gaming Overwatch: Your favorite/least favorite heroes?

Overwatch is a game that is famous for many different things and one of those huge reasons is the insane variety of characters, especially for a multiplayer shooter, all with detailed backstories, it is immense. So with such a huge variety of characters and playstyles, it brings about the ultimate question: Who is YOUR favorite hero(es) AND least favorite? If you want you can just say one or the other.

My absolute favorite is the almighty Mercy, the uber-Swiss Medic of amazingness. The medic role is one I am born to do in these games and she is no exception.

Big fan of Reinhardt .

Catchphrase! - Reinhardt

Still waiting for Blizzard to release a Burn/Toxic Tank. >_>

Oh Singedy. The day I can play a variant of your majestic self in overwatch would be a most wondrous day indeed .-.

Least Favourite?

I don't have any...I guess maybe widowmaker because getting sniped is never fun o_o.

My favorite would be Reinhardt. Mechanically because he's a melee guy, my preference in most games that allow it and conceptually because he is that archetype of superhero that acts as knight in shining armor to a modern world. To the point where the developers explicitly compare him to Don Quixote, one of my original heroes.

My least favorite "hero" is Roadhog. Both because he's not even a hero to begin with but even amongst the villain characters at least Reaper and Widowmaker have bigger ambitions than just causing mayhem for the sake of it.

Gotta be that Tracer, which is odd as I usually don't go for the quick 'squishy' sort of characters, I'm normally more on the tank side of things, but I found that Tracer is loads of fun and can be surprisingly disruptive, especially when you sneak behind them and take out their Reinhardt before he realises what's happening XD. When not Tracering, I sometimes play Pharah, Roadhog or D.VA (although still getting comfortable with D.VA).

Least favourite, would be Reaper. I just can't get to grips with him, I guess he just doesn't suit my play style. A good Widowmaker is an absolute pain to play against, as is a good Genji (although both heroes are easy kills with less experienced players behind them).

Favorite hero is Tracer, it took a while but I think that I've finally gotten gud with her. Still am perfecting landing that pulse bomb, though. Although she is really fragile if you play her properly you can dodge pretty much every shot that comes her way with blink, and if you do get hit you can recall.  She also does decent damage and is such an overall blast to play.

Section-wise, best defense hero is a tie between Mei and Junkrat, both are super fun, tank is probably Reinhardt, and support is probably Mercy and Zenyatta.

Least favorite is Torbjorn. As tracer, since the turret has aimbot, it's disgustingly hard to take down - at least I can blink circles around a bastion to confuse them. It isn't too much trouble with Genji and Widowmaker and Hanzo, but I suck at all 3. Torbjorn on his own does really good damage to me, but thankfully his headshot hitbox is the size of alaska. He's also such a bore to play.

Have the courage to think and act on your own. And have the courage to disobey.

I'd have to say Zenyatta is my all time favorite, with torbjorn being a close second.

Zenyatta allows not only an extreme counter engage with his ult, but the orb of discord is extremely underrated. Pop it on a heavy tank and it becomes a mere squishy in seconds.

The same could be say with torbjorn, good counter engage ult with amazing zoning abilities. Not to mention bonus armor for all!

Whenever I'm hit by one of his discord orbs I hightale it outta there to get rid of it (besides keeping something contested naturally). He is another one of those played well can be a huge asset to the team, but played badly (like by me XD) he can be less than useful.

I can also add Mercy to one of my favourite, tried her out yesterday and actually had a lot of fun with her (still not a great Mercy player, but practice makes perfect :D)

In order of Offense, Defense, Tank, and Support, my favorites are:

When Attacking: McCree, Junkrat, Zarya, Lucio

When Defending: Reaper, Junkrat, Roadhog, Mercy

Overall Favorites and Why:

Offense: McCree. He has something of a disengage with his Flashbang, and while his alt-fire (Fan the Hammer) has been nerfed significantly, I still find him satisfying to play, namely because I have decent aim and can land headshots.

Defense: Junkrat. He's not even a close question. He has lots of vertical mobility and tons of indirect splash damage, and can easily bust through a defensive set-up so long as he knows what he's doing.

Tank: Zarya. With a high skill-cap as Zarya, she brings tons of kill potential to the field. A fully-charged Zarya is a fearsome opponent, and her ultimate can practically secure kills even if remotely thrown in the vicinity of the enemy team, provided allies are there to help.

Support: Lucio. He provides utility and lots of it. Speed boost or healing? Your choice depending on the situation. His ultimate can be thought of as a "soft" Mercy ult; rather than waiting on your teammates to die, you give them this so they don't die in the first place. And if worst comes to worst, you can always soundwave someone off a cliff-face.

Of course, with the buffs Zenyatta, D.Va, and McCree are about to receive, as well as Ana's release, some things may change.

Just to say something here: my new favorite support class, for both attacking and defending, is Ana. Having played her on the PTR, I can safely say I like her kit and her handling.

"Time is just an illusionary factoid that all natural things are bound to. It has the power to crumble even the mightiest of mountains into little more than dust, yet if it is an illusion, why is this so? Because people waste a lot of time, only wishing they had more. Little do people realize an inescapable fact: Time governs those who wish they had more of it. By wishing you could use it better, you govern time, and you can get all the time you'll ever need." — Starfall, Quillwaver
