Just wondering but...is anyone from Team Instinct? My home is an entire field of blue. x_x

Represent  B) . Our leader guy is easily my favorite of the three. We're outnumbered, but Instinct takes over a decent number of gyms in my area even so.

Anyone else notice that Pokemon are harder to catch? I had to use 4 Pokeballs on an Eevee last night.

Definitely.

It's weird, because everyone says that. Meanwhile, I found Pokémon to be harder to catch a couple of days before the update, making me waste 10 balls on a damn Pidgey and now it seems alright for me again. It seems even easier to hit curveballs now ^^

Aside from that, I'm really pissed off at Niantic, mostly their lack of communication.

It seems about the same for me as before the update - I'm much more annoyed that the power saver has been removed (from iOS at least), now this game really chews through my battery!

Couldn't use it on Android anyway because it was causing the game to crash while in battery saver and leave you not being able to click on anything anymore forcing you to restart the app and costing you precious Pokémon and distance on eggs .-.

I listen to my instincts.

And I'd like to say that we're the only of the three teams around here that does not bother to take over rival gyms at 3 AM as well.

"Time is just an illusionary factoid that all natural things are bound to. It has the power to crumble even the mightiest of mountains into little more than dust, yet if it is an illusion, why is this so? Because people waste a lot of time, only wishing they had more. Little do people realize an inescapable fact: Time governs those who wish they had more of it. By wishing you could use it better, you govern time, and you can get all the time you'll ever need." — Starfall, Quillwaver

Now that the updates happened, I can't help but feel a bit disappointed because of the deletion of the whole pawprint system.  :wau:  Even though I still enjoy the game as it currently is, the pawprint thing would definitely have made searching for some certain pokemon easier.

Would you play an app that's like Pokemon Go, but with Ghostbusters, where you go around catching ghosts?

I've already heard someone mention this idea somewhere and I absolutely would!

The pawprint thing never seemed to work properly for me :/ so I don't miss it.

It never worked for me either but having it properly fixed would have been nice in my opinion.   Sometimes it gets frustrating when there's nothing indicating that I'm even going in the right direction. Except for when the pokemon disappears from the list though.

Stinks my mom has a negative opinion of Pokemon Go, it makes me feel bad because the game is really fun.

My sister was much the same...until repeated bugging from me and her friends made her download it, and now she's hooked XD. Though I know many people who look down on the game and it's players, but I just ignore it - just because they don't like it doesn't mean that I can't.

I've named my Pidgeot after one of the more vocal opponents of the game, and make sure to update him whenever Pidgeot levels up etc :D

There's just a bit too many flaws to it, especially with its obvious dangers for oblivious people (no offense to the fans) and people with physical disabilities. I mean sure the app allows you get up and do walking while searching for Pokémon, but what if you'd inadvertently stumble upon a neighborhood filled with people who are looking to mug, rob, or worse (like kidnapping), trespass into restricted areas (e.g. military base, cemetery, construction site), or even unwittingly cross into traffic without looking (or even not looking at the road while driving)? Plus, the battery life from the phone while using Pokémon Go can reduce pretty quickly (which is why I'm glad I never downloaded the app).

As much as I love the idea of Pokémon Go, its not without its obvious dangers that basically outweighs it all, but that's just my opinion. But still, the app isn't to be taken lightly, especially if you'd have to venture yourself into unfamiliar areas where you're likely to be in trouble for your own safety just for a single, if not rare, Pokémon.

Just be careful about the areas I mentioned from my previous post.

As far as muggings (and other things) go, just exercise common sense. There are a few routes around me work gyms and stops, but they are in parks and the city centre. They are pretty safe as you are less likely to be mugged in such a public place, especially one which is frequented by families.

But I was walking back through one of the routes to get home late at night on Friday, and didn't get my phone out at all - with few people around and little in the way of lighting (being parks and all), I'd have been a perfect target if I kept getting my phone out (especially considering it would have lit my face up like a beacon with the backlight).

But use some common sense and this game can easily be played safely.

I don't get the hate it gets. It's getting people outside more.

I get the feeling that it may be because it's Pokemon that is often seen as a 'kids' game, if it was something else the flak may not have been bad - when it was released a load of us at work downloaded it and another colleague said: 'It's Pokemon, how old are you again?'

So I reckon that's one of the biggest things people have against it :(

i'm SO excited that Pokémon Go is out!!!!

i'm super competitive with my older brother and we've always loved/rivaled in Pokémon. Beating him isn't my only motivation, but it's up there.

he's a level 23 last i checked, and i'm a level 21 about to be 22 atm.

one big complaint about the game: my first 10km egg i got was an Eevee. It should have been something amazing, something hard to find. Eevee's come in 2km's. ARE YOU KIDDING ME NINTENDO?!

I live in the country so I have to walk like 5 good kilometers (around 3 miles for fellow americans) to get to the nearest city, and it's a small one so not many Pokéstops but at least I've got 2 gyms...

Fortunately, a friend allowed me to live in his appartment for 4 days, so we've had tons of fun and naturally we played Pokémon Go every night, and it was really fun. We met some people from our team on our way and were able to talk a bit with them to take control of a gym or to exchange some pro tips on which places in the city were best to find good Pokémons. The game is great and allows a lot of interactions with strangers, but I'm still a bit upset that Niantic just completely removed the footprints system instead of actually fixing it. The game could be a million times better if they listened a bit to the community's demands (and if they added more Pokéstops in places like where I live, but we'll have to wait a looong time for this). It's a great game, but it clearly has potential to be much more enjoyable if Niantic listened for a change.

Regarding the hate Pokémon Go gets, well the game probably receives hate from players like me suffering the side-effects of living in the country and not in the city. I don't mind that much but it sure is annoying.

You should also take in consideration that medias have literally done everything they could to make Pokémon Go look bad. I've been crawling under notifications of articles with titles such as "Had a car accident because of Pokémon Go", "Died because he was playing Pokémon Go", "This woman fell in a hole while playing Pokémon Go"... Naturally, most ignorant people won't even consider that the game isn't responsible for any of those incidents. One quickly forgets that it's not the game's fault if you had an accident in the traffic, you're not supposed to be playing in the first place while driving.

And naturally, there are people thinking this is a child's game. Don't really want to comment on them, thinking all mighty whereas they've been playing Candy Crush non-stop for 5 years. It's a great game and my mom is more than happy to see me go more and more often outside for once.

Regarding the media, it's the hot new video game, if they can fill headline with it (no matter how tenuous the link) they will, but of course won't mention the positives such as getting people actually to go out walking. Still, despite all that - I'm still loving the game (just wish they'd bring back my battery saver so I can keep it open for more than 5 minutes before it devoures my battery XD
