Seriously, don't use a black background. I mean you make such a cheerful picture and then use a depressing black background. 

Don't get me wrong, the drawing itself looks okay, but the black beckground just makes it look much more unattractive.  :twi:

I totally get what you're saying, I didn't really think about that, all I knew was that a white one made it hard to see her socks. I'll fix that up, thanks for the advice :)

I totally get what you're saying, I didn't really think about that, all I knew was that a white one made it hard to see her socks. I'll fix that up, thanks for the advice :)

But I would generally suggest you to draw a background, I noticed that on Deviantart, pictures with a background are generally more liked. Without a background, it just looks really unfinished.

I know, I'm just a beginging artist, this was made with a base. I am still learning how to do things like backgrounds :)

As a fan of Sister Location I really like this! I love it how cheerful they both look.  :grin:  The filly's cutie mark is quite foreshadowing!

Cool, that already looks much better. And I would also suggest you to never use bases, even as a beginner artist, I actually never ever used bases. Instead, use references, you learn much more by doing this, because you have to look at everything very precisely. I actually started with just copying pictures, which helped me a lot. :)
