i was on a camp and i was bored during the only free time they gave us so.. what did i do? i drew some tanks XP the first 2 (an M103 than a tiger 1) where rubbish than i drew a tiger II which was ok... than the jagdtiger which i think i drew best than the maus.. i screwed up the shadow big time but.. meh..
i also feel that i should mention i didn't have any form of reference, its was all off memory XP

to sum it up... boredom and computer games lol

 

it started with a childish interest in planes, ya know, as a little kid the giant flying busses where always cool than while looking up more about modern planes i stumbled upon a picture of a german ww2 medium/dive bomber called the JU88 (this isnt the picture, i don't remember what the exact one was, it was years ago lol)

and i personally fell in love with how it looked i wanted to know every little thing about this plane and saw a youtube video of someone flying it in warthunder... after a pane staking 3 and a half day download i was grinding my way to the ju88... i got it in a number of days but after like a year and a half of planes i became bored.. and decided to give tanks a go... the lighter ones where lame but oooohhhh my god was i in love with the idea of heavy tanks! i didn't know anything about tanks when i first started, i got a lot of information from research and asking other players and well... like 3 years of looking at the same beautiful hulls embeds them into your brain so i didn't need a reference picture XD part of it is the fact i think german ww2 tanks look so amazing! and as i learned about them more and more i came to love them more and more ^-^

 

especially ones like the tiger, tiger II, jagdtiger. panther, maus... all the big german ones (i have a soft spot for the hetzer and the panzer III E, they are so cute )

i was in no mood to draw the wheels/tracks and hull so i just bull s***ed some bushes XP it didnt quite work but its a concept for my OC's cutimark... im probably gonna need to simplify it for that tho e-e

Those are actually quite good.  I'd say your better then a 12 year old .  I was thinking of giving it a go myself but I have school now to worry about.  I'm quite impressed those are by memory since you have some small details on them that I would never by able to remember like that.

When I say that I'm worse than an 8 year old I'm talking about when I draw ponies XP I haven't put much effort into ponies so naturally I'm not very good..

 

And just incase anybody was wondering the checkered pattern on the tiger II is meant to be zimmeit (it is applied at the factory and makes the tank immune to magnetic mines by creating a thick layer bettween the steel hull and the magnets so they won't attach X3)

Oh cool, I've seen the checkered pattern on a German heavy tank destroyer at the Canadian war museum so I knew it was a thing but I did not know it was for mine protection.

Those are really good! Even though they are rough looking, you've really done a good job on the proportions and perspective. Both are things that are hard to pull off.

awww ty! i try ^-^ tho i kinda find they go together well :/ you know.. like how folded paper is stronger than a sheet... doing a 3d perspective makes getting the right angle and proportions easier.. if i was to draw a tank fully side on it would probably end out looking terrible and way off :/

picture 1: huh.. i forgot about this XD i found it while trying to find the tortoise picture i just moved from my phone to my laptop..

its a visual representation of the ideas of kids fighting against all odds in endears game the book/movie (but hitler youth and a T-34 parody) i had to do the task for english this year and decided to go for a tank approach XP i couldn't draw smoke or people if my life depended on it... or take good quality photos :/

you got me beat there my friend, i can't draw backgrounds or panzers very well yet, partly because i don't like panzer 3's and 4's much so i haven't drawn any XP

Well it was sort of a joke. Wehrmacht panzer crew would camouflage their tanks as hay bales. So essentially, by not being visible the hard part is out of the way. Drawing and detail on the hay bale would be watered down because it isn't the focus of the picture, even though it's the only thing you can see.

And no, I am not a Sherman. I just have an.. "affinity" for Tigers..

Ugh because of work I haven't had any free time DX so i made free time at work to draw another tank with a broken orange pen XP
I can't wait to get a graphics tablet for Christmas, tho I'm scared to see how bad the first attempt will look XD
