Your thread has been merged with another thread dealing with the subject of a Derpy episode in Season Three. As for the general subject itself...I don't really want to see a Derpy episode, not after the controversies we had surrounding her character in The Last Roundup. Assuming she were even allowed to have the name Derpy--or even Ditzy Doo at this point--she likely wouldn't be all that interesting thanks to the way she was altered. That said, I wouldn't mind seeing a minor nod or two towards the Doctor. I have recently gotten into Doctor Who, so if we were to, say, at some point in the series see what looked like a TARDIS lurking in the background, even an altered parody version, that'd probably be the closest we could get to seeing any acknowledgement of the Doctor Whooves fanon. Copyright issues abound, after all, and I personally can't see the BBC agreeing to allow Hasbro access to their copyright just because some older pony fans like turning a random background pony into The Doctor and Derpy into his companion. 2 Used to be known on here as Kyronea. Well you see there isn't any deal with copyright. I'm sure if this was a real Discovery sci-fi type thing then it would be a big deal. I can't see BBC getting ancy about a show with such a demography... You don't seem to understand. Doctor Who, the TARDIS, and other associated properties are owned by the BBC. Hasbro does not own these properties. If Hasbro wished to use the fanon of Doctor Whooves in any form, they would have to contact and request permission to use the copyright from the BBC. Considering we're talking about the copyright to one of the most beloved characters in all of British television, for use on a childrens cartoon program, I can't see Hasbro ever even wanting to try to use it in the first place. Besides, the fanon is just that: fanon. Half of the fanon involved with Doctor Whooves relied upon other fanon, principally the way the fandom developed Derpy as a character, to begin with. And unless we want to truly say there are Time Lords and Daleks and other such things in the FIM universe, stuff I can't see adding much to the show in terms of canon material, there's just no reason for the show to ever write an episode based on Doctor Whooves. Sure, it'd be cool. I won't deny that. I'd probably love the heck out of it if such an episode were actually written and made. But it's not going to happen. Copyright issues stand in the way, issues that would likely prevent such an episode from being made even if the show writers were to desire to write one to begin with, something I doubt they would choose to do. But yeah, realistically I can't see Hasbro making a episode about this as nice as it would be. I could see them doing something like Kyronea said though to acknowledge all the fannon content though. If were lucky they might even try a bit harder and get permission to do something small but special but that's mostly wishful thinking. I won't deny the possibility though as small as it is. I'll chill back and be happy with any more Derpy (or similar fannon stuff) they dish out. Everypony is special and has a unique talent. You see, just exactly what happened after The last Roundup can be used, as a lesson in Tolerance, in Caring, in Understanding, in the actual series. Think of it, after The last Roundup, Derpy may have noticed how less people wants her around ... so she was clearly happy when she got invited to the wedding. However, during the festivities, she got ... a bit down, possibly after a few people avoiding her, and Celestia notices that, and asks Luna to talk with her, and report back. Luna does so, ..... and Celestia considers things. Some time later, Celestia tasks the Mane 6 with a wierd duty: To bring Derpy to one "event" each. They do encounter people who ... are unsure ... about Derpy being there, as well as people that goes directly "No, thath trouble-maker may not enter", and they deal with it in their own ways ... What do you think would happen in an episode like that? Derpy CENTERED?! AWWWYEAHAWESOME!!! Anyway, I think that it would be kinda like an interview, with Derpy listing the best ways to eat a muffin, favourite muffin flavors, wierd muffins around the world, etc. Burning toast since 2002!
