throughout my life, such as The Sims 3 on PC and Nintendo DS, The Sims Pets, and the classic and very first The Sims.

Usually I have played the games normally, but since I discovered there were expansion packs, I decided to install it into my game. Needless to say, I had an amazing time using the game mechanics, with or without DLCs.

They have cared so little about The Sims 4 from the beginning... Or perhaps I should say even before the beginning. I remember, they announced it in a trailer and then took an entire year to show it again/reveal any information whatsoever about it. That pretty much solidified in my mind that they had absolutely nothing to show for with it (since the initial trailer failed to reveal any really major new features). And that turned out to be very true.

Now, the The Sims fans that are somehow left are suffering from another drought in information. I'm glad to be sitting here on the sidelines, not caring. Apparently there's a reveal coming up. Will it be another Stuff Pack that no one cares about? Will they release a feature that should have been in the base game in a $40 Expansion Pack? Or are they going to throw TS4 out, like they should be doing? (Unlikely) We'll see.

They're announcing something tomorrow. I'm presuming/hoping it's going to be an expansion as it has been a while since the last one was released. I agree though, a lot of things should have been in the base game. They released it unfinished in my opinion. We still haven't got bloody burglars :| or toddlers. They are things that were in the Sims 2 base game for Christ's sake.
