Were you to give the mane six random power ups/getups for an episode or GOH...

So, anyways, looking at the fake S6 premier trailer, and looking at GOH and questions about the mane six saving the day in any episodes...

 

Were they to make another episode or toyline (ala power ponies) where the mane six get some random costumes and power ups ala the Fake cinematic, what would you give each of the six for both powers/abilities and armor/costumes?

What would you think would be a good super power/ability to give the six in another power up scenario? what would you want their costume/armor to look like? would you want it to be a random joke type situation ala what power ponies was, or a permanent thing?

I would like to see the return of rainbow power, or a superform that works similarly to it, but has an actual good color scheme.

Basically it would be RP 2.0 and have the same magical effects that it had in Twilight's Kingdom or function like how the Elements of Harmony did.

Something like the works that Meteor Sparks did on deviantart with his versions of the rainbow power forms would be what I would want these hypothetical upgrades for Guardians of Harmony or the movie, or whatever too look like.

I am glad someone likes the fake animatic I made.

 

I would like to specify some things which weren't clearly depicted in it. Spike's armor was meant to make him super tough and strong, he was meant to be careless and slamming through walls.

 

Pinkie was supposed to be lighting balloons which explode into fireworks.

 

Twilight's powerup was meant to give her two floating cutie mark drones that would follow her and copy her spells. It was supposed to be a reference to Gradius' Option/Multiple.

 

I have/had high hopes for the Guardians of Harmony Hero Items to play a big role in the series. I prefer it drastically to the super power laser beams we usually get. The way I imagined them was meant to not only give them more specific utility beyond super laser beams, but it also addressed the issue by removing the entire restriction that only the Element Bearers could use them.

I would have Rarity expand her Gem magic beyond just finding and digging and combine it with her extreme percision to have her basically weaponize Gems. Like she'd have some armor or something laden with Gems that she could fire off and manipulate. If anyone here has watched Legend of Korra you guys know Kuvira and how she uses the metal plates on her armor to fight, it'd be kind of like that basically.

Sadly, I do have to admit though that giving Rarity that power would seem kind of like copying from Sombra, since he had the whole "gem control/summoning" power going on.

 

(on that note, would a better example be Garra with sand? Sand armor and pretty much anything with sand he can think up?)

Agreed there; they fit her so freaking perfectly. Plus, they gave her another way to emote, since the random objects she'd pull out for various things were good for an insight into her general way of thinking (like how discord will often summon or throw away random objects to punctuate his sentences/scenes)

 

Honestly, they aren't even that strange of an ability for a unicorn to possess anyways; they aren't really real objects so much as formed telekinesis, and lots of other unicorns have shown far more powerful abilities than that--- Granted, Rarity isn't exactly a magical prodigy or super wizard though like other characters though.

Honestly if you're asking what Applejack would choose, she'd choose merchant since that's all she does in life is run a business. Being a knight? she gets into fights, but that's not what she'd choose for herself in life.

At the same time, Rarity also runs a business and that's her entire life goal and dream. She does it with much more subtlety and social interactions than applejack, but she's still about running a business.

Merchants in fantasy are nothing like those filthy apple-peddling peons (those are called farmers). They sell potions, maps, glittering treasures of immense power, trade with secrets and gold. When it comes to heroism in whimsical worlds, everything begins and ends at a merchant’s shop. And running such an establishment ain’t easy. It takes skill, magic, and quite a bit of charm.  It also takes an eye that can distinguish a real artifact from a fake, a true rarity from common trash. Merchants are those who would rather talk or trade their way out of a dangerous situation since they’re often pretty weak when it comes to combat. Now be honest with me: do you seriously see AJ in such a role? Cause I sure don’t.

 

We’re talking fantasy hero stuff that is supposed to have a wow effect while letting characters do what they do best. I don’t understand how apple peddlers got brought into the equation?! And no, AJ is not a good merchant. She’s a very bad merchant. She’s a decent farmer though, so there’s that. Also, being a knight is not all about fighting, it’s about the way of life, and there is no pony more knightly than AJ. She might resist at first, but in fantasy, this kind of profession chooses you. Protecting things you love is not something an apple farmer can mange without the aid of iron variety. Besides, knights have farms too you know. Big ones.
