spoiler Villain in season 6 finale

Following the events of the Season 6 Finale, Queen Chrysalis was stripped of her title thanks to Thorax, who is now the kind King of the Changelings.  Furthermore, she has rejected the idea of redemption and has flown off, vowing revenge on Starlight Glimmer for overthrowing her.

Now that she is no longer the Queen of the Changelings, we all know that she'll be back in Season 7 with the whole "At last, we will have revenge" ploy.  But what do you suppose will make her even more of a threat next season?

One scenario I hope will come to play is her teaming up with King Sombra and Lord Tirek.  Perhaps Chrysalis discovers Sombra's horn and uses her magic to resurrect him.  Then goes down to the depths of Tatarus to strike a deal with Lord Tirek.  Therefore, the terrible trio is born, regarded as Equestria's worst nightmares.

Your thoughts on that idea?

useless and overused.

they better come up with the new villain and cool story line for *it*. i think it's endless guessing game that goes nowhere. you can't predict what authors and writers would create so.... it's pointless.

*oh, how much i love her name tho {Queen Chrysalis} oh gosh, it's amazing!

Can you remove the spoilers from the thread title? Adding "spoilers" to it doesn't hide it from people you are spoiling this way :P They see the title anyway.

Edit: I meant to remove the spoilers about Queen Chrysalis, not the "spoilers" word, which was useless anyway, because the spoiler is in revealing the name of the villain, not in the word "spoilers".

Can you change the title so that it wouldn't reveal any major parts of the plot for the finale?

Edit 2: Thank you very much @, now it's much better :)

Chrysalis may be gone now, but that does not mean we might see her again, and in a worse-case scenario after watching the Season 6 finale, putting Celestia, or any of the Royal Family or Mane Six into a cocoon again to keep captive for who knows how long as part of her next revenge scheme that is targeting Starlight now instead of the Royal Family or Mane Six.

She will most likely recruit some help since even her own kind are now against her and everything she has done so far has been a total failure.

Now, what would happen if her plan was....Nightmare Chrysalis? :o That would be brutal, but it wouldn't happen.

I'm not asking for a cliche team up... If it is done cleverly, than good. But I am tired of new villains. The movie is the only exception because every movie that adapts from a cartoon should stand out from the series. I love my bug queen... I can be patient for her possible return. But given the Guardians of Harmony toy line features her... We never know what Hasbro is gonna do with Chrysalis, Tirek, Sombra and Adagio.

@Sonic4521

I didn't like Starlight gaining Chrysalis's hatred. I always loved the rivalry between Twilight and Chrissy since it was a family matter Chrysalis got herself involved in.

Chrysalis is gonna have to parthenogenetically reproduce more obedient changelings after what Starlight did.

That was my first thought too, and I started imagining an epic battle between good Changelings and bad Changelings for a while ;) But then it came to me that this battle wouldn't last long because the reformed Changelings can simply tell the non-reformed ones what is the secret of love and let them reform too.

That's the problem with all secrets: the moment someone tells the truth, it's no longer a secret and cannot be kept secret anymore. Queen Chrysalis's power over her minions was based on them not knowing that they can live a better life when they reverse the flow of love. Think about that next time you'll be thinking about your government controlling you ;)

Changeling magic seems very unique judging from the throne artifact. It alludes(in my opinion) that the changelings once held a higher state of power aeons ago.

Chrysalis could breed a very robotic swarm for all we know. I thought the changelings transforming was gonna be a stupid idea, but shortly after I was fine with it. Chrysalis simply has more motivation now. When anyone is lazy and in a comfortable position, they're not on the edge and could possibly fall. Starlight Glimmer was useless in that throne room, it was Thorax that saved the day. Chrysalis is 2 for 2 in terms of excellent plans defeated by a deus x machina.

Yeah, but if Glim Glam wasn't there, Thorax would most likely fall prey to Chrysalis in a snap, because he didn't know the true power of love in him, and he wouldn't figure out that he can just reverse the flow of love to defeat Chrissie. More likely, he would be scared that she will drain all the love out of him and he will be starving again, so he would do what he can to stop her from draining more. It's only after what Starlight told him when he could do the realization.

And again, this is a strong parallel to how governments operate in Human World: they do their best to convince people that they're nothing without them and that they need government to be able to live (or should I rather say vegetate). They try to convince people that they cannot live without the government because it pays them money for social security, health care, public education etc. But people usually don't realize that governments don't have their own money, and everything they pay to people comes from draining other people with taxes.

Chrissie did the same to the Changelings: it's really her who needs them to live, because she seems to be the main cause of their starvation: she deceives them that it is she who cares about them and supplies with "food", so they work for her. But in reality, it seems that it is she who drains their energy and makes them starve to make them needing her. When she gives some love to one of them, she most likely have to drain it from others without them knowing, or by feeding on some other creatures' love.

Hmm I am wondering though... While this would be true for the government part, are we sure that Chrysalis didn't know? It seemed to me she was as much in shock as everyone else.

If this is true, it'd mean that she truly was doing what she thought was best for her people (which is what I like to think). And she did appear to me as more scared and insecure than defeated, just before she turned Starlight down.

If this isn't true though, then she'd be a teeny tiny tad more evil... and I doubt she'd be queen again so soon. I do wonder how having 2 potential leaders will affect the changelings in the future, though. Especially if (or rather, when?) Chrysalis is reformed.

The thing I like about Chrysalis' character is that she has so much potential as a villain. Shapeshifting is hella powerful, she doesn't really need an army. Only real issue I see is if the writers are okay with going for a third two-parter of 'changelings replace people'.

It absolutely depends on what happens with Chrysalis after she was overthrown by Thorax. She may either try to take revenge by Brainwashing other ponies like she had done in "A Canterlot Wedding" or try to put matters into her own hooves.

But, I predict that Chrysalis would be reformed like the other villains durin Season 7

I find she's starting to have more potential as a reformed villain. Shapeshifting can only go so far before it starts getting old. She's a good impersonator though and has "brainwashing magic", so there's still stuff to exploit before she does reform.

Starlight is her sole focus now. She's managed to capture Twilight and her friends, as well as Cadance and the other princesses. Her revenge against them has been exacted, so... Either she still has a people to lead (since part of the changelings may have not evolved), or she hasn't anymore.

If she has, it will mostly play against Thorax and Starlight, but the risk is that it be too similar to her other 2 attempts. Though a civil war has its venues, to! If she hasn't, she could impersonate ponies and try to destroy Starlight's mind like this. Destroying her emotionaly - which Starlight is likely very weak to, given her insecurities.

Regardless, I can't to see what they have in store for us!

Technically speaking, she had exacted her revenge on the Royal Family and Elements of Harmony by kidnapping them, cocooning them in her throne room, and replacing them with drones to feed on everyone's love for them, but when Thorax convinced the Swarm to turn on her so they would not be hungry anymore, their first act of repentance was destroying her throne and, in the process, freeing the very same ponies whom they had only kidnapped some time ago, who returned the favor for giving them their freedom and access to their magic back by protecting them from their former Queen, along with wanting their own retribution for what Chrysalis has put them through now, and back at the Royal Wedding.

However, since Chrysalis did escape, they now know she's still out there and will be back, and will be ready for her when she does return.

If I know my villain tropes and I certainly do, the chances of Chrysalis joining forces with Tirek and Sombra are slim to none. I mean, they will team up and attempt to work together, but their own individual agendas will quickly sour their alliance resulting in them going their separate ways. If anything, Tirek would likely absorb the magic of the other two and cast them aside. Sombra, however, is perhaps the odd case here. He was reformed in the comics yet we don't know if that will transition over to the show proper. Perhaps a new villain is needed to shake things up a little.
